Chapter 7 - The End of the Tournament (Part 1)

Something's there… I saw so many things… but now, even though just a second has passed, I've already forgotten…

"Argh… my head…"

"Huh? Kevin… you're awake, huh? How are you feeling? Wait, what kind of question is that…" Bıfrat said.

"Heh…"

Kevin slowly opened his eyes.

Once again… a hospital.

"Not bad, kid…"

"Argh… whatever… I'm in the grand finals… huh?"

At that moment, the door opened, and a few people stepped inside.

"Kevin?"

"Yes, that's me."

"You've made it to the grand finals, you know. Are you continuing, or dropping out?"

"I'm continuing… I'll fight in the grand final. Who's my opponent?"

"Admiral Anchor. Sign here." (Signs) "Good. The match begins one week from now, at 10:00 PM sharp."

"Alright."

The officials left.

"One week… that's plenty of time to recover…"

"She came to visit."

"Who? Emily?"

"Yeah…"

"So?"

"You were unconscious… You've been out for almost a full day. Anyway, I'm heading out. You focus on resting."

Bıfrat stood up and walked to the door.

"Kevin… when you're asleep… do you see anything?"

"Like what?"

"I don't know. Do things happen?"

"They do, Bıfrat… but when I wake up, it all just vanishes…"

"I see…"

He left the room. Silence returned.

The soft breeze outside… people's voices… all of it blended into the background, and just like that, Kevin drifted off into sleep again, as if he hadn't already slept for 23 hours.

Time sure flies, doesn't it?

Next thing he knew, it was morning.

Kevin woke up. And strangely enough, despite being shattered the day before, he didn't feel any pain. How?

He got up, changed, and stepped outside.

Right in front of the hospital, he ran into Emily.

"Oh! I was just coming to see you… You're looking well."

"Yeah… as you can see."

"Wanna take a walk?"

"Why not?"

And so, they left the hospital garden together…

Time… really does fly. As they spent time together, they didn't even realize how quickly the hours passed.

It seemed like Emily wanted to show her gratitude to the guy who helped her.

But wait… hadn't she already offered him food?

Ah, right. The meal Kevin totally messed up by collapsing.

Eventually, their wandering brought them to the entrance of "Liberty Park" — the place where the remains of the legendary "Statue of Liberty" were preserved.

"My brother's picking me up here… Don't worry. You can go."

"You sure?"

"Yes, don't worry."

"Alright then. See you."

Kevin walked away slowly.

He didn't go far. But suddenly, an idea popped into his mind.

He had ruined her offer for a meal.

And she clearly cared about him.

Why not treat her to a meal himself?

Yes… he turned back… quickly headed back…

But as he rounded the corner—

Emily was there… but she wasn't alone…

Who was that beside her?

A figure clad in a massive black cloak, hood pulled over his face, showing only his chin and mouth…

Had Kevin seen him somewhere before?

"Seems he's quite famous…"

Yes… Admiral Anchor…
