The Artemis, a ship completely refitted with the mindset of 'fuck you and everyone else in the next five hundred miles.'
It was more than large enough for my troops that I had 'adopted/hired' into becoming my crew and without needing to have almost twenty thousand something servitor's and slaves working within the ship to keep it running.
All of my two thousand troops had their own admittedly small cabins, but they actually had their own small cabin's even if it was as small as a jail cell. Which was far more then other soldiers on other transport's could say to have.
"My lord, where will we be going now?" Adelieth asked curiously as I stood at the bridge and was working to put in the coordinates to her very question.
Taking a breath I explained calmly. "With two thousand soldiers, I can do a good deal of trading. But trading isn't necessarily what I want to do as a Rogue Trader."
I wiped my hands to the side which brought up a large holographic map of the galaxy in it's flatter form and I pointed out the northern quadrant of Segmentum Obscurus. "My ultimate goal is the eradication of the evils of this Galaxy, with the two major threats being Chaos itself and Tyrranids. And in order to deal noticable blows to such forces I need more men and women."
My fingers pinched in the holographic map making it zoom in and I pointed at a system in particular. "There is the Cardinal World of Avignor, which hosts and train's a great number of the Adepta Sororitas... More particularly your own in the Order of the Ebon Chalice."
Katherine the actual leader of the host of Sister's of Battle clasped her hands together and spoke fervently. "My sisters will happily give initiates and the best of the best to serve in your holy war my lord."
I slowly nodded before I said. "After we pick up a couple thousand more Sisters of Battle, they will need to be augmented and be augmented in blessed armaments and armor. So I may even have time to trade some smaller attack vessels into better ones. We shall see, however."
I looked up the big golden Custodian and I asked curiously. "How much longer do you plan to follow me honestly?"
To which the Custodian responded bluntly. "Until you have served the goal the Emperor has foreseen you will accomplish... Also, my brothers ask that you add their signatures to the camera's laser defense system in the engine room so that they won't be locked onto before they can hide."
I slowly looked down to my system terminal and looking through the camera system at the entrance of the damned engine room where the spatial folding system was. There were four more Custodian's with the hallmark of the Aquilla Sheild host in their purple loincloth covering the crotch area of their power armor.
"There is four more Custodians on my ship... How the hell did you even get on the ship to begin with?" I demanded even as I took the four extra Custodian's outputting electronic signal to add them to the ships system.
And the Custodian on the bridge responded dully. "Normally we just hunch over to look like a Ogryn to hide in plain sight... Now with your own enhanced Ogryn's all we had to do was hide our armor in all the other arms and armor being loaded up onto the ship. And walk in and register as one of your enhanced Ogryns."
My lips twitched at that making me brush a hand across my face before I said. "Yeah alright, they are free to wander the ship obviously... Anyway, back to my previous topic. once we get stocked up and I trade some lesser relics with the Ecclesiarchy we will be going on a hunt for corruption."
The corruption I wanted to go for did have a point however beyond me just wanting to wipe out Chaos. The more 'Darkness' I smothered and destroyed with my Light, the more my Light of being a minature Traveler would grow which would allow me to become a mini C-Tan in time.
I shifted in my seat before I locked in the spatial coordinates for the planet Avignor and then I unlocked and synched my Crysis Suit which acted as the key to the Dune Spatial Folding system.
A loud hum rang out as the singularity engine within the ship came to full power with the air seeming heavier as gravity became heavier for a moment and then I pushed the big red button knowing the Inquisitor and everyone else was going to be confused as fuck.
As the Artemis seemingly stretched forward in place before snapping forward and disappearing in a gravity well as the spatial folding system went to work taking us to Avignor without us needing to go through the Warp.
"There we go... Galactic scale travel without using the Warp." I spoke as I felt the Custodian's eyes all but glaring on me.
And said Custodian said bluntly. "The Emperor even during the Great Crusade didn't have such technology."
To which I raised an eyebrow and asked bluntly in turn. "Did he? Or did he leave it locked under the Imperial Palaces not wanting the technology from the Dark Age of Technology to see the light of day?"
The Custodian was quiet before he said coldly. "This is Xenos-style technology then?" And I could feel Adelieth and Katherine looking at me with weight before Barghest said with curiosity.
"From the notes Jake has left me, I would say no right? There isn't wraith bone in Eldar technology, nor is the technology covered in a thousand green lights as shown with Necron tech that uses that green energy source."
But I shook my head and said calmly. "It is not Xenos technology. I could even teach you all the science behind spatial folding mechanics, but yes this is a lost technology which is why I don't respect the Mechanicus in any case."
The Custodian was silent for a long moment before he spoke more to himself than ourselves. "The Emperor knows what is best... He implanted the technology into your own mind, so it's not our place to question it's true origin."
With that, the Custodian went silent and falling back into the shadows while I did some math and determined that it would take us probably a good half a week to get to Avignor.
"Katherine, Adelieth, rally your sisters. We have prayers and rituals to do to bless several weapons and icons to act as gifts for the Adeptus Ministorum at Avignor."
