*Kyro's POV* (time, 8:40 o'clock)
Why aren't they here yet? They should have been here a while ago.
"Kyro, is this okay?" Xyrus suddenly asked, breaking my train of thought. I looked at the design he showed me.
"Microphone?" I asked, surprised. Could his talent really be singing?
"Yes, it's a microphone. One of my skills is singing," he said while typing on the weapon recommendation. I was right about my guess.
"What did you put in?" I asked softly after he submitted the design.
"I made the sound extremely loud, and I added features that could help me in times of danger," he explained, which greatly surprised me. Helping in times of danger? Hmm.
Then, I saw two people approaching the entrance. They stopped for a moment, logged in, and then headed to the Dressing room. They quickly came out, and I immediately recognized one of them because of the length of his sword.
"It's Krypton." I saw him signal in a certain direction where they were heading. I quickly grabbed Xyrus's clothes and pulled him towards that direction.
When we arrived, I saw Kelvin quickly creating a design on a white paper that we had also used before.
I immediately asked Krypton, "Why are you so late?" I asked him quickly. He just looked at me and continued fixing his sword.
"What about Carmella? Jacob? Did you see them?" I asked, and Kelvin suddenly looked at Krypton.
"Kelvin, did something bad happen to them? Why isn't Krypton talking?" I asked again, but neither of them answered. They just continued what they were doing.
Then, like before, a loud voice echoed through the speaker above us.
"Our warriors, everyone knows what's happening. Even we teachers don't know what these small purple creatures attacking your fellow students are. As fighters, marksmen, assassins, supports, and more, we're begging you to fight and find out the reason behind all this. Sacrifice your lives and hearts for our country. We're begging you." After the speaker finished, everyone suddenly screamed, and the sound echoed through all the speakers before everything fell silent.
After that, a strong tremor shook the room, and the walls and roofs of each club began to open. Fear was visible on the faces of all the students in Club A.
Carmella and the others need help. We need to hurry.
"Krypton, let's go back to Club Z. Carmella needs help. They don't have any weapons to fight against the spheres," I said, starting to run. But I stopped when I turned around, seeing Kelvin and Krypton standing still, with Xyrus looking confused.
"What's wrong with you? Let's go, there's no time left," I said emotionlessly, but they didn't move.
"WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM??? WHY AREN'T YOU MOVING? WHY AREN'T YOU TALKING?" I asked angrily.
Kelvin took a step forward, his voice shaking. "Carmella and Jacob..." he said softly, tears welling up in his eyes.
"What happened, Kelvin? Tell me," I responded coldly.
They didn't talk. Could it be...
"They're gone, Kyro," Krypton said softly.
"What are you talking about? Don't you just not want to come with me? Are you scared? Well, I'll go alone," I said disbelievingly, turning my back on them and preparing to run.
But before I could move, two hands grabbed my shoulders. Krypton turned me around, his eyes welling up with tears.
"They're gone, Kyro. Believe what Kelvin is saying. We came from Club Z, and we didn't see anyone alive. Believe—" Before he could finish, I punched him with my left fist. He stumbled backward due to the force of the punch.
"Maybe you guys went to a different club," I said emotionlessly, turning around and starting to run.
However, a large sphere fell from above, landing near me. The force and speed of its fall knocked me backward to where Xyrus was standing. I tried to stand up, but I couldn't due to the strength of the impact.
As I sat there, I carefully observed the sphere. I couldn't see it clearly due to the dust surrounding it, but one thing caught my eye - the glint of purple light. My eyes widened as I saw another sphere falling, just like the ones we saw before.
The spheres.
"G-guys," I stammered, looking at Krypton, Kelvin, and Xyrus with fear.
"R-run." I added. Xyrus quickly rushed towards me and helped me stand up. Kelvin did the same for Krypton. We started running, and the students around us did the same.
Chaos erupted. Is this the apocalypse my father mentioned?
"Let's get away from here," Xyrus said calmly, leading the way.
"To the right!" he shouted, but Kelvin shouted "Left!" at the same time.
The noise of other students screaming surrounded us. I quickly pulled away from Xyrus and grabbed my bow from my back.
"Xyrus, get an arrow," I ordered urgently, grabbing my bow. He handed me the arrow, but I quickly ran away from him.
"What are you doing? Use that to fight," I said.
I'm not sure, but these spheres are similar to duty after school. We have no choice but to fight and save ourselves.
From a distance, I saw Krypton break free from Kelvin's grasp and draw his sword.
"Kyro, go to the units! I'll take care of this!" I heard him shout, and I quickly ran away from Club A, heading towards the units. I need to provide support.
I can't fight head-on. I need to get away from Club A.
*Krypton's POV* (same time)
What are these things?! There are so many of them. Why don't they end?!
"Ahh!!!" I shouted as I swung my sword at the small purple creatures attacking the students. What's really going on? Has the festival started? This is so frustrating.
"Hey, talent boy!!!" I shouted, and he looked at me, stopping for a moment.
"Get out of here, go help Kyro." It's dangerous. Kyro's weapon can't be used head-on. He needs someone to support him.
Where's Kelvin? When I need him, he's nowhere to be found. This is so annoying.
"KELVINN!!!!!" I shouted loudly, almost covering the entire field. Everyone stopped, the students fighting and Xyrus running.
The small purple creatures stopped too. After a few seconds, they all turned in one direction. My eyes widened as I saw them heading towards me.
"Come on, come closer!!!" I shouted again, raising my sword, which lengthened to the size of a car. Before the creatures could get close, my sword sliced through them.
However, there are too many enemies. Some are jumping, while others are crawling on the ground.
Is this the end for me?
*Kyro's POV* (Unit C; same time)
There are so many of them. I can't take them on alone. Where are the assassin students? I don't see any of them.
I continued shooting arrows at the spheres chasing me. However, I was surprised that when I stepped forward, the spheres stopped.
The spheres stopped moving, and then they suddenly ran away. What's happening?
From afar, I saw Xyrus shouting. Is that his weapon? Thankfully.
I listened carefully and heard him shout, "BEHIND YOU!!!" I swallowed hard and turned around. I saw a large sphere, similar to the ones that chased me earlier, but this one had longer tentacles.
I quickly jumped and ran away, but it caught my left foot. Now, I'm stuck, with one of its tentacles wrapped around my foot, and if it pulls any harder, it's all over.
Before I could even react, a strong gust of wind came, and the tentacle was sliced off.
Then, a series of large needles hit the sphere behind me, and it fell. A woman appeared, and I was surprised to see her wearing an assassin's hat.
"Wait, you're an assassin?" I asked in surprise.
"Yes, I'm—"
(FIVE MINUTES EARLIER)
A loud gunshot suddenly woke him up and stopped the purple creatures from getting closer.
*Krypton's P.O.V)
Wait, a gunshot? That's not it...
"Most marksmen use guns. In this unit, most players' weapons are long-range."
That's right, marksmen units, just like Kyro said.
I quickly stood up and lengthened my sword again.
"COME CLOSER!!!" I shouted loudly, and the small purple creatures started moving again.
"TAKE THIS!!!" I added, swinging my sword.
Then, I heard a familiar voice shouting. I quickly looked up and saw a familiar face.
The voice... it was Jacob. He smiled and saluted me briefly.
How is he still alive? But this is good news; Kyro will be happy to know he's alive.
Just as I moved away from my position, a long tentacle suddenly emerged from the sphere that had fallen earlier. It hit many students behind me, including...
"J-jacob..." I whispered, seeing his eyes looking at me. Then, another long tentacle emerged, followed by more, until all the students around me were gone.
I swallowed hard as I saw the giant purple creature walking towards me, releasing many tentacles. I trembled, facing it with my long sword.
"D-don't come any closer..." I stammered, and suddenly, a long tentacle emerged, heading straight for me.
Is this the end for me?
I quickly shortened my sword, preparing for the creatures to get close, but with the sheer number of them approaching me, I couldn't avoid getting pierced by their tentacles.
"Krypton!!!" Kelvin shouted. I looked at him.
Sorry. This is it for me. Save yourselves. Farewell.
