Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Another unlucky RWBY member

Last night was awfully displeasurable. Weiss had a nightmare that nearly soaked her pillow with her sweat, and till now, even when in Oobleck's class, Weiss somehow still feels those sweat lingering in her head despite having taken a shower this morning. It felt icky and made her contemplate running back to the dormitory so she could shower again.

But she'll need a good excuse for that, which she doesn't have right now.

That aside, why did she have such odd dreams last night? It was strange and incomprehensible to dear Weiss. Furthermore, it showed something so unamusing that her hands couldn't help but clutch tightly, restlessness overcome as the dream replayed itself in her head. The dream from beginning to end was absurd. Becoming like her dad! That will never happen. It just wasn't possible. How can she, who strives to revive the honor and prestige of her family name, succumb to such a repulsive thing? Thankfully, it was only some silly dream and hardly needed her to dwell on it.

Truthfully speaking, Weiss believed with enough grit and resolve, she'd succeed in her quest to make her family name ring with nothing less than honor and prestige. When she eventually succeeds, the rumors about how corrupt the SDC will certainly fade. Weiss was gonna make sure that happened. Or die trying!

Sigh… Other than that, last night's dream was really too vivid. It clung to her and seemed impossible to fade; at least, not anytime soon. But she hopes it fades, not wanting it to distract her any further. Contrary to what she wanted… Even as she sat down on the stool, the memories of the dream, the words and the expression of everyone from it was still floating in her head, and clearly. It just doesn't fade, maybe it was too soon for it to disappear in the back of her mind yet. Though enough time should suffice…

Before she realized it, a sense of dazed and slight agitation welled up. Subconsciously Weiss envisioned the possibility of that dream becoming a reality.

No, it's not ever happening! She shook her head quickly.

That was right, it truly will never happen… because she was Weiss Schnee

While in thought, her smooth, soft fingers, thumbed on the pen held in her hand rhythmically. And it wasn't long until it invited the attention of dear Obleack. Who addresses her with his usual speedy tone. A tone which all students had a hard time baring because of how fast it was. For instance, his talking speed was far worse than Nora's. "Miss Weiss Schnee!"

"Ah, yes!" The abnormally speedy voice broke her reverie instantly. Weiss almost jumped out of her seat, she was partly confused and partly stressed that she'd actually let her thoughts wander to the point where a teacher had to snap her out of it. How shameful! This shouldn't have occurred to the noble Schnee. What will her older sister think of it?

At the forefront, standing with his back straight, Oobleck nudged his glasses and spoke. "I hadn't peg you to be the type who will doze off in class. Hmm, is something bothering you? Are you still worried about Ms. Rose? I assure you she'd be fine, just need some more time. Then she'll be all but better, and perhaps more quick on her feet then before. Have some faith in your captain."

In the midst, Professor Oobleck glances at the snoozing Ruby, opting to not interrupt her nap. He knew and considered the fact that Ruby hadn't slept these past days. Which was all the more reason to not interrupt his dear student's slumber. As a psychiatrist he knew the necessity of quality sleep.

Upon hearing Ruby's name, Weiss glanced at the sleepy Ruby, then thought. She won't mind me using her as an excuse. Uh, how shameful that I'm doing this! Weiss cleared her throat and said. "Yeah, that… um was what I had been space out about. Not because I was thinking about something else." Her right hand moved to her chest. "Sorry for causing an interruption in your class, I hereby assure you it won't ever happen again."

Oobleack was quick to reply. "Excellent! But to be fair, thinking about your captain's well-being was something I'd never put against you. Now let us resume the class." And so he began his lecture again like usual.

Dozens of seconds flew by. While listening to the ongoing babbling of Oobleck; Weiss turned her head to the side… only to find Ruby struggling to hold her drowsiness after waking from her nap. Last night was rocky for the both of them, albeit Weiss didn't wake others with a shout like Ruby. Though she feared the team may have noticed her excessive sweating, hopefully no one mentioned it.

To be honest, Weiss neither wants others to know nor does she want to explain to others about her dream. It was something better kept secret. In the end, she wasn't like Ruby and prefers to keep certain things to herself. That said, Oobleck was spot on. Now that she looks at Ruby, her worries about Ruby grow. Something truly hard to believe, considering she is Weiss Schnee after all. Perhaps this was why Yang was beginning to take notice of this, and even Weiss herself was sometimes baffled about it. Wasn't this like babysitting Ruby and looking out for her like a mother?

At the same time, not knowing that this was just the start of her experience. A terrible fate awaits Weiss… just like it did for Ruby. Perhaps a chaotic chin-reaction was beginning to take shape.

The class goes about at a normal pace.

Without much happening, the team zoomed through all the classes. The instant the last period ended, Weiss, feeling a lack of energy, headed back to the dormitory. Placing that dream out of her mind was harder than expected. It sure irks her.

The next day.

As the morning sun rose from the horizon, Weiss shot up with a sweat covered forehead. Gasping slowly as her heart raced faster than normal. Obviously, she had another long nightmare. One that was similarly vivid like the previous night, except, different but not any worse. Panting heavily, Weiss frowned imperceptibly. "Again! Why though?!" She grumbled, the tone coming from her lips were grimy. She couldn't understand it. What could possibly cause her to have these nightmares, furthermore, on more than one occasion no less. Weiss lifted her hand and pressed her glabella, massaging them for a few seconds.

Although she tries to put dreadful dreams at the back of her head, it was turning out to be quite troublesome. Especially when it occurred more than once.

Whatever the case, after some thought she forced herself out of bed, but before going into the bathroom for a shower.

Weiss took a peak at Ruby, upon seeing that Ruby was fine.

She heaved a sigh of relief. These days it has been habitual to check up on Ruby before doing anything else. And seems like it wasn't gonna go away anytime soon as long as Ruby has continuous nightmares. If you think about it, she is moving toward becoming a mom for Ruby. It was a mystery if Weiss knew that or it just hadn't crossed her mind but… evidence stands for itself.

Taking a step down, Weiss heaved with a slow breath.

"Seems you're proactive as usual."

"Uh?" Startled, Weiss deftly turned and saw the cat-ears and ember eyes companion. It was no one else but Blake, the feline Faunus. Currently donning her black yukata and holding a book in her hand. After seeing Blake and the snoring Yang below, she narrowed her brows, inquiring. "How long have you been awake, and please tell me you haven't been watching for long. It's rude to spy on someone. Surely you've been taught that?"

"…" Blake's brows moved, then said softly after some momentarily paused. "No. I just happened to wake up a second ago. Except for when you stepped down after checking up on Ruby. I saw nothing. You can be assured of that." After that, Blake then steered her gaze back to the book. On the other hand, Weiss heaved a sigh of relief. It was great that Blake didn't see her waking up with gasping breath. She didn't need anyone telling her that she needs to rest her mind and body.

After all, she believed she didn't require it.

Whatever the case, Weiss was not gonna let it trouble her in any way. With that said, she strode to the bathroom and closed the door behind. At the same time, Blake averted her ember eyes back in her direction, staring at the bathroom. To be honest, she was awake before Weiss… and had caught a glance of the gasping Weiss. To her, it seemed Weiss was having a bad dream to have woken up with such a heavy gasp.

A tint of worry couldn't help but show in her eyes.

Perhaps the fiasco with Ruby made her prone to this now. Or the fact that the person whom she now considers friend may be in for some untold apprehension—something she most certainly does not want happening. She really hopes nothing bad will happen to Weiss.

Meanwhile, JNPR was having trouble with their heavy sleeper comrades, namely Nora Valkyrie. To say bluntly, such things happen often, and sadly none of them could get Nora out of her habit. Priorly, they were able to wake her with the whisper of pancakes, but it would seem Nora has gained some resistance towards it.

Now, they have to figure out another method to wake her.

But what could that method be? The leader of JNPR began to ponder, then for no less than two minutes, a spark of ideas sprang forth. So he walked over to Nora, lowered his head closed to her ears, then whispered. "Ren has snapped out of his senses… he wants to know if you could accompany him to Vale—alone. Like a dat-" An arm raised from below, elbowing him on the chin, and then a thumping sound rang out immediately.

"Oof!" groaned Jaune as he felt stars entering his vision.

"Really!" Shriek Nora as a burst of happiness mixed with panic and surprise unfolded one by one on her face, clueless that she elbowed her leader a moment prior.

"Ahh!" Shriek Jaune as he grasped his chin. That woke her up but he honestly regretted his actions. Aura may coat injuries but not pain! The blow to the chin was powerful, which he expected no less from his hyperactive teammates. Nearby, Pyrrha sucked in a dosage of air, then cried out instantly. "Jaune, are you okay!"

Jaune waved his hand, saying with a slight grimik. "I, uhm… fine! I think?"

Of course, he wasn't okay! His chin felt like it had broken, luckily it shouldn't be!

No wonder she swung her mallet like it was a wooden stick. She had the strength equal to Yang's immense power! Both of them are gorillas cloaked in human skin! Oh no, don't tell me they're really gorillas in human form?! If Yang or Nora can spy on his thoughts, he wouldn't escape a good beating. Who calls a lady a gorilla?

By this time, Nora had snapped out of her disillusion and turned her gaze to the captain. Slight confusion registered on her face as she asked. "Fearless Leader, what happened to you? How did you get hurt? Tell me and I'll hammer the person who did that to you."

Are you gonna hammer yourself if I tell you? He grumbled inwardly. Not far apart from them, Ren took a step forward and shook his head. "You're the cause of that Nora." Nora blink for a second before inquiring. "Me? Why would I do that?" Ren sighed and explained shortly, though he didn't know what Jaune whispered in her ear to have Nora suddenly shot up like that, but he had the intuitive feeling he shouldn't ask. Once Nora realized that it was her doing, she stretched her head awkwardly, cheeks flushing. However, she realized something crucial after a momentary thought. "Hold on a minute, isn't it Saturday, why did you guys try to wake me up this early?"

Ren almost wanted to massage his temple. At the same time, as the pain left him, Jaune chided, expression unfriendly. "You told us to wake you up early last night since you went on about Vale. You said in Vale downtown, a special time-limited sale for pancake-parfait is sold today. And you said you'll hold us to it if we let you miss out on the dessert. Which is why we're trying to get you up." He rubbed his chin, "A thank you would be nice right now."

"Ah. Oh… hahaha… Thank you." Nora awkwardly fumbled her unkempt hair. Blush appeared on her cheeks once again, feeling slightly embarrassed. "Heh, I almost forgot about that."

Pyrrha smiles, holding back a sigh. "We understand."

Jaune mumble in complaint. "Almost forgot? If I have to guess the obvious, you clearly forgot all about it."

…

Ruby stares out the window, the breeze touching her face as her eyes wander. It was a nice sunny day, which should have been a day where her livelihood bolsters with unprecedented energy. However, these days all she ever felt was daze and apprehension, as if the once beautiful time was escaping before her silver eyes. And she couldn't grasp it back anymore.

Last night she had two more nightmares.

Like every nightmares one has, it never feels great to wake up from it.

To top it off, since last week every nightmares since then were vivid—super clear in her mind. To be honest, usually Ruby feels sullen or agitated when she has nightmares. Yet now she felt drained and often felt like the sky was falling before her eyes. Thankfully, all of her teammates and friends were very considerate. They were caring, thoughtful, and Ruby could see that they did their best in taking care of their useless captain.

Truth be told, Ruby felt shameful about worrying them.

Above all, Ruby was ashamed that she let her nightmare get the better of her, however, could the other truly understand her situation? Every day, every night, when you just want to rest your mind and have a blissful cozy sleep, but only to wind up with a horrorish nightmare that gnaws at your sprite. Could any of them understand that! Sure countless people have nightmares in the worst of nights, yet does any of it keep on going like her's. She didn't think so. Most of all, Ruby still doesn't understand why she keeps having it.

Unbeknownst to Ruby, Yang slowly snuck up from behind.

Drawing in a toothy grin, her hand slowly made its way to Ruby's shoulder while her face was inches away from Ruby's ear. "Boo!" Yang boo, hoping to surprise Ruby so it can shade some light in Ruby haggard eyes. Unfortunately for her, that has no effect whatsoever. With many nightmare scenes vividly displayed in her head, such things hardly could get her to flinch.

Seeing that Ruby hadn't flinched a single bit, Yang sighed slowly. "I thought that'll get a rise out of you. Are you still not feeling any better?"

Ruby growled. "Leave me alone. And yes, I'm fine… I think?" The last part was spoken at a whisper level. It was clear as day, Ruby was not fine, perhaps beginning to lose her sanity. It was only under intensive care from everyone that she still saw some light and warmth. And she was ever grateful for it. Yang shook her head, refusing to leave at the dismay of Ruby. "Can't do that Rube, you'll get worse if you're left alone."

"I won't," retorted Ruby.

"You will," replied Yang.

Ruby stares with narrow brows. "Look, I know how much I'm worrying you guys. But I'm serious, I'm fine today, and all I want is some alone time to myself. Yang, don't you get it?" Hearing her, Yang paused thoughtfully. At the same time, seemingly observing Ruby from head to toe. If she didn't know Ruby like the back of her head, she'd have thought Ruby was slowly getting better. However, in her sisterly foresight, Ruby didn't need alone time, what she needed was more support and care.

Luckily her big sister was ready to accompany her, always. Lips moving for a second, Yang's eye glitter mischievously as she suggested. "Why don't you and I have some bonding time? What do you think? It'll do you some good and… I promised it'd leave you wanting more. Really."

"Again?"

Ruby wanted to be alone, Weiss could see it in Ruby's silver eyes, which was why she left the dormitory, but that wasn't the only reason why she left. Another reason was that she wanted some alone time herself. Furthermore, she was called in by Oobleck to ask about Ruby's condition. This was because Ruby still hasn't been doing well in class. It was very concerning for the professor who has to look out for his students' health.

He knew that Ruby had not been sleeping well, but seeing that his suggestion didn't help back then he became awfully puzzled. The nurse was just as puzzled about this matter.

Upon arriving at Oobleck's office, Weiss spoke with him for some time before heading back.

Walking amidst the hall, Weiss sometimes felt a mix of absentmindness and the growing sense of agitation. Generally speaking, this was normal for someone who woke up with a bad dream, and obviously this applied to Weiss. This was another reason why she left Ruby alone, because she wasn't feeling right and she didn't want to show it. A couple minutes passed, as she walked by other student's in the hall, she stumbled upon Blake who had returned from the library.

The moment the two saw each other, their eyes made content. Amber pupils lock onto ice-blue, and ice-blue locks onto amber. They were quiet for a second before Weiss initiated the first word. "Thought you'll still be in the library by this time? Don't you spend most weekends there?" Said Weiss as she thought back to the amount of time Blake spent in the library. Honestly, it was good to read books as it can bring peace of mind and extend one's horizon. However, too much isn't wanted either.

Despite viewing herself to be knowledgeable about all the members of RWBY, often she doesn't know what goes through the head of Blake. Maybe because Blake was the type who doesn't speak or show many expressions at times, causing her to be unable to read Blake's mind when she wanted to.

Aside from that, Blake does show much more opinion of things and speaks with them more after the Roman Tochwick incident back at the docks.

Which was an improvement in Weiss' opinion. Though her expression was impassive and frigid as ever. Weiss wasn't sure if she liked it or not. But on a second thought, with Yang and Ruby, it was good that at least one of them was a quiet individual.

Her eyes roamed around Blake, when it landed on the two cat ears, her eyebrows flickered. In an instant, countless of those awful vivid dreams envelop her mind. Weiss couldn't help but frown at that moment. Seems like the dream affected her more than she thought.

Blake wore an impassive expression for the most of time, and was a person of few words, only speaking in matters she considered important. With a calm voice, she said, "I managed to get done with my business faster than I anticipated today. Hmm… Ruby and Yang are probably still together, you plan to go back?" Upon hearing Blake, Weiss eyebrows rose sharply. "Those two are together? Didn't Ruby want to be alone?"

Blake's lips move, words tumble out as she clarifies to Weiss quickly but softly. "Yang was persistent in having a bonding between them, so… Ruby gave in, it seems. Was what I overheard while in the bathroom, of course." Her eyelashes flutter, and she added after a slight pause. "When I left the dormitory, they were there, though it's likely they went out somewhere. Knowing Yang, she's probably dragging Ruby around the campus or maybe they went to Vale."

The latter part had Blake lips turning in a bemused charm.

But shortly, it disappears in a quick manner similar to how it had appeared.

After hearing Blake, for a short moment, Weiss ponders what to do. Then something else hit her, the nightmare from last night and the day before made her mood sour. It painted a very disagreeable description of her sister and her companion, and she didn't like it. So she thought, should I talk with Winter? She was hoping this could clear her mind. A little conversion with her admirable older sister could lead to good results, maybe after that, she won't have such a dream anymore! However, after some thought she quickly erased that idea from her mind. It was too embarrassing to talk to Winter about such a thing.

As for Blake, who stood just a few inches from her, she wasn't certain what to feel about the dream she had about this comrade of hers. She didn't expect to dream of being the bad guy who used Faunus. To that, she wondered if Blake still thought of her that way like how they first met during Beacon entrance. "Sigh…" this was all very exhausting to think about.

And Weiss was already exhausted as it is… she didn't need anymore of it.

At this time, Blake scrutinizes Weiss' expression, while recalling the panting Weiss who woke with beads of sweat. To her keen vertical-slit-cat pupis, Weiss seems to deteriorate in a faint haggard look. Albeit barely noticeable even if you scrutinized Weiss.

Blake inheld softly, inquiring out curiosity. "Why did you wake up panting so much this morning?"

"Huh?!" Her graceful petite figure winced.

…

Later this afternoon… JNPR had returned, tagging along with Yang and Ruby.

You see they were lucky to have not missed the special sale; or god, they will not hear the end of Nora's complaint afterwards. That said, to summarize their day… After Nora had her fill eating those special monthly sell pancakes, they decided to tour Vale since they had nothing to do back in Beacon Academy. Which was a disaster considering the fact that Nora dragged them around everywhere—they were exhausted.

While there, nearing the start of noon, they encounter Yang, who was dragging Ruby around. From then on they hung out together, went to an arcade, ate ice cream and more. Later, Yang, at her expense, made them head to a club with them. Something Jaune and Ren wasn't sure if they wanted to go, but followed anyway.

Ruby was kicking and whining, clearly, she had no desire in going there. Sadly Yang was more persistent than a dog, eventually persuading everyone to go. The turnout made the others want to complain, except Nora, who enjoyed beating out those black-suited, top-hated gangs. The others, especially Ruby, complained endlessly, even threatening to call their dad so he could reprimand Yang. Yang looked apologetic, though it was uncertain if that was genuine or not.

At least one thing was clear, they weren't letting Yang make a decision again!

Ruby and Yang returned to their dormitory. When they entered they saw Blake and Weiss quietly avoiding each other—well, it seemed more like Weiss was the one trying to avoid Blake, and Blake seemed to go along with it, looking nonchalant. This attitude made Weiss want to grit her snow-white teeth in frustration for some reason. At times, she wanted to stomp her feet to vent her frustration. Yang took a curious scrutiny gaze at both of them, moving her lips simultaneously for a few seconds before asking.

"What's wrong with you two? I'm sansing a strong tension between the two of you."

"Don't ask," glared Weiss.

Yang looked blank for a split-second. "Don't tell me something happen while Ruby and I were happily enjo—"

Ruby, with a sharp glare, cut her off. "Don't say we enjoy our time! We did not, do you hear me!" Yang's lip slowly shut, then a muffled chuckled tumble out. "I heard you loud and clear, Rube. Loud and clear…" Although Ruby was fuming with pouting rage towards her, Yang did not mind. Apparently, she had succeeded in her goal. The roller coaster bonding between them, if it was, had made Ruby less drained and somber, which was exactly what Yang wanted. Now, Ruby was less occupied with her nightmare and showed more colors. Even if Ruby now looks resentfully at her.

It was a good result, and Yang was happy.

Meanwhile, Blake and Weiss simultaneously cast a scrutinizing gaze at Ruby.

They noticed Ruby wasn't showing that gloominess. Both were happy to say the least, something they both agreed on even if they didn't show it. Later that night, Weiss laid tossing and turning in her bed. Beads of sweat forming as she tosses around. Amidst dusk, Yang snored, Ruby looked discomfortable as she slept, ember eyes glow, observing Weiss and Ruby.

Obviously, this was Blake, who hasn't slept yet despite how late it was. A frown appeared on her face, she could tell that her friend was having bad dreams. Furthermore, now she was certain, Weiss's having a bad dream. And from last morning it was now clear Weiss had a nightmare before, only… she didn't expect Weiss to be irritated and ignored her after she asked out of curiosity.

She guessed Weiss prefers to keep things to herself, hence the irritation.

"Sigh…" Blake sighs and gradually slips into slumber.

The street was in flames and chaos.

Grieving cry's roar amidst the flame, torning through the street, bombs and gunfire roar across the collapsing house and building. Bodies and crumble buildings litter the ground, creating a strong stench of small that flooded the street. Smoke rose and covered the sky, blocking out the sun and casting a grimy atmosphere around the whole street.

At this time, amidst the smoke and flame, a large army of terrorists in pale-white-skull masks, clad in black and white outfits, and at the back of their outfits was a beast with a red claw mark. All of them had animal features being hidden or shown outwardly. They all wore the same outfit with masks, the beast-claw shown on their back symbolizing their organizations. They were the White Fang.

All of them were either holding rifles, pistols, and the like.

Their eyes glow behind the mask they wore, emitted a violent aura that scared the people.

It was as if they were a beast, desiring only the death of the humans who were fleeing. At the same time, on the forefront, the one leading them raised her hand, beckoning for them to continue hunting down anyone they saw. "Leave no one alive! Kill all the human's! Remember, brothers and sisters of the White Fang, these intolerable humans have suppressed and enslaved us long enough. Revenge is ours to take, don't hold back, shoot and make them feel what we have been enduring for the past century. Now, go!"

She commended them to continue their spree of slaughter and destruction. The White Fang at her backing roared in unison and changed forward with cold and beastly eyes. Shooting or stabbing any human in sight. The leader, garb in black and red outfit, and the signature White Fang symbol on her right chest, had her ember eyes glow with deep coldness as she swung her medium-length blade, Gambol shroud down, chopping an innocent person in half. As the innocent person died, and her black blade drenched in blood, she felt no remorse for what she had done.

The scene rippled, then changed, like a TV switching to another clip.

She stumbled upon another human, who was left crawling back in fear. The White Fang leader showed no hesitation in proceeding to kill, only before she could, a hate filled voice traveled into her cat ears.

Bringing her to a pause, because the voice was one with which she was highly familiar.

"Blake! Stop it! You, you-you… how can you do this! How?!" The girl forcefully screams out the leader of the terrorist group's name, full of anger and hatred, but also with disbelief. It was as if her eyes could not believe what she's seeing right now. The girl was in a brown short and sleeveless outfit, orange scarf and hair dangle about, brown boots intensifying her beautiful legs. On her wrist were duo bracelets, ready to be unleashed into combat mode. This was Yang, the one speaking, seething with anger and teeth grinding as her body trembled from boiling rage.

And the one she spoke to was no one else but Blake, who was the ringleader behind the White Fang current inhumane action. Blake's glowing ember eyes glinted, then her lips moved. "They deserve it." Was all she said, baring no guilt over her action, then her blade's form changed, and she decisively shot the head of the crawling human.

Yang's body trembled even more as her eyes blazed, glowing like fire, as she launched herself toward Blake. "You—you're not human!"

Yang's bracelet transforms into a duo gauntlet, her hands locking down on Blake. But Blake was quicker than most, evading by side-stepping. At the same time, she spun around while Gambol shroud lunged sharply at the neck of Yang. At the same time, she said with an icy tone. "I was never human, I've been a Faunus my entire life, and will never be a part of you unreasonable people."

Seeing gambol-shroud inching closer, Yang pivoted and punched out again.

At the same time, Yang with all her anger and anguish roar. "So what, we were friends! We didn't think of you as anything different from others. Yet… you planned an attack behind our back, we should have never trusted you, you backstabbing monster!"

With her face as cold as ice, Blake said expressionless. "The human's brought this upon themselves. Since peaceful coexistence doesn't work, only through blood will the Faunus people be free from human suppression. I won't let you stand in our way." Yang punches cause small air waves to roll, grazing Blake's fair skin and nearly landing on her chest. She gritted her teeth and swung at Yang's abdomen, however, Yang sidestep and circled around, pulling out a kick that would have broken jaws and ribs. Only, Blake yet again, narrowly avoided such a strike.

Then it happened, the world turned utterly dark and grim. And inside, two shadows flashed back and forth. The sound of metal clashing against each other as it kept echoing, additionally every second or two the sound of bullets was heard, each time, flaring with red spark.

Before long, the world rippled and spun speedily like a vertex.

In a matter of seconds, bodies and burning buildings were thus shown again. And in an open street where cracked concrete and blood litter the ground. Blake stood straight, her blade pointed at the neck of Yang, who set bleeding on the ground. Panting heavily, while bloodshot eyes stare at Blake without faltering. Heaving and panting without end, she urged with a roaring voice. "Do it. Weiss was right, all White Fang were disgusting groups that had no conscience. You terrorist bastard, we should have never thought of you as friends."

"If you think that, then you were never my friend. You are the same as the other humans." Blake's ruthless gambol shroud descended down, severing her head from her neck. At the sight of killing her once dear friend, now turned enemy. Her ember pupils did not waver a single bit, seemingly not considering Yang's words in her heart.

The memories of the human's unfair treatment toward Faunus people were etched deeply into her being. Blake swore to not stop until all the humans experienced what the Faunus felt all these years.

As Yang's head rolled, a squeaky cry full of shock, horror, and disbelief traveled from blocks away before closing in at a breakneck speed. Rosy petal left behind in its wake as a petite figure appeared beside Yang, grasping her disconnected head firmly. It was Ruby. Upon seeing Ruby, the terrorist Blake showed no empathy, not a single shred! Blinded by her hatred towards the human, whom she deem intolerable, even her friend's death did not shake her.

Ruby cried tears of sorrow and pain. As she choked on her tears, she looked up at Blake with both resentment and anguish; an emotion which would normally not be seen on her face. Simply put, it was rare to see such a sight considering Ruby's nature.

Choking on her tears, she asked aggrievedly. "Blake… you-how-why…why did you do this? And you killed Yang! Why—you cold blooded killer, Just why!!" Ruby's voice was cracking with every word, the scene before her eyes was too heart-wrenching, too painful, she could not believe such a thing was happening. Moreover, this was done by Blake, someone whom she originally considered a friend. Ruby clutches her hand tighter on Yang's body, her petite figure trembling with nothing but hate toward Blake.

Meanwhile, Blake, with her shadow resembling a merciless monster, spoke with no empathy.

"This was what should have been done, Ruby, and the death of the human's and Yang… none of it can compare to the suffering the Faunus endured." Her hand moved, and Gambol shroud rear its sharp edge closely towards Ruby's neck.

Ruby did not react to Gambol-shroud being pointed at her. Instead, she gritted her teeth and said. "I didn't care if you were a Faunus or that you used to be part of a terrorist organization. I thought… I thought of you as a friend who will always have my back. You and Weiss, I thought of both you as someone precious to me. We were so happy, yet you… I hate yo—"

Gambol-shroud was sharp and swift, cutting Ruby down before Ruby finished.

Another one of her friends fell by her hand. Yet this did not sadden Blake.

She was a merciless beast without empathy. She was a White Fang at her core, someone who will bring an end to the suppression of the Faunus. From the day she met Ruby and the team, Blake had always been the same person. Just because she finds joy, friendship, people who she can count on… how can she change who she was…

The scene ripples and twists like a vertex again.

When it emerged again, Blake was on top of the roof. Being face to face with the snow-white hair, pale-blue eyes, and elegantly dressed Weiss.

Weiss cast a disdainful look at Blake. "Hmph. As I thought, a terrorist will never change. I was right to judge you at first sight. But to be fairly honest with you, Blake, I never trusted you, hence I'm not at all surprised by this uprising. After all, how can it be possible for me, a heiress to the SDC, to truly trust a former terrorist, let alone think of one as a friend." Blake gritted her teeth. "Silence, Schnee! Today you and your family will pay for what you've done. I'll make sure of it, I swear on the White Fang's name. You and the SCD will fall today. You won't escape this Weiss!"

To that, Weiss only sneered, "Do you truly believe the mighty Schnee will fall by the likes of you filthy animal." Blake bristled with uncontrollable anger. Today she will not stop until the SDC falls, and the Schnee's will not escape their retribution!

They wasted no more words, both springing into action.

With a cat-like agility, Blake's speed transcends normal human limits as she zigzags to Weiss. At the same time, with equal speed, Weiss launched herself forward. Both parties sought to end each other!

A collusion took place as they exchanged blows.

The scene ripples into a spiral. Only Weiss and Blake's figure can be seen before darkness overtakes. When the scene returned, the first thing it showed was Blake thrusting Gambol-shroud into Weiss' abdomen. In the background, the Faunus people could be seen tearing down the SDC and declaring their victory.

The SDC was gone. Humans are now outnumbered.

They did it, and with this, the Faunus people won't hide in fear anymore.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

As she celebrates her victory, a shadowy figure appears beside her, grinning with satisfaction. The shadowy figure then smirked, and said, "You did well. The human must all die, only then us Faunus will truly gain freedom. And you…" the shadowy figure stared directly at Blake, smiling with a crazy laugh. "Can't ever escape from your past, hahahahaha!"

The world crumbled like a fragmented mirror!

In the bed, Blake shot up with sweat rolling down her cheeks.

…

Three weeks passed, yet Weiss was still having a god awful dream.

At this point, her blood was boiling and her mind seemed to be constantly battered by waves of vivid dreams stuck in her head. It was so intense she felt she might snap any moment. Additionally, the restraints she held were beginning to crack, at this rate the team may know that she hasn't been sleeping well.

Something she had wanted to keep to herself.

Hilarious to say, she wanted to keep to herself but one of her friends, Blake, already knew she wasn't sleeping well. The only problem is that Blake right now is also not doing well. Regardless, Weiss wasn't sure she could keep this up any longer. And these days whenever she looks at Blake, a guilty feeling welled up inside her chest. Now, she was really sure she wronged Blake and the Faunus people back then. She must have seemed like one of those intolerable people when she saw that monkey boy and called him filthy Faunus.

Even more, she was guilty over the fact that she had been so judgmental of Blake when her Faunus heritage was revealed, and the shocking truth that she was a former White Fang terrorist. However, when you think about it, she apologized for that and made amends for it already. Hadn't she? Moreover, it's been weeks and months since then. There wasn't any conflict with Blake, and both of them barely spoke about the event. In addition, a nightmare that kept on popping up was about her desire to be captain; and how she ruthlessly took it from Ruby.

Weiss knew in heart that she would never do that! So why does she keep on dreaming about stuff like these when the matter was settled long ago. And it wasn't even that big of a matter!

Regardless, being dissatisfied with Ruby as a captain had long since passed. But those dreams kept replaying in her head, driving her crazy. It felt like someone was intentionally tormenting her with those things, turning what was long past into something she can't forget.

In addition, is it just her or is she waking up with a slight dip in aura reserve?

At this time, somewhere nearby, in a hall further down and at the left side.

A girl in a black skin-tight outfit just happened to be walking by. The girl's pupils were that of a cat, and had fluffy cat ears, slender body from waist down. She was the type who can make any man's heart pound with a single look. She was Blake, unlike usual, her eyes were haggard; lacking coolness that you'll normally see in her.

Blake was heading to the library, her head swirling from these past nights. Because of that, an influx of emotion and thoughts were circling around her head—making her feel a terrible unrest that drained both her body and mind.

Having nightmares was common, but having it for the last three weeks was becoming a burden. In addition, it meant some emotion, stress or whatever was causing her to have it. Then as she continued to think about the matter, she thought in her head. Is it my guilty conscience?! Furthermore, perhaps it was the doing of the dream, but Blake's started thinking more about the day she first met Weiss, and the way she judged her base on her family name. Now that she thought more about it, wasn't it right for Weiss to loathe the White Fang.

They are a group of terrorists who have harmed many innocent lives. Despite holding the instinctual protection for the White Fang in her heart, her mind was being shredded by the ongoing nightmare… making her sometimes think otherwise.

No! The White Fang are just a misguided group of Fanues. Yes, it's just that! But what if. What if…

Blake was facing some mind-shifting crisis in her head.

Who will help her calm down before she goes crazy?

As she walked, she happened across a trouble looking snow-white hair, pale-blue eyes, and mostly white dress heiress. The second they stumble upon each other in the hallway, they make eye contact.

Silence dawn of the two of them, as both have a suppressed emotion that they have bottled up recently. However, they were unsure of what to say or when to start.
