Nefretiri
"Hello?" I called, my voice echoing in the dim lighting of where I was. "Is anyone here?"
I stood in the middle of a grand ballroom, but I'd never been there before. The room reminded me of old movies with elegant, glamorous palaces and screamed old world. Yet, it looked like the place hadn't been used in a long time. There were thick layers of dust, cobwebs, and decay everywhere. The place was still beautiful, but a sadness clung to the hall like it was screaming. It was hurting, and it wanted me to know it.
"Hello?!" I called again, trying not to feel as wary as I did.
Why was the fae trial sending me here?
This wasn't what I'd expected. I didn't know what was waiting for me, but an old ballroom with no one around wasn't one of them. Yet, there was something familiar about this place, even though I was sure I'd never been here before.
