Chapter One: Oblivion Baptism
Jai was an ordinary thirty-year-old man—or at least, he felt that way. He was overweight, balding, and his thick-rimmed glasses were always slipping down his nose. He lived his life on caffeine, stuck in a routine, and spent his days lost in the world of fiction—anime, manga, manhwa, novels, comics, fanfics. You name it, Jai read it.
His life was dull. Gray. So, like many people, he dreamed of something different. Something better.
And then… the sky cracked open.
It happened in the middle of a quiet grocery store parking lot. A dimensional rift tore through the air, and two cosmic forces collided above. One was a cocky, reality-warping being—an all-powerful entity who called himself a Random Overpowered Being (ROB). The other was something far worse—an eldritch monster, a nightmare that could tear apart reality with its very presence.
Before Jai could even process what was happening, he was gone.
A single shockwave obliterated his body and soul. And then—nothing.
Just an empty, infinite white void. Jai felt like he was floating, suspended between nothing and everything. It was strange… almost peaceful.
Then, a voice broke the silence.
ROB: "Yo. Uh, sorry, man. Got caught up in a fight with a nightmare god. You, uh, got caught in the blast. So yeah, my bad. I owe you four wishes. Some cosmetic tweaks too. But, like, don't go overboard—gotta keep the universe fun."
Jai couldn't even comprehend what was happening, but part of him wasn't shocked. His whole life had been spent imagining crazy scenarios. He couldn't help but feel this was one of those bizarre twists of fate.
Jai thought fast. If he was going to get something out of this mess, he needed to make it count. So, with all the passion of a fan debating their favorite series, he made his choices.
First: Essence of the Blank—Infinite potential. No limits. Jai could be anything he wanted.
Second: Essence of Brain (Nerfed)—Enough intellect to solve impossible problems, but with limits to keep him from becoming too powerful too soon.
Third: The End (Custom-Nerfed)—The ability to learn and adapt faster than any human could, though it had a cap at 20% for now. He'd grow, though.
Fourth: Training Dimension—A personal space where time passed differently. A second in here would be like ten years in the real world. He could train, study, and learn without end.
And the bonus? The ROB even threw in a tech genius fused into his brain—like the smartest person you could think of, mixed with the coolest, most inventive minds from every universe.
As for the world Jai would be sent to? Fairy Tail. His absolute favorite. The one place he always dreamed of living.
His new body? Jai would have jet-black hair like a shadow, glowing ruby eyes that were full of mystery, and a body that could change its size. He'd look like a blend of his favorite characters—powerful, confident, and legendary.
But before he could even say a word, something terrible happened.
The eldritch monster struck again.
Reality itself shattered. The ROB's voice screamed out in panic, but it was too late.
Jai was pulled into a spiraling vortex. The world was gone, replaced by something far worse.
He found himself in a place beyond comprehension—the Multiversal Dream Dungeon.
Here, the line between dreams and nightmares blurred. Fragments of stories, every forgotten thought, every broken fantasy collided in this realm. And Jai… Jai was trapped.
He died. Over. And over. Again. Each death was worse than the last. Pain, terror, despair. He was torn apart, piece by piece, soul shredded. His mind screamed for mercy, but there was none.
He tried to fight back once. Bit a creature. Died instantly.
The monsters weren't just monsters. They were his fears, his deepest insecurities. They mocked him, laughed at him, enjoyed every moment of his suffering.
"Break," they whispered. "Kneel."
Days turned into years, into centuries. Time lost its meaning. The pain became his reality.
Jai couldn't help but wonder... what would life have been like if he had made it to Fairy Tail? Would Lucy have smiled at him? Would Erza have shared cake with him? Would Mirajane tease him? Would he have a chance to live out a real adventure? To be someone?
But those thoughts only made the pain worse.
And then, something shifted.
In the deepest part of his soul, a single thought burned brighter than anything else:
"The Training Dimension…"
With all the strength he had left, he whispered the words. The final, desperate wish.
"Activate…"
And in an instant, everything changed. He was gone from the nightmare. Safe. Healed. Alone.
But only for a moment.
Jai would rise. He would train. He would become unstoppable. The monsters that tore his world apart wouldn't stand a chance.
He wasn't done. Not yet. And this time, he wouldn't let anyone or anything break him.
Jai stood, his eyes burning with a new, fierce purpose.
"I'll take my revenge… and enjoy every damn second of it."
