Plus, it goes to show she's not after him for his title and his wealth like so many pathetic she-wolves." announced Alpha River.
"Whatever!" shouted Amanda, irritably.
"Do you know who he is supposed to be engaged to ?" asked Tamar in an anxious tone.
"I believe Elise Lane as in the daughter of Elder Corbin Lane of the Supernatural Elder Council." revealed Alpha River in a matter-of - fact tone.
"I thought I heard something about them getting close after the death of her fate mate and his best friend, Charles. I thought it was some disrespectful shit at the time. I am telling both of you right now if I die and the two of you get together under the pretense of grief, I will come back and haunt y'all asses. That shit is nasty and disrespectful." proclaimed Beta Landon.
"Noted!" chuckled Alpha River, shaking his head at his best friend.
"Okay! Noted! But, why are we discussing your death? I don't want to talk about anything happening to you. We are going to grow old together and play with our great-great-grandchildren. You promised a long, full and happy life. Besides, no offense Alpha River, but he is not my type. I need more pigmentation in my life." demanded Tamar as she picked up her phone and sent a message in the group chat with her best friends, sisters Gamma Maya and Shari, from the Night Walker Pack.
Everyone in the dining hall busted out laughing at Beta Tamar's words. She was known for being direct to the point and for being brutally honest.
Group Chat:
Tamar: "Hey! I need your help. Alpha Kevin just claimed Miriam as his fate mate at the damn hockey game. Alpha River thinks he might be engaged.
Maya: I am on it. Who does he think that Alpha Kevin is engaged too?
Shari: I don't believe it. I always thought she would be our brother's mate or Alpha Darren's son, Rowan. Rowan just claimed an Omega male named Jeremiah. I didn't even know he was gay.
Tamar: Well, damn! I think he is bisexual if it helps. It would have been cool if she ended up with your brother. I know he would treat her well. Besides, I know he was heartbroken when we left. Elise Lane, the daughter of Elder Corbin Lane of the Supernatural Elder Council
Maya: Not good. Everyone knows that he is for sale to the highest bidder, but he is so slippery. He always stays one step ahead of everyone and nothing has ever been able to be proven. Tamar: I need it tonight. They are at the game, and then they plan to eat pizza. After that, he plans to take her home so we can talk. I made her promise to text me once they got to the restaurant.

They pull up in front of the popular pizza and American dishes restaurant called Chat-n-Chew.
"Is everything okay? Was that your sister?" asked Alpha Kevin in a concerned tone. "Yes, and everything is fine! She was just checking in." responded Miriam, giving him a nice sweet smile.
"Short stacks. I can't believe you are my brother's mate. You are going to be our Luna, and I am going to be your trusted Beta. Short stacks can you fight? Or do we need to teach you?" probed Walker.
"I am a Montgomery and, of course, I know how to fight. Honesty, trust and loyalty are very important to me in any relationship." confessed Miriam.
"Like of the legendary Montgomery bloodline? I thought that bloodline died years ago." inquired Dean.
"My sister Tamar and I are the last standing of our powerful Moor royal bloodline." declared Miriam confidently.
"Is it true that the Montgomery bloodline possesses powers?" asked Brent.
"My sisters and I certainly don't have any powers." chuckled Miriam. They exited the vehicles and entered the restaurant and took a seat at their reserved table.
"I can't believe my girl is your mate, Alpha Kevin. Wow! This is so exciting. I still don't understand how this is even possible. You are not supposed to be able to detect your mate till your eighteenth birthday. How is this possible? Do you feel the matebond, Miriam? Have you told your sister and her husband yet? Damn, I would love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation." asked Kandi.
"I don't feel anything. I have to take his word for it. And if I am being honest, I find it hard to wrap my head around following someone blindly into such a serious relationship. I keep thinking about what my father would advise me to do in this situation. Yes, my sister Tamar and her mate Beta Landon and Alpha River are aware of our newly discovered situation." revealed Miriam.
"You think I am lying to you about you being my mate." voiced a shocked and hurt Alpha Kevin as he struggled with controlling his wolf.
"I am not calling you a liar. I am just pointing out the fact that currently this is a one-sided matebond. I need to figure out what's fair to you and fair to me until it turns into an both-way matebond. I am open to suggestions." informed Miriam as her wolf, Cleopatra admitted she really liked speaking with his wolf already as she took his hand and stroked it.
"My wolf will not be happy if I don't see you every day. But, I understand how you feel." confessed Alpha Kevin sadly.
"Besides, I barely know you. However, I know I would like the opportunity to get to know you. Can I ask you a few questions?" asked Miriam.
"Sure!" answered Alpha Kevin.
"What is your favorite food? "
"Lasagne!"
"What is your favorite color?"
"Black or Navy"
"What is your favorite movie?"
"Star Wars"
"Do you have any kids?"
"No! Absolutely, not."
"Have you ever been in love? Had a long-term girlfriend? I mean you are older than me and I know you are not a virgin. I won't blame you or be mad with you for anything that happened before me. I just want an open, honest, truthful and respectful relationship moving forward. We can't build a healthy relationship built on lies and betrayal." probed Miriam.
"No! You are right. I am not a virgin. No! I have never been in love and I have no long-term girlfriend on my end." replied Alpha Kevin.
"Cool! That's wonderful! So there is nothing I needed to know?" she replied as she noticed Walker and the other guys looked tense.
"Nothing except for the fact that I am looking forward to getting to know you and spoiling you." replied Alpha Kevin.
At that moment, Miriam decided to wait till she went home to her sister for back-up. She didn't want this conversation to go left.
"Kandi! I did tell my sister and if I know my sister, the whole pack knows by now. My sister is very overprotective of me and will go to hell and back for me. She was willing to give up her own mate for me. She is a walking lie detector and can smell bullshit a mile away. My sister, Tamar, is not afraid to call bullshit either, Alpha Kevin. Am I clear?" announced Miriam.
"Loud and clear." chuckled Alpha Kevin as his pack members looked very nervous, and it didn't go unnoticed by Miriam and Kandi.
