Jo was taken back and went along without putting up a struggle. After about an hour of driving they entered a compound and Jo was taken underground, when they entered a room a man was sitting in a chair. Everyone stood as soldier with their hands behind their back and legs separate from one another. Marv the leader of squad B stepped forward.
"Mission complete sir"
The man who was sitting then closed his stop watch and spoke while getting to his feet.
"Three hours, thirty-five minutes and 20 seconds and going, I would call this a failed mission instead of complete, anyways you caught him" a man in glasses said. "Welcome back Jo", he added as he steadily walked over to Jo.
Jo felt shivers ran down his spine as he heard the words 'welcome back', Jo has been quiet the entire time just staring to the floor. He knew that there was no escaping now and so he could only coorporate, this was what he as running from but yet everything caught back up to him. The only reason he managed to escape the first time was by the help of some other workers who felt sorry for him, but after he escaped they were killed and disposed somewhere. Jo hoped that they were ok since he didn't know of their deaths.
The man then walked over to Jo and looked at him, but Jo's eyes only remained to the floor. The room was quiet and then immediately the man said leader C, the man who was the leader of squad C answered louder than expected saying 'yes sir' as his heart pounded in his chest.
"Take him to his cell and I want him to be monitored 24/7"
"Yes sir"
The leader of squad C named Mitt brought Jo to his cell. The man then walked back to the chair and stared at an enormous container that was in front of him, he stared laughing with hands at his mouth as if he was trying to hold in his laughter, after a few seconds his laughter got quiet and then instantly he turn on his heels and faced the door. When he turned everyone held their breaths as he walked over to them and then passed them. When he left the room they all released their breaths.
"As soon as I make enough here I'm leaving", a soldier whispered"
"Shhh"
The man in the glasses then continued walking and after a three minutes of walking he entered a room and saw a man sitting around a desk and going through some papers.
"Dad I found him"
"I will not tell you again Felix, end this project of yours" the man said already aware of what he was talking about.
"But I'm getting so close, much closer than before. I even found others like him, not much power but there's more of them"
Before Felix could finish talking he was interrupted with his father slamming his fist onto the desk and raising his voice.
"What you're doing is insane, instead of experimenting on them why don't you think of a way to help them?" he asked as he stood to his feet staring at his son.
"That's what I'm doing my project will help everybody, do you think the world will be this calm forever? The world is over populated, people are living in boats, one day a war will start or people will rise up to over throw us. When that happens these machine will be of good use" Felix countered trying to seek reason with his father.
"No! I forbid you to carry on with this inhumane experiment. This is not the way I raised you", his father shouted at him once more.
"Your right dad this is not the way you raise me, that's because I raised myself", Felix said with a straight face seeing that his father would not acknowledge his cause.
"Don't bring family matters into this, if you don't stop this project I will"
"If there's anything I know is that when you say you're going to do something you mean it and I can't have that father"
Felix then took out his gun and shot his father in the chest, his father staggered. His father was shook by his sudden action as his eyes widen and he looked down at his chest and placed his hand there before falling over. Felix watched as his father bled out and died. He then placed his gun back within his coat and left the room and made his way to the cell area, no one would ever find his father's body since this was his secret room. When he reached he went to cell 1[one] where Jo was placed. Jo was the first of his kind that Felix found and over the last three days he found over thirteen of them like Jo. Jo was monitored as well as the others, Jo just sat there doing nothing. Felix then looked at Jo who had lost faith, Felix walked along the cell's looking at everyone in their cell one after the other, as if they were extraordinary animals on display. Then out of the blue Felix started giggling and walked from the cell room, he continued walking down the hall way and then a soldier ran up to him and delivered information.
"Sir we got information", the soldier said and saluted
"What is it?"
"We received news that others were found in different countries"
"I thought so, we couldn't have been the only country with these rare people" Felix responded
"Do you know any of the countries?" he then asked. The information wasn't something new to him as he had already thought of this, but he still wanted to know which country might be rival.
"Yes sir, Japan, Russia, Netherlands, China and France"
Felix then started laughing and walked off, the soldier felt uneasy as Felix laughed. Everyone who heard Felix laughed would feel uneasy, fear and even timid. Felix always sounded like a lunatic when he laughed, he would start laughing without it being expected and he would abruptly stop seconds later. Felix would go to any lengths to achieve his goals.
"Well we couldn't have been the only country, makes sense", Felix said in a low voice talking to himself as he continued walking. "Guess it's time to put everything into action".
The next day Felix went back to the cell and walked to them one by one and then he went in the center of the passage way. He then ordered the soldiers who were keeping guard to let them out. The soldiers then stepped off to follow behind, but then Felix told them to stand their post. The soldier who was guarding cell 5 was a bit hesitant since he actually knew what the person in cell 5 was like. The person who was is cell 5 then turned around and smiled at him mockingly. The soldier wanted to protect Felix if an accident was to happen, but since the place was filled with cameras and guns attached to the walls and ceiling and to add they didn't know the way out, so with that he followed orders.
"Damned brat", the soldier groaned.
"Phew finally, prisoner 8 was so talkative", a soldier heaved in relief.
"They're not prisoners Daniel"
"Whatever man", Michel muttered as he yawned.
Everyone followed Felix until they reached a room with fourteen chairs, they entered and Felix told them to have a seat. They were a bit unsure but they sat anyway and Felix then flipped his coat back and sat after them completing the fourteen chairs. He sat there looking at the thirteen of them one after the other.
"I have a proposition for you all", Felix said with a straight face and everyone looked at him. The man from cell 6 then spoke.
"I kill you and I get out of here, then sure I'm up for that"
"No, but you might just be killing someone else", replied Felix.
Multiple people started talking before Felix telling them to be quiet demandingly. After they quieted down Felix went on to explain.
"As you may have noticed you now possess an ability different from being a regular human being, I believe it occurred after the New Year and you're not the only ones. My intel says that there are more of you out there and not only from this country. The world will change if more of your kind start to appear, riots and wars will follow, I'm sure you all are aware that the world is overpopulated so there isn't enough space for everyone and not to mention the heat these days. They're even trying to find another planet that's habitable, but none yet. I'm very sure someone like you is out there gathering people to over throw us one day"
"And what does any of this has to do with us, this isn't our problem", cell 6 responded crossing his arm and leaning back onto the chair
"I agree with the man", cell 12 who was a female added.
"Well they aren't wrong about that, were just regular folks this isn't our job or responsibility", cell 10 said.
"I just want to go home", Jo finally uttered a sentence in a low voice.
"Let me finish" Felix said getting their attention. "It's everyone's problem I'm afraid, we don't know when anything will happen we can only prepare and we aren't sure how many of your kind are there either. When the war happens we'll need your help to protect everyone from what's to come especially from people who are like you"
"I still don't care"
"We'll leave this to the police and the higher ups"
"Yeah, I agree"
No one really cared about anything that Felix just said and was against helping. They just wanted to go back to their lives. Felix then snap his fingers and a soldier came walking in carrying some files. Felix took the files and open a random one.
"You all have a family I suppose, Markin Louis", upon hearing the name a man looked up and a few others turned their heads to look at him.
"Two sons and one attempt murder", everyone now looked at the man from cell 11 and he was quiet looking to the floor.
"Cell 13 Marie Smith a daughter and slept with three minors", Marie was surprised and only looked away in shame, no one said anything since they knew they would be next and Felix continued.
" Cell 7 Simpson Park a former drug dealer and one child and another on the way", " Cell 2 Sasha Davis you slept with your teacher for good grades", " Cell 8 Simon Miller one child, attempt robbery and drug abuse", " Cell 10 Mellie Woods three children and assault of three police officers", " Cell 5 Will Anderson you're a college student buried in debt, crime burglary", " Cell 12 Rose Fransie you caused your ex's wife miscarriage twice", " Cell 9 John Johnson a loving wife and a daughter and you're a womanizer", " Cell 4 Emille Campbell a caring son, prostitution", " Cell 3 failing in school and so your parents just gave you to us for a sum of money", " Cell 1 Jo Jackson two loving children and a wife", " and last cell 6 Leo Parkin", Felix said with a pause
"Yes sir", the young man from cell 6 answered. Felix opened his file that was much bigger than the others.
"Crimes murder, drug dealer, attempt murder, jail break, robbery, scamming, drug trafficking, assault, kidnapping, burglary, and the list continues.
Everyone had their eyes averted from everyone but after they heard Leo's crimes they all took a few seconds looking at him.
"What?, I'm pretty famous, didn't you see my face on TV some time back", Leo said smiling with his carefree tone, clearly unbothered by his actions.
Felix listed everything about each of them like their relationship, age, jobs, family, address and crime, no one knew about their bad reputation since the court and higher ups wanted to keep everyone calm. The crimes weren't outrageous and was kept on the down low, since the public didn't know about them they kept it that way. They did face their punishments, but their family was never notified, their families were told that they were doing a survey and their opinion would help in the future and their children had a caretaker to look after them until they finished facing their punishment and they were also given counselling to be a better person.
"All this information would be leaked to the public and it would gravely affect your reputation and not to mention your family. Imagine people coming to seek revenge taking it out on your children, now who would like that?" Felix said with a hum. Everyone was silent and cell 6 Leo Parkin just yawned loudly bringing everyone from their deep thoughts. Felix then walked up to him and started talking
"Ava Hansley, Jasmine Parkin Hansley", hearing those names Leo was taken aback but he remained calmed asking who were they.
"Father of Jasmine Parkin, Ava Hansley died and whose fault was it hmm, why don't I start the story", Felix said as he went close to Leo's ear as he spoke his voice got ever quieter and Leo remain silent.
"And if any of you refuse, I'll just turn your children into beef and feed them to the high class restaurants", Felix walked around taunting and giggling like a mad man.
"Just think about it, strangers dinning on your children", Felix said as he rested his hands on both of Simpson's shoulder and talked closely to his face. Simpson then jumped to his feet and held Felix's coat collar.
"How dare you bring our children into this" Simpson snarled angrily gripping onto Felix's coat collar.
"We changed and that's our pass", John from cell 9 voiced standing to his feet.
"Oh have you all?" Felix simply asked and cell 8 and 5 lowered their heads, and Simpson loosen his grip and then tighten it again. As Simpson was about hit Felix guns came from the ceiling and laser filled the entire room pointing at everyone except Felix, Simpson slowly removed his hand and everyone dared not to move. Felix then held one hand up and the ceiling went back to looking normal.
"Good thing I never tried escaping here", cell Leo muttered.
Felix then straightened his collar walking back to his chair,
"Your family will be taken care of and any other problem that you have outside, you will be rewarded handsomely and I'll grant you all one favor, if you don't like the proposal you may leave". Everyone thought about what they just heard before making any movements
"Tchh, I'm leaving", Simpson scoffed and turned to leave. As Simpson reached close to the door a gun appeared from the ceiling and shot him, his body fell over and blood bled from his head. Everyone jumped to their feet staring in shook and holding their breaths trying to make sense of what just took place.
"And I forgot to say, if you refuse I'll just kill you"
"Guess now we know who haven't changed", Leo said as he looked at the body.
"Anyone else want to leave?" Felix asked and no one moved, they remain where they were before sitting back into their chairs.
