I had my doubts when Finn told me that he wanted to hold an event for Faeryn. I knew that he had been stressed out since I had arrived about things that were going on within the kingdom, but I had no idea that it was this bad. That he was losing control of everything, and all because our children couldn’t get their act together.
Never in my life did I think I would be put into a situation where I’d have to think about other people over my own children, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re a ruler. You can’t always let your feelings get in the way of what’s important.
Rushing to Faeryn’s side, a cry escapes my throat as I fall to the floor next to her, pulling her into my lap. Her eyes flutter softly before brimming with tears. “I’m so sorry, mama.”
