Entering the pavilion, a burly man dressed in a black and white robe stood facing him, arms folded. After sizing up Liu Ming with a glance, the man stepped aside, saying:
"Go up the middle staircase, don't take the wrong one."
His voice was exceptionally hoarse.
Hearing this, Liu Ming finally saw the rather small space in front, where three narrow wooden staircases were aligned side by side, each leading to the second floor.
He walked up the stairs as told and found the area above dim to the point of seeing nothing clearly. There seemed to be some kind of restriction placed; even his divine sense seemed greatly limited.
Just as he was about to ask, there was a "whoosh" sound, and the entire space brightened. The staircase he had come up by had suddenly vanished without a trace.
