Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen: The Contract of the Underworld

Despite the fall of the Tribunal, something darker loomed.

Late one night, deep within the restructured Bureau, Kai Lin accessed a file labeled only:

> **S-Ω: The Underworld Contract.**

> Status: Obscured Entity – Active.

> Remarks: "Unknown entity embedded within mirror law system. Identified as a cross-dimensional soul capable of rewriting spiritual contracts."

Kai Lin's hands tightened.

"He's still out there," she whispered.

Lu Feng read over her shoulder. "The one who wrote the original Mirror Law..."

"The one who gave the Tribunal its power. The so-called Contractor."

---

The team assembled in the underground archive.

Zhao Ting laid out ancient scrolls. "According to the myth, the Underworld Contractor traded memory for control. He lives between dimensions. Not truly a spirit, not truly human."

"Then how do we find him?" Chen Xi asked.

Lu Feng stepped forward. "We don't."

"We summon him."

He held up a broken soul mirror—the last shard from the Mirror Master's fall.

"I carry his echo. He'll come for me."

---

They formed a summoning ring in the ancient rites chamber.

As the sigils glowed, the room dimmed.

Then—black fire erupted.

A voice echoed from nowhere and everywhere.

> "You dare call me?"

From the darkness, a figure emerged—robed in shadows, face concealed.

"You," Lu Feng said. "The one behind it all."

"I am the writer of balance. The enforcer of the pact. The one who offers choice."

"You offered enslavement," Kai Lin snapped.

"No," the Contractor said slowly. "I offered power. They chose corruption."

"You gave them the tools."

"And now," the Contractor hissed, "you bring change. You are anomaly. You must be deleted."

Dark chains lashed out.

Lu Feng raised his hand. His own chains met them midair.

> "You signed a contract with the Bureau."

> "I never signed."

> "Then let me rewrite the terms."

Their energies clashed. The chamber quaked.

Lu Feng's spirit flared white-hot as he called upon every memory, every battle, every soul he had touched.

"I choose humanity."

A final surge of light shattered the Contractor's form.

The chains fell limp.

And the last seal was broken.
