CHAPTER 30

#unedited…

She turned off the lights and climbed into bed. She curled up on her side, pulling the covers up to her chin.

"Just forget about him.".

So why did she feel like she was drowning instead? Lily pulled the covers tighter around her, burying her face in the pillow. His scent enveloped her, but it wasn't enough. It wasn't him.

Fuck."

She closed her eyes, letting out a frustrated sigh. She should have just left it alone. She should have just let him leave.

Because now, she couldn't stop thinking about him. And the more she thought about him, the worse it got..

Her fingers clenched into the sheets, and she buried her face into the pillow.

The images flooded her mind, and her body responded immediately.

She groaned, rolling onto her back. Her cheeks burned as she stared up at the ceiling, trying desperately to calm her racing heart.

"Fuck," she muttered into the pillow, her voice cracking with frustration.

She should've let him leave. Should've said nothing, acted like he meant nothing. Because now he was in her head, and the more she tried to push him out, the deeper he fucking dug in.

Her fingers slipped under the covers, trailing along her thighs.

She pressed her hand between her legs, a soft moan escaping her lips. She was already wet.

"Fuck."

Her fingers slipped between her folds, finding her clit. She rubbed slow circles, her breath catching as pleasure rippled through her.

"Lucifer."

The image of him on top of her, his hard length pressing into her, filled her mind. Her fingers moved faster, her hips arching as she imagined him thrusting into her, filling her, making her scream.

"Yes," she gasped.

She bit her lip, muffling a groan as her climax rose, wave after wave of pleasure building until she was panting and writhing on the bed

"Fuck."

She gripped the sheets, her body trembling as she came. Her heart pounded in her ears, and her chest heaved as she struggled to catch her breath.

She lay there for a long moment, trying to regain her composure.

"Stupid," she muttered. She pushed the covers away, sitting up.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

She swung her legs over the side of the bed, pushing her hair out of her face.

"You're so fucked up." She stood, shaking her head.

"Just go to sleep. Forget about him."

She turned off the lights and climbed into bed. She curled up on her side, pulling the covers up to her chin.

"Just forget about him."

She closed her eyes, her body still trembling slightly.

Lily sat up, pulling her knees to her chest."What the hell is wrong with you, Lily?"

She ran a hand through her hair, letting out a shaky sigh. Gosh, she hated her mind. She looked down at herself like she didn't recognize the girl she saw.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

She stood and walked to the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face. It didn't help. The

She went back to her room, pulling on fresh clothes. She headed downstairs, legs weak, just as Lucifer was sipping his coffee. He was dressed in a simple black t-shirt and jeans, his dark hair falling across his forehead. He looked…ordinary but so handsome.

"I won't be dropping you at school today," he said without turning.

"Why?" Her voice was soft.

"I'm leaving," he said, "I'll drop you off, then go." taking another sip of his coffee

"You're leaving?" She blinked, her heart sinking, and she couldn't hide the disappointment in her voice.

"I'm going back home," he said, "I've got some business to do."

He hesitated for a long moment, his jaw clenched tight. Finally, he spoke. "There are things I need to take care of. Things I can't do if I'm here."

"What things?" she asked.

He shook his head again. "I can't tell you."

"Oh…" The word fell from her lips like a curse. She clenched her hands at her side.

"Damien will pick you up when school closes," he added. "I'm traveling. Two days. Business trip."

"Okay," she whispered. She tried to keep her voice steady, but it cracked. "Where are you going?"

"I don't know." He took another slow sip. "Just leaving."

Her throat tightened."Lucifer…" she murmured. "Can we talk?"

He turned his head slightly, brows arching. "About what?"

"About what happened earlier…"

He looked away again, setting the coffee down. "What is there to talk about?"

"I want to apologize," she said. "For the things I said. The way I acted. I was just… I was fucking angry. And scared. And I said horrible things I didn't mean."

His jaw ticked. For a second, she thought he'd ignore her. "Apology accepted," he said quietly.

Her chest eased. Just a little."Thank you," she said.

He nodded. "You should sleep. You've got school."

"I will," she said. "But… can I ask something else?"

He sighed. "Go on."

"What happened between you and your parents?"

He froze.

"They were murdered to death," he said flatly.

She woke the next morning, her body still aching from the night before. Her muscles were sore, Why was she thinking about him like that?

She dragged herself to the bathroom and turned on the shower. The hot water poured over her skin, easing some of the tension in her body,

She stepped out of the shower, wrapped herself in a towel, and stared into the mirror. Her reflection looked tired and hollow. Her lips parted slightly.

She got dressed for school, pulled up her black knee-length skirt, pressed a white blouse with her blazer, and then made her way downstairs.

She hesitated at the kitchen door, then cleared her throat. "Good morning."

"Good morning," he said.

Her heart raced. She looked away. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes," he replied simply.

"That's good." The silence that followed was deafening."Is everything okay?" she asked

"Everything is fine." A lie. She knew it was a lie.

She nodded stiffly, not sure what else to say. She wanted to stay with him. She wanted him to say something anything that would break this awful silence.

"I should go"

"Wait." His voice stopped her.

She turned around slowly.

He stepped closer, his tall frame towering over her. he tucked a strand of damp hair behind her ear.

"Be careful today," he murmured.

"I will," she muttered

He leaned down, and then his lips met hers. She melted into him, fingers curling into his shirt, pulling him closer.

He broke the kiss first, his eyes dark and stormy. "Lily…"

"Yes?"

"I bought you a phone," he said.

"What?"

"It's in the living room," he said quietly. "Take it. In case you need to contact me."

Her heart sank. That meant he was leaving.."O-Okay," she said, her voice trembling.

"Lucifer…"

"Yes?" he asked without looking at her.

She wanted to scream. Stay. Don't go. Don't leave me alone again. But all that came out was:

"Nothing."

"I'll see you later." He left without another word. She rushed to the living room and saw the latest model Samsung.

"Good morning, miss," the maid said gently.

"Good morning," Lily replied softly.

"Your breakfast is ready."

She went to the dining room and sat in front of eggs, bacon, and coffee. But the food tasted like dust. She had no appetite.

"Miss, Sir Damien is here."

"I'm coming," she said.

Damien was waiting by the car. He smiled when he saw her. "Good morning, Lily."

"Good morning."

"Ready?"

She nodded, sliding into the passenger seat.

"How are you feeling today?" Damien asked once they started driving.

"I'm okay," she replied, watching the grey sky outside.

"That's good. You seem a bit quiet today."

She gave him a small smile but said nothing more.

They arrived at school, and Lily stepped out of the car slowly. Her head pounded. Her body felt heavy.

"Good morning, class," the teacher called.

"We're starting our unit on chemical equations. Lily, give us a quick definition?"

"A chemical equation shows the chemical reactions that happen during a reaction," she said, voice

"An example?"

She forced the words out, "Two molecules of hydrogen reacting with one molecule of oxygen to form water… 2H₂ + O₂ = 2H₂O."

She looked around. Ava wasn't there. She didn't know why Ava hated her.

Everything just felt wrong. She leaned her head on the desk, praying the day would end.

"It's an agent that speeds up a chemical reaction without being consumed," someone said.

.

.

"Hey, Lily."She turned to Liam.

He jogged up to her, his dark hair a little messy, his uniform slightly untucked. "You okay?"

She nodded, too tired to fake a smile. "Yeah."

"You don't look okay," he said, frowning. "You look like you didn't sleep at all."

"I didn't," she muttered.

"Did he do something to you?"

"No. He didn't."

"Lily, If he laid a finger on you. You can tell me".

"He didn't!" she snapped, louder than she meant to. A few students glanced their way. She lowered her voice. "I just… couldn't sleep."

He recoiled slightly, his expression hurt. "Okay, okay. Just checking."

She sighed, softening her tone. "Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude."

"It's okay," he said. "I understand."

She gathered her books, standing up. "I should get to my next class."

"Wait," he said. "Can I walk with you?"

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure."

"Really?" he pressed. "Because it seems like you've been avoiding me lately."She stopped walking, turning to face him. "I haven't been avoiding you."

"Yes, you have," he insisted. "Ever since…that fight."

I am. "Am sorry about the fight with you and Lu.. A, lex," she said. "Liam, please. Don't do this, you can get hurt again"

"Don't do what? Tell you how I feel?

She turned her face away, but he reached out and gently pulled her chin back to face him.

"I love you, Lily," he said slowly, "I fucking love you, and I don't care how long it takes I'll wait."

"You can hate me. You can scream, cry, run… but I'll still be here. I'm not going anywhere. Not until you love me back. Not until I see it in your eyes when you look at me."

"I can't," she said, shaking her head. "I just can't."

"Can't what?" he asked. "Can't be with me? Can't admit that you feel something too?"

"It's not that simple," she said.

"Yes, it is," he insisted. "It's just a matter of taking a chance."

She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She couldn't do this. She couldn't be with him, not when Lucifer was still in her heart.

"I'm sorry," she said, her voice trembling. "I can't."

"You know you can tell me anything, right?"

She nodded.

"You shouldn't be around him," he said. "He's not good for you. He's a fucking narcissist and can be too dangerous for you."

"I tried to. I did a deep dive into his life, I checked everything his name, his school records, his family. And guess what? I didn't find anything, there's no one real named Alex with his background. No childhood photos, no relatives, no past. It's like he appeared out of thin air," Liam growled, "It's fucking creepy, Lily.

"Thanks," she said flatly.

.

.

The bell rang.

She clutched her phone, glancing at the time. Damien hadn't texted. Hadn't called.

"Darn it…" she mumbled under her breath

"Hello, miss." An old woman said, her white haired wrapped in a faded head scarf.

"Hi…" Lily said slowly, her brows furrowing. "Can I help you?"

. "Please, dear. I need help lifting a heavy load. I've been waiting for someone to pass by, but everyone's in such a hurry."

"Um..Sure I guess"she gave a small nod, walking behind the woman

"Ma… are you sure it's here?" she asked looking around "It's really quiet out here."

"Yes, yes, it's just around the corner," the woman insisted with a gentle wave of her hand. "Won't take a moment, child. Please."

Lily bit her lip. Something didn't sit right but the woman didn't look so threatening.

"Okay," she said reluctantly

The woman pointed ahead. "There it is. Just by that cart."

"That one on top," the woman said.

Lily stepped forward, glancing around again. "Weird… this part of school's always locked off."

She bent down to lift the box.

A black van came before she could finish, the van doors open. One grabbed her from behind.

"Fuck Let go of me" she screamed,

"Help help"

"What the fuck do you want?!" she tried to shout, fighting with everything she had.

"Darn you Let me go mother fuckers" she shouted, breathing hard. Tears welled in her eyes.
