Chapter 109 - Last Change

Much to my surprise, the next delivery was without incident. They came in, paid for the delivery, and left. I felt happiness mixed with a little frustration, as it was something that I could use to train Emma. But as we were traveling back, I started to grill Emma about the people who had just picked up their stuff from us.

Emma was trying her best to soak it up. I could see her trying her best to take in everything I said. She struggled but answered about seven things about each of the aliens that picked up the cargo from us. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail that she was able to soak in for the brief period that those aliens were here.

It boded well if she was observant.

It made me wonder why she was a slut in that camp. I knew it was for survival, but I think she might have undersold herself and could do better in combat. But we would need to go out and do a bounty mission or two before I trust her to do anything more than that.

That being said, the pick-ups and deliveries on this planet after the first were quiet; all I had to do was lecture Emma. But as we made it back to the ship, I stopped. I let Emma take time and soak in the knowledge even though I was slightly less green than her in combat. My Call of Duty Virtual Reality pro experience was all I had to hold me up in my lectures.

I remember coaches going over positioning and tactics with me more than once, and I sighed.

It wasn't the same, but they were similar, so I did my best to give her that information.

After lecturing her for the day, I immediately gave my character some food and a nap before I went to crafting. Ura was busy starting to put together a longer and longer list of deliveries, leaving us no time together. It was for the best, as I was still on the fence about how I was feeling about it, along with Amber. I continued to work without restraint and jumped between the real world and crafting in Galaxy Online.

Over a day passed when I heard a knock on the door, and I turned to see Ura opening the door to my armory. "Hey, we need to chat," Ura said, and I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. We need to talk about staffing," Ura said, pulling out a tablet and looking at me. "I have made contact with a recruiting agency, and I was discussing some things with them and the start of our new corporation," Ura told me, and I turned to her and leaned back with a frown.

"So what did they say?" I asked.

"First of all, we are going to need a lawyer in Federation law to set up some things for us to properly incorporate. We have to pick out one ourselves, but they sent a couple of recommendations. The good news is that we can do this all remotely; the bad news is that we have to talk to a core world prick because we need an interplanetary shipping company license, which is free with registration as an interplanetary shipping identity," Ura said with a frown.

"Basically bureaucratic hell," I replied, and Ura nodded.

"Yes, but I agree with them; we need the legal identity now that I am not an individual shipper."

"Okay, what next?"

"We need a list of the people we want to recruit for our first wave of hires. The recruitment agency will take a ten percent cut based on their yearly wage, which we will be paying them." Ura continued as I sighed more.

"Okay, so I guess I should say this now, then," I said, and Ura looked at me, a little surprised at my words. "I think we might need to set up a headquarters where we can do research and development and hiring," I told her, much to her surprise.

"Why would we need that?" Ura asked.

"Because I think we should set ourselves up for success, Ura," I told her.

"Elaborate," Ura said, crossing her arms under her breasts, and I felt my cock twitch as I looked at her massive breasts, and I thought about the milk.

"God, I want to drink from those soon," I replied without thought. Ura blushed and looked cute a moment later.

"W-we can soon," Ura replied, looking away. "We will have some time when we go to the recruiter's office. I gave us a week with them," Ura said, and I grinned.

"Perfect, I can take Emma on a bounty mission after we enjoy ourselves.

"Nope, we are going to be busy with the recruiters, and I refuse to do this alone as this was your idea," Ura said, glaring at me with shy embarrassment that had gone as it had never appeared.

I winced, "Can we make it a couple of days then?" I asked.

Ura frowned, "I-" She paused and brought up her Tablet, "No, we can't. I got a delivery for after that already set in, and we have a priority from that Loan Asura, but after that delivery, we can stop for three days on that planet, no more, or we will become late."

"Okay, I need to train Emma more," I said, leaning back. "But, going back to the previous topic, I think we need a headquarters, Ura. One not on a Core world but on a first-class planet. A place where we can set up a bounty office and train Bounty hunters."

Ura looked at me, a little confused, "I need you to elaborate more."

"Look, the largest problem we are going to encounter is that we are going to run into a fuck tonne of manpower problems, especially with our less than appropriate cargo. Right?"

"I'm following."

"One I am suggesting is a headquarters that does research and development for various things but also does more important things," I said, holding up my fist and bringing up one finger, "First, Manpower and training. They will hire bounty hunters and train them on the planet to hunt and bring in small bounties on the planet. That way, we can find skilled bounty hunters to put on ships. We can also find the less than reputable bounty hunters and have them on our interesting ships," I said with a massive smile.

Ura nodded, understanding, "I can see how that would be useful. It would also weed out bad bounty hunters, saving us time or potentially a ship."

"Exactly," I said, then held up another finger. "Second, it allows us to hire and man ships, so we can check the ships delivered to us with our own people and let them get used to the ship before sending them out to do deliveries."

"That is not a very good reason, but I am following," Ura said.

"Then the last reason is a place to craft, develop, engineer, and manufacture custom equipment for our corporation." I finished with my third finger up.

"Why would we need that?" Ura asked.

"Many reasons," I said with a grin, pointing to my armor," Imagine ambush armor on all our bounty hunters?" I asked, and Ura looked more thoughtful. "Or even just normal armor? Each of our crews would have bounty hunters that would scare the average dipshit that is looking to rob us. Then, there are weapons and DEVICES that I cannot make on the ship. Imagine if I can send out a drone for battle?" I asked her, "So many various things that can give us a leg up in battle. But we need someone not interrupted every time we land on a planet to be doing that and not getting inspected."

Ura looked much more thoughtful, and she leaned against the bulkhead. I lowered my hand, and I could see her mind working quickly. "This is bad business at first," Ura said, "We are going to make less on each shipment, and our Loan does not cover this."

"Valid, but I also don't give a fuck, Ura." I replied, "Think about it like this," I said and paused, "We are smugglers; we can start selling some of our own shit and smuggle it into places and making massive money on it."

"You want to set up an arms company?" Ura asked.

"Yes and no," I replied. "I want to set up an Illegal, non-traceable company using our own smugglers returning home to deliver supplies in the future and use that to fund various other things."

She frowned harder, "Not possible early," Ura said.

"I am not saying to start too early; I am saying we find a planet and start to recruit for it."

"But that is starting early," Ura said.

"All I want is an engineer working on devices," I told her. "To start, we'll get some kids out of university looking for a job and give them the freedom to run around and make what they want as long as it is effective."

"You mean only graduate hiring?" Ura asked.

I smiled. "Well, I don't think we can hire the best of the best, so we aim for those on second-class and third-class planets and bring them to a first-tier planet," I finished.

Now Ura looked intrigued and smiled, "Bringing them out of the trash worlds will create a lot of goodwill. We will allow them to live in the company and not leave; we can suppress their wages at first. They will also be out of squalor and thankful for that."

"Exactly, and I am sure there are a couple that the Recruitment agency would love to pawn off on us for a low price. There are always those that they have that they can't seem to offload."

"You want to hire the trash," Ura said with a frown.

"Why not?" I asked back.

"Because it is a waste of money," Ura replied, and I chuckled.

"Think about it differently," I said slowly, "They are on Tier 3 plants; remember the one I was on?" I asked.

"Well, yeah, it was a desert planet and miserable. There were only small towns, and companies were basically the law," Ura replied. "Most Tier Three planets are like that, so the education is poor, and tickets for the planet are few and far between because companies don't want cheap labor to leave."

"Now, they are educated though?" I asked.

"Some usually have to sign a contract with a company." I frowned as I heard her say this and tapped my fingers on the workbench.

"But you could basically say, in exchange for a certain amount of time, all your inventions belonging to us, get them off the planet after working for us. If we wish to continue hiring them afterward, we will have to hire them for an industry standard of one planet wage," I said, and Ura looked thoughtful, "then all we need to do is provide food and shelter, maybe a little entertainment money as an extra. Then you have almost free labor while they get to play with the things they want to play with and a ticket away from the companies they are trying to run from."

"This will create enemies," Ura replied, looking at me, and I smiled.

"What do you think the illegal part of our operations is for?" I asked. "We just ship some weapons to the local organizations that hate the companies if they start to become annoying. I am sure our new Asura friend will be happy to help us with that."

Ura looked surprised and chuckled, "You know this can be a really stupid move," Ura said.

"Well, if we are going to create an organization that needs to grow, eventually, all the ships we just bought are not going to be enough, Ura."

"What are you saying?"

"I mean, we already said if we are going to do this, let's go big or go broke. The worst thing that happens is we run to the Empire or the Kingdom or die trying."

Ura bit her lip, "I don't like the thought of going full traitor to the federation but," Ura smiled, "Okay fuck it, let's do that, I will start bringing some things up with the recruiters, but we need to planet shop for a place that meets the criteria. A Tier one Planet with a strong criminal element that we can train bounty hunters."

"Also needs to be a little central in this region of space, and we should have it not too far away from a large Pirate station so we can purchase slaves as needed without going out of our way."

"Hmmm," Ura started to work on her tablet and frowned. "I found the perfect planet, but this place is a cesspit," she said.

"A Tier one planet a cesspit?" I asked.

"It's called Burvine; it was a planet terraformed a couple of centuries ago, and the entire population lives on floating cities held up by countergrav." Ura said, "It is a planet with a booming spaceport that brings in so many off-world supplies that it is a surprise that the planet has any use. But it has a key mining material that a lot of Slipstream drives use. The resources on Burvine are excessive, and so an entire industry grew from it along with crime. The crime rate on this planet is thirty out of a hundred people die of crime. But because of the large amount of resources on the planet, people are able to strike it rich. So the planet's surface, although you can't stay on it too long without a hazard suit, is very popular, and the tech is at Tier one."

I frowned, "Thirty percent out of a hundred?" I asked, "That is fucking high."

"Well, it is inflated because of all the treasure hunters; more than ninety percent of those deaths are people heading down to the surface. If we set up a corporation headquarters in the cities, we can use the surface as a training ground for the excessive amount of bounties ranging from high to low on the surface to train recruits."

"So it is safe in the cities but deadly on the surface," I said in thought.

"Yeah, and if we create a dry dock there, eventually, we would have a lot of room to grow. "Plus, as an added benefit," Ura grinned this time. "This planet has a much less strict inspection than you would think for a tier-one planet. That and it will cost less to make slipstream drives."

I shrugged, "Should we start with that as our first choice and look for secondary options?" I asked.

"I can do that. I will set up the lawyer in a day. To my knowledge, they work pretty fast."

"Then let's do that," I said, getting up and walking toward Ura. As she looked down, making notes, I brought up a greasy hand and rubbed her cheek, making her look at me in surprise as I took her lips. Ura tensed for the slightest moment, then melted into my embrace, wrapping her arms around my neck.

Moments passed in each other's embrace as our tongues intertwined and danced together, leaving us both breathless when we broke the kiss. "I look forward to reading what you come up with," I told her.

Ura shuddered, and I moved to kiss her again, but this time, she stopped me. "Sorry, but I have a comms meeting very soon," Ura said, and I could see her looking over my shoulder at her tablet. "I have only five minutes."

I frowned and pouted as my cock was hard looking at her massive breasts, but she was a busy woman, and I stepped back, "Okay," I replied with a bit of a pout, and Ura then frowned at me. "You know, no more changing our plans though, SleepyWonder," Ura said, looking at me solidly, "We are looking to do a lot in a short period of time, and we cannot excessively keep adding things to the plan. We need room to be able to adapt in case things go wrong, and each new thing we add will limit our flexibility. THIS IS THE LAST THING WE ADD!" Ura said, putting her foot down clearly.

"I understand, I-" I paused, "I think I just want to set us up for the most success possible and-"

"And you want to do it as quickly as possible." Ura said with a wry smile, "But I am unsure how much of this we can pull off, and we will need major income to offset the loans and deliveries. We are making a bunch of overhead and debt without any fucking assets. No more, period, end of story. I will not allow it."

Ura looked extremely serious, and I could only nod, and she smiled.

"Good, you understand. I will shoot down anything else. In fact, if your arguments were not good and we were worried about the bounty hunter situation, I would have completely disagreed with you on this. This is a lot, and it is going to be hard to make everything come together. But," Ura shrugged, "Let's do it." Ura walked away, and I frowned as I thought about her words.

Then I remembered, "URA, I PUT GREASE ON YOUR FACE WHEN I KISSED YOU!" I called out.

"YOU BITCH!" Ura cried out and then ran past me toward the bathroom, and I chuckled as she ruthlessly washed her face.
