There's an alarm going off throughout the building. It's a little late for that; the people who wanted to go have probably already fled, and it's about time I did, too.

I tore toward the exit I remembered I'd passed that place more than once in my wheelchair.

When I ran out into the hall, I saw a few dead bodies and a mess, but there were no survivors, so I rushed to the stairs to the floor below. There were four floors in the building, and I was being held on the last one, the Riot floor. On the other floors, the patients were more adequate, if you could say so, and certainly calmer.

When I went down to the fourth floor I immediately saw other patients, some of them were sitting on the floor and banging their heads, some of them were screaming or laughing, in general it was lively here, of course there were no corpses, and there were no doctors in sight. They seemed to have gotten away, I think they did the right thing, a lot of people here suffer even more from their pills, so the first people who would want to kill the runaways would be the poor doctors. I didn't stay long, and started down the fire escape. I reached the first floor with quick steps and immediately heard a noise.

«Attention! Stay where you are! Everyone please stay calm! - Someone was on the loudspeaker. Yes, and I could hear the sound of police sirens, they seemed to have taken control of the situation, not good.... I looked out the door and saw a lot of cops standing with shields and batons, and in front of them was a bunch of crazies. Most of them were all covered in blood and acting inadequate. Also at the end of the whole group of crazies, were quite intelligent and were waiting for a good chance to escape from here. Yeah, looks like that's my chance too... The lunatics will draw the cops' attention to themselves, and I'll get the hell outta here.

Then it's settled... As soon as I got ready, most of the crazies rushed straight at the cops and the massacre started, nobody shot at them, they were just beaten with batons, but that was enough. The line of cops quickly shook and they started to be overpowered by numbers. At that moment I sneaked into the crowd of crazies and started to wait for the moment.

It was chaos all around, some of them were beating the cops, some of them were being beaten with a baton, and I was trying to see if I could find a good opportunity. I could break through the police barricade, but I doubt they'd let me get away, what if there was another squad? I doubt they'd be so polite, they'd probably shoot right away. So... This is it!

I saw the back of one of the cops, who was a little behind the squad and had already been knocked out by the psychos, lying unconscious and showing no signs of life. I pushed through the crowd towards him and dragged him away. Then began to strip him of his gear and quickly change his clothes. Unfortunately, he didn't have a gun or anything better than a baton, but that was enough for me. I just hope I can make a quick dash and these psychos don't finish me off in a mob, thinking I'm one of the cops.

I quickly changed my clothes, put my helmet and balaclava on my face, then armed myself with a shield and a baton, and quickly rushed to the most unprotected place. As soon as the sick people noticed me, they immediately rushed towards me, I did not delay and just pushed them out of the way.

«Come on, come on! - I struggled, but they kept coming at me like a herd of zombies, some grabbing my legs, some throwing themselves at my shield. Almost exhausted, I could see a more or less straight line of policemen, who seemed to have come to my aid. I rushed toward them, and they parted to let me through.

«Hooh, made it. - I exhaled heavily.

Someone clapped me on the shoulder and mouthed:

«Get some rest man, we're here to end this shit, it'll be over soon. - Saying that, a man in the same gear as me got into formation and marched into the crowd of crazies. Then there was clapping.

* Bang * * Bang *

And a white-yellow gas spread, and the color of it was tear gas... Heh, you guys are screwed. Well, come on, I gotta get outta here. I walked towards the detectives who were near the police cars watching the situation.

When I saw a couple of detectives, I was a bit taken aback, no way..... Maybe I'm imagining things. Ahem, no it's definitely them... There were two detectives standing there, one was a black man slightly bald and the other was a blond white man. I recognized them right away because I'd seen them around... Joe West, and Edward Thawne, how is that possible?

Okay, screw them, I'll deal with them later, now there's something I need to do. I walked towards Thawne and bumped into him, then stepped back and said:

«I'm sorry, Detective, I didn't mean to do that.

The blond waved his hand and said with a smile:

«It's okay. It happens.

I nodded and started to walk away with quick steps, but suddenly I heard it:

«Hold on, kid.

I turned around and saw Joe walking in my direction, as I approached he asked:

«Are you from the first group?

I just nodded, I guess the man's gut is pretty good, he's sensing something....

«I see... All right, go get some rest, the rest of us should be fine, the others in your group are over there. - The detective pointed toward one of the ambulances.

I just nodded and started walking away, just in the direction of the ambulance so as not to be suspicious. I had to get away as fast as I could without anyone noticing I was missing.

I took quick steps around the ambulance and disappeared into one of the alleys, and exhaled a sigh of relief.

Hoo, that's it, it wasn't that easy, that detective has good instincts, too bad he doesn't understand them well.... Although, even if he realized I was one of the escapees, he wouldn't be able to stop me, especially when I have a gun.

I quickly threw away my shield and baton, as well as my helmet and police patch. Well, I'd have to change clothes anyway, and this would make it a lot easier.... I looked at my left hand, which held the brand-new pistol I'd privatized from Detective Thawne, and grinned.

So much for freedom, fine...
