The duchess laughed and reached out to pull down his arm, clasping his hand in hers.
Adam Walker didn't say a word, just closed his fingers to wrap her hand in his palm.
For the first time in his life, he held someone's hand, walking through the crowd.
Neither of them said much, just silently walked forward, their palms interlocked, which was enough to express those longings for each other.
When they arrived at the parking lot, Adam Walker opened the rear door of the car.
"Can I... sit in the front?"
The duchess asked by the car door.
"Of course."
Adam Walker hurried to close the rear door and opened the passenger door for her.
Sliding into the passenger seat, the duchess reached out her hand, "Give me the flower."
He handed her the flower and pushed the hem of her coat in before carefully closing the car door.
Walking to the driver's side, he got in and glanced at the duchess sitting beside him.
"Settled in? Let's go."
"Okay."
