Chapter 367 - Prelude to the Tournament of Power

Jayr POV - Dragon Ball Universe(A.T.), Earth, West City - Age 796

I don't waste any more time and immediately make use of the Chant I decided beforehand, using Greek as the language, "Síko Dráko tou Politismoú kai dóse mou to myaló. Se prokaló Drakeos! (Arise, Dragon of Culture, and grant my wish. I evoke you, Drakeos!)"

In response to my Chant the Dragon Balls start to pulse with power releasing a gentle hum before they start to hover from the floor as they start to spin in a circular formation while they start glowing in a golden light that gets more and more intense the faster the Dragon Balls spin.

Then the Dragon Balls spin so fast that they form a single shining golden ring which quickly soars up in the endless starlit space and once the ring is so far that it looks like a small golden point, it quickly starts to enlarge turning into a gargantuan golden gate.

At this point, the Eternal Dragon I created starts to emerge from the massive golden gate and of course, the first thing to make its appearance is the head.

The head is very dragon-like, with sharp features, it has a prominent red and white crest and horn-like structure on its head, its eyes are fully green just like mine, and its mouth is open in a fierce, almost snarling expression, revealing sharp set of teeth.

Shortly after revealing its massive head, the Eternal Dragon lets out a fierce and proud roar before it quickly flies off the gate, fully revealing the rest of its body.

The Eternal Dragon has a long, serpentine body with a predominantly white or silver coloration, its scales are so small and tightly packed that they almost look like plain skin, and intricate, dark gray tribal-style markings are etched across its entire body, these markings seem almost like tattoos.

A long, flowing mane of bright yellowish-gold hair cascades from the top of its head, trailing behind it and adding to its ethereal appearance, and it shimmers slightly, making it almost look like flowing light.

Two large, pointed, bat-like wings extend from its back, sharing the same white-silver color and tribal markings as the rest of its body while its claws are sharp and dark red, accentuating its predatory look.

Overall, the Eternal Dragon gives the perfect feeling of power and otherworldliness that is expected of such a mighty creature.

Watching my massive creation as it flies around the endless starlit space created by its appearance, I can't help but smile proudly while thinking, 'As expected... Using a monster card from Yu-Gi-Oh's trading card game as inspiration and basis for my Eternal Dragon was the right choice! One can say whatever they want about the state of the game, but there is no denying that their artwork is of the highest quality possible. For a moment, I was tempted to use Slifer the Sky Dragon as the model for my Eternal Dragon, but while it is a cool-looking easter dragon, it looked a little too evil and edgy for a wish-granting dragon. This is why in the end I opted for the more regal and otherworldly Synchro Monster Ancient Sacred Wywern... and I'm glad I did as Drakeos is simply breathtaking!'

Regarding the name I chose for my Eternal Dragon, well, I opted to use the same pattern as the original Shenron whose name is the combination of the Chinese words Shen and Long and whose literal translation is "Dragon God", "Dragon Deity" or "Divine Dragon", basically, I opted for the same pattern but used Greek instead.

In the end, I combined the Greek word for Dragon, that is Drakon, with the Greek word for God, that is Theos, and the final result I came up with is Drakeos, simple, clear, direct, and easy to remember.

While I'm admiring the result of my work, I also enjoy the reactions of the people witnessing Drakeos' first summoning, especially that of Future Trunks, Future Bulma, Vegeta, Goku, and Goza who have already seen many Eternal Dragons.

"Wooah!!"

"How beautiful...!"

"It looks nothing like Shenron...!"

"Hmph! As long as it works, it doesn't matter how it looks!"

"I have to admit that it is very impressive... I'm surprised that Jayr was able to complete it in only a few hours..."

At this point, Drakeos focuses its gaze on me and in a strangely feminine voice it asks, "Thank you for bring me to life. What is your wish, my creator?"

I look at Drakeos in its green eyes and, after thinking about how to properly form my wish, I say, "I wish for all the damage caused by Zamasu and Black to be restored. This means that all the beings they have killed are going to be revived, and all the planets they have destroyed are going to be restored."

After hearing my wish, Drakeos immediatey replies, "It will be done..." before its green eyes shine brightly and through my Cosmic Awareness I immediately percieve that throughtout all the 12 universes planets are being restored and then people are being revived appearing a little confused by the sudden change.

Shortly after, Drakeos states, "Your wish has been granted, my creator... See you soon!"

After saying that, Drakeos turns into a beam of light that quickly flies toward the still-open golden gate created by the Dragon Balls before rushing into it.

As soon as Drakeos enters the gate, the golden gate shrinks until it fades away and then the Dragon Balls that are now turned into stone slowly start to descend.

At the same time, the phenomenon caused by the activation of the Dragon Balls also stops making the starlit space fade away as our surroundings return to a normal state.

Soon the Dragon Balls in their inactive state gently land in front of me, meanwhile an anxious Future Trunks asks, "Did it work...?" followed by a curious Bulma who ask, "Hey, Jayr. What did it mean with see you soon?"

Before I can answer them, Drakeos' feminine voice is heard once again, but this time it is much softer and cuter than before as it says, "It simply meant that I would see my creator soon. What else could that mean? And how dare you doubt my powers? How course it worked! With the immense powers granted by my creator something as simple like reviving a bunch of people and restoring some planets is a piece of cake!"

I smile as I look at the small, cute, almost cartoonish figure of Drakeos as it slowly rises from the ground and flies around me while thinking, 'This is the result of channeling Metamorphosis Magic into the state to bring everything to life, the Dragon Statue truly became alive and thanks to that, when the Dragon Balls aren't active Drakeos is in this much smaller form where it can freely enjoy its life.'

At this point, everyone focuses on the small, cute figure of the Eternal Dragon who calmly lands on my shoulder while looking at Future Trunks with clear disdain in its eyes before a curious Goku asks, "Isn't that the dragon that Jayr just summoned? Why is it here? Why is it so small? What's goin' on here?"

Hearing that, I calmly explain, "Well, I may have created a set of Dragon Balls, but I didn't use the Namekian Method nor the one used by the one who created the Super Dragon Balls. I used my own method, and as such, there are a few differences between my Dragon Balls and the ones you are used to. The first very clear difference is that I made it so that the Eternal Dragon isn't limited to appearing and acting only when the set of Dragon Balls is gathered and activated, but can freely move, go, and do whatever it wants. All the other Eternal Dragons are inactive and trapped for eons, only for them to have a brief moment of freedom that is only used to grant some wishes before becoming inactive once again, which I personally think is a very sad existence... So, I made sure that after my Eternal Dragon used its wishing power, instead of becoming completely inactive, it enters into something akin to a power-saving mode where it can freely wander around and enjoy its life."

In response to my explanation, Drakeos nods and says, "That's right! I am eternally grateful that my creator is so awesome and considerate! I truly feel sorry for the other Eternal Dragons, especially their pathetic existence and feeble powers. No wonder from time to time some Eternal Dragons turn evil or even create the Shadow Dragons when their negative feelings build up..."

I proudly grin and then I continue, "Another difference from the usual set of Dragon Balls..." but then Future Trunks interrupts me and exclaims, "W-Wait! Wait! Wait! Are we all going to ignore what the small dragon just revealed!? It said that some Eternal Dragons turned evil, and that some others created these Shadow Dragons when their negative feelings built up! Isn't that something very important that we have to take note of!?"

In response, Goku calmly waves his hand and casually reassures him, "Don't worry too much about that, Trunks. Goza already informed us about such danger a long time ago, he said that as long as we don't use the Dragon Balls too often there is no such danger... or something along those lines..." followed by Vegeta who adds, "And even in the case that something like that truly happens, you can still simply fight and defeat them!"

Shortly after they said that, I resume my explanation, "Anyways, like I was saying another difference from the usual set of Dragon Balls is that my set won't grant wishes that are considered evil or are from evil people instead of granting any wishes of whoever gather the Dragon Balls." which makes Future Bulma nod in appreciation while commenting, "This is quite good... Especially after learning that the whole mess with Black and Zamasu was the result of a wish granted by the super Dragon Balls..."

Suddenly, Future Zeno, followed by his attendants, appears in front of us and mutters, "That strange thing that happened originated from here..." before he looks at me and asks, "Hmm? Who are you? Are you the one who caused that strange change all over the 12 universes?"

While Vegeta is looking clearly uncomfortable and Goza silently explains who Zeno is to Future Bulma, Future Trunks, and Future Mai, I smile, greet Zeno, and say, "Hello there, Zen-chan. I'm Jayr, and I'm friends with another version of you. We often play some games together. Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I was the one who caused that phenomenon to appear all over the 12 universes. I created an Eternal Dragon to fix all the damage caused by a deranged Kai."

Hearing that, Zeno looks around while muttering, "Hmm? I see... It looks terrible... Maybe I should just erase everything... The 12 universes were stagnating for quite some time now..."

At this point, as Future Trunks and the other start to panic, I quickly call Zeno out and say, "Wait, Zen-chan! There is no need to erase everything yet... You see, I just restored everything, and usually after a great catastrophe like the one these universes just went through, there is a period of recovery and growth. Erasing everything now may just waste your opportunity to watch the 12 universes progress once more."

Hearing that Zeno looks at me, tilts his head, and hums, "Hmm...?" then after a few tense moments he nods and says, "Un, you may be right. I won't erase anything for now." which makes everyone release a huge sigh of relief.

After that, an idea comes to my mind and I quickly propose, "Hey, Zen-chan. If you are bored, why don't you come with me to an alternate timeline and spend some time playing with me and your other self? You may have some fun spending some time with us, you can also bring the Grand Minister and attendants with you if you want."

Zeno looks into my eyes for a few seconds, then he simply nods and says, "Un. I'll come." to which I smile and say, "Then return to your palace and talk with the Grand Minister so that you can prepare. I'll come and bring you all to the other timeline..."

Zeno waves his right hand and cheerfully says, "Okay. I'll wait. Bye, Jayr." followed by his attendants who do something similar to a military salute and say, ""Bye-cya!"" before they all teleport away with a flash of light.

After Zeno and his attendants are gone, we continue to talk for a few more minutes before Drakeos decides to move into my Soulbound Territory together with its inactive Dragon Balls, and Future Mai starts to quickly organize the recovery effort and how to deal with the people that got revived.

While she is doing that, Future Bulma and Future Trunks help Vegeta, Goku, and Goza get ready to leave by preparing and setting up the Time Machine for the trip back to the original timeline.

When Future Bulma and Future Trunks have done everything and checked everything, Future Mai also freed herself and she quickly joined back to them to say goodbye and thank us for everything we have done.

After that, Goku, Goza, and Vegeta step into the Time Machine repaired by Bulma and Future Bulma, and with Future Trunks' help, they activate it, starting their journey back to their timeline.

Shortly after the Time Machine disappeared in a flash of light, I also said goodbye to Future Trunks, Future Mai, and Future Bulma and then I calmly teleported to Zeno's Palace where I chatted with the Future Grand Minister and found out that he chose to remain in this timeline to keep to watch over the other universes trusting that his other self in the original timeline will also watch over Future Zeno.

After talking with the Grand Minister, I met up with Future Zeno and his attendants, and without wasting any more time, I expanded my senses and focused my Cosmic Awareness on finding the original timeline before I teleported us all there.

We appear directly within present Zeno's Palace, and once there, I quickly introduce Future Zeno, whom from now on I'll call in my mind Zeno-2, to Present Zeno, who will be called Zeno-1.

The two of them immediately become friends as Zeno-1 invites Zeno-2 to play Mario Kart with him and Patamon while the Grand Priest watches this scene with a smile on his face, a smile that grows bigger when Zeno-1 invites me to join them while Patamon looks at me with an evil grin on his face.

Seeing that, I let out a sigh and calmly walk toward the couch resigned to my fate of getting utterly destroyed at that damned game cursing my past self for unleashing such a plague in this universe while thinking, 'If it countinue like this the Tournament of Power may turn into a Tournament of Mario Kart... and I'm not sure if any universe is going to survive if that is the case. Maybe I should make Zeno play some fighting games like Tekken, Street Fighter, Capcom vs Marvel, Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and so on... But maybe I should avoid Mortal Kombat...! It wouldn't be fun if Zeno-1 and Zeno-2 get a taste for the Fatalities!'

Jayr POV - Dragon Ball Universe, Zeno's Palace - Age 780

Some time passed since the defeat of Zamasu and Black and I continued to stay at Zeno's Palace playing and watching animes with the Zenos to keep them entartained, but from time to time, I leave Zeno's Palace to go back on Earth to spend some time with Goza, Goku and the others, and I even regularly go back to my home universe to spend some steamy time with my wives while my incarnation plays with the kids.

During this period of peace, I kept training with the same intensity as before, but thanks to the improvements of my Blessing, I was able to completely master the other two Trump Cards I've developed in all these years.

Another thing that I did was use my Cosmic Awareness to watch over Goku, Goza, and the others as they lived their lives and prepared for the Tournament of Power.

One of the most notable events was that of Zeno summoning Goku to his palace to invite him in playing with him and Zeno-2, there they once again talked about the tournament for a bit before Goku left to return to Earth, but not before Zeno gave him the device that allows him to summon Zeno and to teleport to freely Zeno's Palace.

Now, as I'm watching the Zenos smashing the controllers' buttons while playing Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 against one another, I let my mind wander a bit while I use my Cosmic Awareness to check what is happening in the universe as usual.

Goku is drops some of his fresh farm produce off at the local market, but on his way home he spots a broken down truck at the side of the road and offers to help, however they turn out to be a trio of the most unlucky bandits in the universe pulling a scam who wish to steal Goku's new Air Truck, the Gull Wing, that Bulma had given Goku for work some time ago.

After refusing to give up the truck, the bandits attack Goku, but they are soon knocked out, but not before being scratched by a bullet, causing Goku to comment that he needs to get back in shape.

Goku then takes the unconscious bandits to the police station, where they give him a large financial reward because the bandits were wanted criminals.

With his newfound money, Goku wonders if Chi-Chi will finally let him get back to training.

Meanwhile, Goza is once again training with Cell in the Galactic Patrol's Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but I don't know what the two are exactly doing, not because my Cosmic Awareness can't sense what is going on inside, but because I refrain from spying training such training sessions too much as I don't want any spoliers for the upcoming Tournament of Power.

On the other hand, on Beerus' Planet, Vegeta continues his training with Whis, who comments that the Saiyan warrior has improved a lot with his attacks becoming sharper.

As Beerus watches on he notices that Vegeta is more into his training than usual with the Oracle Fish saying that it's probably because Goza was much more powerful than him and Goku during the battle with the Black to the point that in the end they could only watch as Goza fought Black without being able to do anything.

As Beerus decides to go to sleep, he says that the Oracle Fish's prophecy of them both being his biggest rivals was exaggerated, but the Oracle Fish confirms that they will indeed be his biggest rivals someday.

Aggravated by what the Oracle Fish said, Beerus challenges Vegeta to a fight.

Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue and fights with Beerus, but is quickly outmatched being unable to land a single blow.

Vegeta then focuses his ki and transforms into the same Perfected Super Saiyan Blue form that they used before against Black and attacks Beerus once more.

This time around, he is able to put on significantly more pressure than before, causing Beerus to get annoyed, but Whis says that Beerus is still just playing around.

Vegeta finally lands a punch on Beerus, but to little effect other than causing Beerus to lose his temper and quickly defeat Vegeta, saying that it would be a million years before he could become his rival, though he would be a possible candidate for a God of Destruction in another universe.

Whis compliments Vegeta's performance but says that he still thinks first and moves second, which limits him, and that he needs to make every part of his body act on its own, though he acknowledges that it is a difficult thing to master, with even Beerus being unable to yet.

Whis then offers to extend Vegeta's training time, but Vegeta refuses, saying that he needs to return home.

Back on Earth at the Capsule Corporation, Goku gets in touch with Whis and asks if he'd train him again, to which Whis agrees.

An hour later, Whis returns with Vegeta, who returned home because his pregnant wife, Bulma, is due to give birth any time now; it is basically a matter of days.

Goku then heads with Whis back to Beerus' planet, but before training, they all have a meal.

While eating the Daifuku that Goku brought along, he reminds Beerus of the all universes fighting Tournament that Zeno brought up before, but Beerus tells Goku not to bother Zeno anymore.

However, despite being urged to keep away from Zeno, Goku insists on the idea of knowing when the Tournament of Power will be held and without wasting any time, he immediately pulls out the Zeno's Buttom and presses the other side of the device that he had been given which starts to teleports him over to Zeno much to Beerus' dismay.

With Goku having teleported over to Zeno's Palace, Beerus is left behind in despair while asking how Goku and Zeno even met in the first place, and then Whis helpfully reminds him that it was due to Beerus and Champa's previous Tournament of Destroyers, making Beerus feel even worse.

Back at Zeno's palace, Zeno-1 and Zeno-2, are still playing an intese match at Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with Zeno-1 using the team Morrigan/Doom/Vergil while Zeno-2 is using C.Viper/Dante/Strider resulting in a battle of epic proportion the likes I've only seen in the videos of world-class gamers making me once more shudder at the gaming capacity of the Zenos to the point that I'm considering the idea of using them as my proxy in the case I Challenge another Champion in some kind of game.

After a very intese battle, Zeno-1 comes up on top thanks to Morrigan's Soul Drain loops making him declare, "I won!" followed by Zeno-2 who looks at the screen and comments, "Crap... 50 characters are a lot... It's hard to find the right combination..."

At this point, Zeno-1 tilts his head and repeats, "A lot? Now that I think about it, 12 universes are also a lot, right?" to which Zeno-2 immediately agrees, "They are..."

Zeno-1 then turns his head to look at his other self and asks, "Should we get rid of some?" which makes Zeno-2 quickly support the idea, "Yeah, let's."

At the same time, Patamon, who is listening to their discussion, shudders a little and in an excited tone, he mutters, "Oh yeah! The time has come! It's finally happening!" which makes me smile wryly while thinking, 'And here it goes... As expected from the Dragon Ball Multiverse, no period of peace lasts too long.'

Coming to that decision, Zeno-1 looks at the nearby Grand Minister and asks, "Hey, Grand Minister... How's the level of the 12 universes' mortals currently?"

In response, the Grand Priest professionally answers, "As usual, the 1st Universe is the mightiest, and following them is the 12th Universe, which, after their recent sudden growth, is now in 2nd place. The other universes haven't shown any particular growth and have more or less leveled off... As a whole, their level may even be decreasing..."

Hearing that, Zeno-1 comments, "So then they're not developing at all. So there's no point to having 12 of them, is there?" followed by Zeno-2 who adds, "Nope, nope." before Zeno-1 continues with his chain of reasoning, "And it's such a pain to have to keep watch over them all." only for Zeno-2 to once again add, "A total pain."

At this point, the Grand Minister asks in a curious but even tone, "Are you planning to reduce some again?" which makes the nearby attendants shudder while Zeno-1 comfirms, "That's right. I think four would be plenty." followed by Zeno-2 who says, "So let's get rid of the 8 that are at the lowest level."

Hearing the Zenos' decision, the Grand Minister bows, summons his staff, and says, "As you wish. Very well, then I shall recall the guides of those universes."

Just as the Grand Minister is about to contact his sons and daughter who are the attendants of the Gods of Destruction of the 12 universes, he stops as he senses the arrival of Goku, who finally arrived and is now waiting in front of Zeno's Palace, and exclaims, "Ohh, it appears we have a guest." before he adds, "Please wait just a moment, your majesties."
