Outside the broken half of the Dark Arrow, Jack Schneider sat down, his body weak, but his eyes looking calm, and curious. His breathing was kept rhythmic, a basic know-how from his past as a problem solver.
His gaze followed the shadows in front, trying to get a clearer picture amidst the shadowy blur of the barrier before him, a queer barrier. As he sat alone, his mind went back to what had brought about his current state.
It wasn't about his childhood. There had been nothing tragic about the latter. And his adulthood? He had enjoyed it, enjoying his job, the fun and all. It didn't give him power, but he knew how to benefit himself. It was in his nature, one not too different from everyone else's, and he had cultivated that very nature to make it an instinct. An instinct which brought him trouble.
