Chapter 410 - War on the Motherland Part 5: Two Against Fate

(General POV)

Location the Warhammer Old World-Kislev, Open Snow covered Area: Battlefield; Kislev/Daughters of the Hag vs. Forces of Chaos/Dark Legion

Ulrika has arrived rushing into the snowy battlefield, and what can be considered a miracle, Ulrika managed to hit the Chosen of the Gods, with a arrow to the eye.

Ulrika steered her horse to stand beside Mother Ostankya, who was shocked to see the infamous Ulrika Magdova, was here standing beside her, as her bow and string was ready and aiming at the target, while Ulrika, she was surprised that her target was still standing after being shot in the eye.

The Warp Gods were shocked by the sudden arrow inside the helmet of Ixion, Tzeentch and his brothers stumble back, Khorne even commented, "This is what happens, when you're not serious in the battlefield. Be thankful that this avatar is a construct, or you'd would have died in such a dishonorable, method Tzeentch." both Nurgle and Laharl, agreed especially since it was quite hilarious to them as well.

They felt Tzeentch's growing anger and frustration, they can understand aside from maybe Kholek and Wulfrik no other being has done such "damage" to their avatar, and of all of them to suffer such a wound/blow in battle.

Tzeentch's anger was overflowing out the avatar, causing the snow around Ixion to sizzle and melt, along with causing small blue and pink crystals began to sprout around his feet, as well blue eldritch mass and flesh, the mutating powers of Change, pouring out the soles of Ixion/Tzeentch's greaves.

Tzeentch commanded Ixion to rest his corrupted scepter onto the ground, and with that same upper-left arm, he reach over at the arrow inside Ixion's helmed "head".

Grasping the arrow, in one strong pull, freed that arrow free, Ulrika and Mother Ostankya looked at him in shock, no blood or even a loss of said eye, but it was clear to both women that their enemy was mad.

Ixion pick his scepter, and the avatar's electric-blue glowing eyes, were filled with clear animosity and anger.

Without any words, Ixion/Tzeentch struck letting out rage-filled battle cry, swinging down his [Balewing Halbert] right at Ostankya and Ulrika, making the two split to opposite directions to evade the incoming attack.

Which was all predicted by the Architect of Fate, using the other arms and weapons to attack the two women while they're still stumbling from Tzeentch/Ixion's first move, towards Ulrika he swung the [Hellbane] the massive, tzeentchian greatsword, Ulrika, she had to leap off her horse to avoid the blade, which easily cleaved horizontally her horse in half, dropping in a bloody gore in two halves.

While on his left, Tzeentch made Ixion aim the [Corrupted Ursunite Scepter] blasting a fireball at the Hag Mother, she was able to barely avoid Ixion magical fireball, only suffering some lesser burns on her right arm.

But Tzeentch/Ixion was not done his onslaught yet, quickly turning to Ulrika with a frontal spin attack with all his weapons, Ulrika was forced to backtrack to dodge all slashes and smashes, from Tzeentch's barrage.

As Ixion/Tzeentch was focused on the vampiress, Ulrika, the Hag Mother, Ostankya was able to distance herself a bit and start fighting as well.

Swinging her staff in the air, firing magic bolts at Ixion, who blocked using some psychic lightning, to coat the avatar's armor making her attack insignificant and unaffective against him, all the while Tzeentch seems to be more focused on killing Ulrika than caring for Mother Ostankya or the course of the battle.

The Dark One within their shared avatar sighed, seems that Tzeentch's pride was making him blind to the real issues, Nurgle agreed with him, as always Tzeentch ego was is greatest weakness...apart from obsessive curiosity and envy...with Khorne being the exception, he was enjoying that his younger brother was embracing the call and lust for battle!!

Both Laharl and Nurgle, cause a huge flux their divine, ruinous powers, through the avatar to snap Tzeentch out of his berserk state, since it didn't fit the Scheming God's style and way of war.

Those two dark Godly forces entering the Changer's mind, made him snap back to a more conscious state.

He saw Ulrika take a step back, and aim her bow and arrow, at him, after she was locked-on, she shot her arrow at him, and Tzeentch reacted quickly.

He refused to be humiliated again...and truth be told, and never said, Tzeentch, he was grateful that his brothers snap him back to reality...letting one hand go of his halbert, he made Ixion stretch out his lower-right arm with a grasping motion on said hand.

Using telekinesis to not only snap Ulrika's bow, but take control of the flying arrow, with mischievous joy flowing through the minds of Tzeentch, as he teasingly said through Ixion, "Thanks for the gift. But it has no use for me. Allow, me to return it, my land hehehe." Tzeentch used his psychic power, turn the arrow around and aimed at Ulrika...

When she saw this, Ulrika was shocked never before as any sorceror that she faced before has done this, as the arrow was suspending in the air before it soared straight at her, in such a speed that she could barely track.

If not for her vampiric physiology, she wouldn't be able to leap to the side, but the arrow still manage to cut her left side, blood soaking her coat and she hissed and laid in the snow.

Now with her temporally out in the way...as the Changer was thinking about her, a spectral mauve colored spider leg, struck him from the side launching Ixion/Tzeentch across the snowfield.

Standing menacingly was Mother Ostankya, using her magic to make these eight spider-leg constructs, her sight turns slightly to her right, looking at Ulrika, who was begging to stand-up, while holding her hand on her wound.

While Ostankya would never fight alongside a accursed undead, the current situation didn't let her any option but fight alongside Ulrika, that was standing straight and drew her sword, as the two of them were waiting for their opponent to strike back at them.

Tzeentch now fully in control, and able to enjoy his battle in own way, as he heard his brothers laughing in excitement, as this was the type of fighting they were all hoping to witness, as Tzeentch commanded Ixion to stand up.

All the Changer could think was, "A Man-whore, a Brute, and a Fat Blight, have no class at all. Can't they appreciate a bit of suspense and unpredictability?" Ixion once again at its feet.

Both his opponents were waiting for him, making Tzeentch eager for what is coming next, and how to turn their pathetic like plans turned on itself.

Spreading the upper-arms of Ixion, and tightening the grip of the lower hands of the avatar, it was time for the Lord of All Change, to have some more fun, using his pyker powers to slightly levitate Ixion off the ground, and rush fast at Ulrika and Ostankya with all three weapons ready.

While those three continue their duel, the battle that was happening around them was becoming more chaotic.

Yuma and her maggotkin, along with nurglish daemons, were engaging a force of akshinas, the Blightkings were clashing her plague weapons against the the woodsmen's arms.

One akshina ambusher, shot a couple of bolts into the bloated stomach, every piercing bolt causing puss mixed blood pour out those wounds, until that Kislevite man aim at the blightking's head, only for a Beast of Nurgle to excitedly pou nce on him.

"Playing" with the poor akshina, making the nearby maggotkin and fellow daemons, laugh and cheer for the Beast of Nurgle, with Yuma stabbing her Troll Knife into another high-ranking akshina, laughing cheerfully, as she proclaimed, "Another lost soul, sent for you ohh dear Grandfather!!"

The Blades of Khorne were now fighting the bears and bear riders of the Daughters of the Hag, some bloodletters cutting and stabbing the beasts, with the blood warriors and wrath knights were focused on the spearmen bear riders.

A hell wraths, charged straight into the enemy forces roaring and groaning in hatred, since they were unknown khornate entities, soo they sought to kill these unknown blood daemons as quickly as possible, not knowing that their rushing straight to the grasp of a fiery death.

When they got in the range of these group of eight hell wraths, they smashed their sphere sack of hellfire and raw anger onto the snowy ground, and in a combined force of eight grand infernos.

All were incinerated, their souls consumed in endless rage and wrath, only to sate the hunger of their dark master, the Lord of Skulls, as all was burned black the eight Hell Wraths, were standing back tall, with new sacks on their back, as they continued to ravage the battleground in infernal hellfire.

Meanwhile Skarlet was in the middle of huge pile of dead Kislevite woodsmen, covered in bloodstains and various wounds done by the Blood Witch herself, with her arms spread wide as she manipulated all the blood from these bodies.

Forming several crimson blood tendrils, emerged from those bodies draining all the blood from those bodies, and being reach her mouth, and she feasted, feeling stronger and rejuvenated in her vitality and euphoria.

Once she was done feeding, she turned her dagger into a blood scythe, looking at the cowarding at the sight of her, and she spoke with a disdained tone, "Pathetic. And you call yourselves warriors. Your skulls aren't worth to be presented to Lord Khorne, atone for this sin of cowardness with blood." Skarlet spun her blood-scythe, before leaping at her next victims.

Another force of the Dark Legion was Throgg and his trolls, along with several Chaos (Titanomachy) Giant, smashing and crushing all Kislevites that came to challenge the Troll King and his forces.

With the Bile Trolls, spewing untold disgust onto their victims, and occasionally pulling out a maggot from their body and eating it, while Throgg crushed a frost bear in one swing of his giant stone maul, as the giant destroyed, tear, and rip apart those humans by their feet.

This horrific war, was also under constant bombardment from the Living Fortress Daemon, Enzium, providing heavy artillery support to the Dark Legion.

From Carnage empowered rays, hellfire rounds and catapult, plague deadhead launchers, and Tzeentch towers zapping arcane lightningbolts onto the Daughters of the Hag, possibly the unit with the largest kill count currently in the entirety of the Dark Legion.

Returning to the two on one, duel between the Chosen of the Gods, against Mother Ostankya and Ulrika.

After Tzeentch/Ixion rushed them, Ostankya took the brunt of Ixion's charge using her spectral spider-legs as a shield, by folding those eight legs over herself, absorbing the full force of Ixion's impact.

Sending her back, her old legs trowling through the snow eventually losing her footing, and tripping, leaving Ixion to fight Ulrika alone again.

Ulrika with her sword ready, stood in front of the four-armed tzeentchian Chaos Lord, who looked down at her with soulless, glowing blue eyes, as he started to...laugh?

Ixion was laughing at Ulrika, as he spoke, "How amusing. This is the first time, I'd face an undead. It will be soo interesting to examine the magic that flows, through your dead-veins...but first amuse more, before you die." Ixion/Tzeentch performed a wide halbert slash at the belly of the Kislevite vampiress, she took a step-back avoiding damage, only her coat getting a slash.

In response she rushed in, and while in the guard of Ixion, she performed a spinning slash, to attack what she perceives as Ixion's blind spot, his back.

Her slash connecting barely scratching Ixion's armor, and in response she was hit in the side of her face, by the tip of Ulrika's enemy scepter, the tzeentchian flames causing...some frostbite along with bruising in her pale face, as the blow knocked her to the ground.

As she tossed and turn in the cold snow, her vampiric senses warned her of incoming danger, opening her eyes she saw a tzeentchian greatsword [Hellbane], swinging down onto her, reacting fast, Ulrika rolled to her right avoiding the deathblow by meer inches.

Tzeentch/Ixion continues to try to cut her down, and she kept on rolling out of mortal danger, which was annoying the Changer, so he used a bit of fire magic, casting a weak (Fireball) near the vampiress, causing a small fiery explosion, sending Ulrika soaring and skipping on the snow.

Screaming in pain, gaining more bruises, cuts, and burns, as she finally stop skipping, groaning in pain, but to her good fortune, Ostankya attacked Ixion, making the Chosen of the Gods, change his focus to the Hag Matriarch, instead of her.

Mother Ostankya and Ixion were standing some great distance from one another, Tzeentch sensed a new force of magic, flowing through the air, obviously meaning that his opponent was going to use a Magic Lore he has yet to withness.

And just as the Arcane God, predicted Ostankya was harnessing the power of Beast Magic, to cast the (Flock of Doom) spell which the spellcaster invokes Corvus the Crow Lord, summoning his servants, sending a huge murder of crows to attack their enemies.

Laharl was the most interested on Beast Magic, and also made a mental command and reminder throughout the Dark Legion to capture, as many Hags that they can...but they don't have to be in prime condition.

Tzeentch fully agreed with his brother the Dark One, as he wait for the Hag Mother's spell, wanting to witness and overpower her spell, with his own magical power!!

Ostankya was chanting in magical tongue, with a great spectral grey crow, appeared behind Mother Ostankya with its wings spread wide, cawing acting as a magical call that summoned a huge murder of crows, all flying around her and the Corvus construct.

Tzeentch was smiling inside as he saw this magic manifesting, then he heard Ostankya speak to him, "Feel the power of the spirits, Ixion!!" pointing her staff forward and sending out the magical empower crows at Ixion/Tzeentch.

The murder of magic crows, soared over to Tzeentch, so he started to channel two lores of magics, for a combo magic spell, instead of using either the Lore of Fire or Lightning, the Changer used another magic lore to create a brand new combo magic.

Channeling the powers of the Winds of Magic, aligned with Shadow and his own Chaos Lore of Tzeentch, a great blueish-mauve mist started to covered the area, this spell is more a defensive and mind-shattering affect on its victims, the murder of crows kept on soaring straight at Tzeentch/Ixion, as he was finishing the spell.

As the conjured bluish mist, was starting to take the shape of Tzeentch, (old artwork) with azure glowing eyes and mouth all throughout the mist, with teeth made from bluish crystals, as this dark ethereal entity manifest, all the magic from the crows starts to dwindle, and once they enter the gaseous construct...the crows caw out terror, as they panick and try to escape the mist, those that managed became mutate mush.

Laharl and even Nurgle were impressed with spell, and asked their brother for the name of it, Tzeentch has name this magic nullifying, mutating mist the (Eldritch Paranoia), and as he commands the avatar to start walk out of the mist's reach, emerging to see the shocked face of Ostankya, as the second main affect of his combo spell was taking affected on her, and from what he and the other Warp Gods were sensing untold fear and discomfort from those magically aligned, that were against the castor.

Laharl definitely approved of this spell, especially with him being the Chaos God of Terror, once again the Sorceror God has outdone himself in the designing of a spell, this made Tzeentch chuckle and thank his brother for the compliments, and even said, "Well what can I say, Dark Harbinger? You're a artist in creating, while I'm one of magic. The arcane and the mystical are my canvences, don't you agree my brother?" without a need to answer back, all the Dark One did was nod his head in complete agreement.

Putting aside all the brotherly banter, Tzeentch focused Ixion's sight on Ostankya who was on her knees, with her hands on the side of her head, clearly suffering some mental anguish.

Such a laughable sight, as many ancient scholars and philosophers once said, "Pride comes before the fall." Mother Ostankya's pride, as one of the greatest magical castors in the Old World, meant nothing in the face of the Dark God that governs magic.

So Tzeentch decided that he spent enough time, enjoying this moment, so stretching out the upper-right hand of Ixion, and focusing his telekinetic power to grasp onto the neck of the Hag Mother, choking and lifting her up from the snow-covered ground.

As she still felt mental strain and pain on in her mind, she was now also being choked, as Tzeentch mentally pulled her towards her, with the [Hellbane] pointing out straight, waiting to slowly being impaled on the greatsword of the Warp Gods.

Khorne was a bit on the fence by this method of executing a foe, while he obhores magic users and sorceror, he still believes in a quick death or pain through combat, no need to make deaths slow and painful, both Nurgle and Laharl calmed him down, with Nurgle even saying, "Better...get...used...to this. Brother... Cause from...Laharl...has...mentioned...Slaanesh...and her...follower...do this...and...worse, as...a norm."

Khorne groaned loudly, cause sadly it was true, so they returned to observing the ever closing death of the infamous Hag Mother of Kislev, and just when the tip of the [Hellbane] was about to touch and pierce its victim, a now leaping Ulrika at Ixion, with her sword drew back, and hitting Tzeentch/Ixion on the back of his head.

Disrupting his concentration, and releasing his hold on Ostankya, as Ulrika has return to battle him.
