Dark Pov
After taking the key the lights seem to power off so I turn on my helmet light and make my way to the gravity lift and jump in as I descend I notice that the door to the room below is open "is that door suppose to be open Destiny" I need to know if a sentinel is here[ yes during reset all doors will be open] I have but one question to this response " than why did you not mention it earlier god knows what was behind most of the locked doors in this place" with that I notice the gravity life begin to flicker meaning it's running out of power luckily be the time it started I was close to the ground so with that I just jump out and land on the ground than after that I bolt out of the room heading to the portal device.
As I was running through the hallway I notice flood fighting sentinels they must have come from the open rooms [ Dark we have a problem the vial has stopped producing the gas] I was not ready for that news I guess that means I have to shoot my way through as I was thinking this some flood infection forms start dashing towards me but I notice on my radar that there's more coming from behind without much thought I point the sentinel lazer I picked up earlier and blast the infection forms Infront of me and continue running as I do I keep shooting ahead to clear any flood or biomass in my way but that causes the flood to pay more attention to me and it does not help that they are now connected to the Gravemind.
With the increase in intelligence from before the flood set ambushes along my path slowing me down but I manage to make quick work of it. What's surprising is that the sentinels are ignoring me for some reason could it be because I am a human or because something is ordering them to without pondering anymore I continue killing any flood infected or forms that stop me as I come to the last stretch of hallway leading to my objective I see a very large flood form one I have never seen before and not the same as the ones from earlier and it's so big it covers the entire last stretch without much thought I throw the sentinel lazer aside and pull out my smgs now I have plenty of ammo.
I can afford to use them again with that I open fire to my suprise the flood form seems fragile as every shot is destroying its body with ease but as I continue to shoot i notice the parts of the body I shot off are still moving. The only thing I can think of that does this sort of thing is a slime in fantasy games " wait does this mean the only way to destroy this thing is to destroy it's core otherwise it's just going to become thousands of smaller flood forms and if I remember right slimes in games have the ability to change their shape to my dismay the moment I think about this the small chunks that were shot off the main body begin to grow and change shape into other flood forms I make a quick decision and continue to shoot that large flood form to find it's core as fast as possible but as my time keeps ticking every chuck I shot off becomes a another flood form luckily for me by the time the first flood form get close enough to hit me my bullets start to hit the core of the large flood form which appears to cause harm to it's main body and the small flood form created from its separated body parts after putting a full magazine into the core it's explodes the large body and the flood forms created from it seem to melt like snow in the heat after realonding i continue moving as fast as i can as i have wasted enough time.
A/N that's it for this chapter I know that in cannon the new flood form does not exist but I thought about it and I wanted this in as a way for the flood to start their infection this large form can only transform it's separated body parts into basic flood forms but requires the use of its own biomass it can not use external sources of biomass it will separate it's body and transform them till it has nothing left meaning once it's served it's purpose it will die I made it this way because if this thing could do this infinitely them what's the point in infection forms anyway I hope you liked this chapter.
