Chapter 28 - Chapter Twenty-Six – "The Teacher of Perception"

The teacher spoke with a calm, deep voice:

"It seems you're of the Perception type, Markus. That's a good thing."

He stepped closer, his gaze focused.

"Let me give you a proper definition. A 'type' is the way your energy moves—its natural flow and shape.

When I say this is your type, I don't mean you can't access others. But your absolute efficiency—your clarity—lies here."

He paced slowly, as though his thoughts shaped the space around him.

"There are six known types: Perception, Shaping, Transmutation, Weaving, Binding, and Domination.

Each type comes with a set of unique skills, and each can extend into rare 'categories' if the person follows certain guidance, meets specific conditions, and undergoes rigorous training."

He stopped and looked at Markus with piercing eyes.

"That's the general structure. But what I want to tell you now, as someone of the Perception type… is something a little different.

It was painfully obvious that you belonged to this type—you didn't even try to stop your eyes from wandering. You couldn't.

Usually, someone has to feel their energy, slowly begin moving it, sensing its form to identify their type.

But you… you're a special case. Perhaps because you lived in a unique area… or for deeper reasons."

He leaned in, voice lowered:

"This is all you need to know… before we begin training your actual form.

Now… any questions?"

Markus let out a laugh—genuine, for once.

"Yeah, just one… who the hell are you?"

The man with the white hair laughed heartily.

"Oh, late question, boy. Alright then—prepare to greet your great teacher… Shilad!"

"Shilad?" Markus raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"And why does my teacher look like a wizard who escaped from a tragic comedy?"

Shilad turned his back dramatically.

"So you don't want to learn? Fine. I'll leave."

For the first time in years, Markus was truly startled.

"Wait! Sorry! Please… come back and be my teacher… whatever you are!"

Shilad smiled with eyes closed, as if he'd forgiven the sins of the world.

"Be grateful, boy. I'm a merciful man."

Then he shifted into a light combat stance and said:

"Now… let's begin your training.

Because I will make sure you earn this dance—

All the way to the end."
