The sun was shining over the Hidden Leaf Village. It was a warm, gentle day. Birds flew above the rooftops. Children laughed. Parents smiled. The streets were full of people moving around. Everyone was busy.
But one boy stood in the middle of it all, smiling like he had just won the world.
His name was Naruto Uzumaki.
He was wearing a black and orange jacket, his forehead protector tied tightly across his head. He looked up at the sky, letting the sunlight hit his face.
"I finally did it," Naruto whispered. "I'm a ninja now."
He had just passed the graduation test at the academy. It was not easy. He had failed before. Many times. But this time… he made it.
He walked through the village, hands behind his head, feeling proud. Some people still gave him cold looks, like they didn't believe in him. But Naruto didn't care. Not today.
He turned down a quiet street near Ichiraku Ramen. The smell of noodles made his stomach growl.
But then, everything stopped.
Literally.
The wind stopped blowing.
The sounds of people disappeared.
Even the birds froze in mid-air.
Naruto stood still. His heart beat faster.
"W-What's going on?"
And then he heard it.
A voice.

Naruto thought for a second. Then he grinned.

Naruto stared.
