"I feel bad,you treated me to dinner."
That night, after dinner at a cafe, Trisya and Davina walked along the sidewalk of the city park.
"It's okay."
"I'll choose the place to eat."
"Yeah.. You know better. I've only been here for two months. I don't know many places to eat here yet."
"Davina!" A loud call stopped them in their tracks.
Trisya and Davina turned around.
"That's my Dad," Davina's face turned pale.
She hid behind Trisya's back.
"You dare not come home? Come on!" The man, who was none other than Davina's stepfather, pulled Davina's arm.
"I don't want to! Miss Trisya, please help me!"
"Let her go!"
"You don't have to interfere!"
Trisya saw a piece of wood leaning against a plant. She grabbed it and pointed it at Davina's father.
"Don't force me to beat you up!"
Davina's father laughed.
"So, it turns out I'm dealing with a crazy woman!"
He walked away, leaving Trisya and Davina.
"Miss Trisya…" Davina hugged Trisya, terrified.
"It's okay," Trisya stroked Davina's head.
"DIE!" Suddenly, Davina's father came back with a short iron rod, swinging it towards Trisya's head.
A hand deflected the object before it hit Trisya's head.
"Officer Ardi!" Trisya was surprised.
Ardi appeared just as Trisya was about to be hurt, but the iron rod hit his arm instead.
"What are you doing?!" Trisya shouted.
She approached Ardi.
A 22-year-old man caught and handcuffed Davina's father's hands.
"Are you okay, sir?" the man asked.
His name was Bayu. He was on the same team as Ardi. That night, they were just returning from an arrest when they passed by the area and saw what was happening.
"Call Dika or Leon, Bay. Take this man to the office."
"Yes, sir."
"I'll take you to the hospital…" Trisya held Ardi's shoulder.
"It's okay. Later."
***
"The doctor said Ardi's arm bone is injured, but it's not broken," said Richard.
Trisya's stepfather immediately went to the hospital when Trisya called him.
"I'm sorry, because of me, Officer Ardi got hurt," Trisya apologized.
"I also apologizes, sir…"
"It's okay… The important thing is you're safe and Vina is free from that bad guy. I'll tell Ardi later."
"Can I see him?" Trisya asked.
"He's already at the office to handle Davina's father's case."
"But his punishment will definitely not be commensurate with his crime, that kind of person should be castrated," said Trisya.
"Let's just pray that he can realize his mistake after this."
"People who are used to being evil can't change."
"Trisya!" A loud call forced Trisya to turn around.
"Ah, she's definitely going to make a fuss. I'll just go home, Pa…"
"Hey, don't keep fighting with Mom," Richard reprimanded.
Trisya smiled.
"How can someone as patient and good as you stand a woman like that?"
"Your mom is a good person."
Ariana approached with Renata.
"You don't have to go home forever if you keep making trouble!" Ariana hit Trisya's arm repeatedly.
"Hey, Honey… Don't do that in front of people," Richard reprimanded.
"She always makes trouble!"
"What trouble have I made since I came home? What trouble? Did I hurt anyone? Did I kill anyone? Did I ever attack you? You are the one who keeps hurting me! Understand?" Trisya shouted.
"You are the one who makes trouble with me! You always disobey me! You are never polite to me? Do you want me to die soon?"
"Why do you think I'm not polite to you but polite to your husband? Because you taught me to be rude! Do you think I hope you die? Haha… You're crazy! Why would I hope you die soon? Even my wealth is much greater than yours! What will you leave for me when you die?"
"What did you say? You think I don't know who you are? I gave birth to you! I know your character! Why are you close to Richard?"
"I want to take him away from you because you don't deserve to be his wife!"
"Trisya, stop it!" Renata reprimanded. "How can you be like that to Mom!"
"Shut up!" Trisya retorted. "I haven't forgotten how you became a snake in our friendship!"
"What's going on here? Don't make a fuss here. It will disturb the others," Robby approached.
"Take Trisya home, Rob…" Richard said.
"Come on…" Robby pulled Trisya.
"Excuse me, sir…" Davina said goodbye as she followed Trisya and Robby.
"I don't know why I gave birth to her!" Ariana grumbled.
"Just let it be… Don't keep scolding her. She's not a child anymore. You were able to hold back at the beginning of her return. Why can't you now?"
"She's getting more and more disrespectful! Why is Dad defending her now?"
"It's not defending, it's trying to mediate the conflict between you and Trisya."
"That child is possessed by a devil!"
Meanwhile, in the parking lot…
"Mom, thank you for your help…" Davina said.
"Yes…"
"I'm going home now."
"Be careful… I'm sorry if you were disturbed by the problem just now."
"Excuse me, sir…" Davina said goodbye to Robby.
"Be careful, okay?" Robby advised.
"Yes, sir. Mom… Take care, okay? See you tomorrow in class," Davina waved goodbye as she left.
"What happened?" Robby asked.
"Nothing."
"I heard from people at the office that Ardi got injured because he defended you against a man."
"Yeah…"
"Why?"
"He's a sex offender."
"Did he harass you?"
"No."
"Then?"
"He abused Davina for years and committed sexual acts."
"Why didn't you report it?"
"There's no evidence."
"Then you attacked him?"
"Honestly, I wanted to beat him up until he fainted and then castrate him. So he wouldn't ruin my students anymore. Unfortunately, he acted like a coward by attacking from behind. Bang Ardi got injured because he stopped that man from hurting me."
"Don't do that… Oh, you shouldn't do that to your mom either," Robby reminded.
"Why?"
"It doesn't look good to people."
"So what? She's the one who always starts the problem but accuses me of being the troublemaker! If it weren't for Vina, I would have finished off Ariana!" Trisya grumbled.
"Trisya, enough! How can you just call your own mom by her name?" Robby reprimanded.
"Why? I don't care what the public thinks of me! I actually want to kill her in public! So people know how evil she is!"
"Come on, honey. Control your emotions. No matter how bad your relationship with your mom is, try not to make the problem bigger."
Trisya was silent.
"I'll take you home."
"No need, I'll go home alone."
"Come on."
"One day I'll make her cry by beating Aldo."
"Don't do that. Aldo is innocent."
"It's his fault for being born to that woman. If I'm nice to Aldo, that devil could accuse me of trying to get Dad's attention!"
"Don't prolong it. You're a child, you can't call your mom a devil, no matter how much you hate her!"
"Then she can call me a demon?"
"Let's go home."
"I want to take a walk first."
"Alright."
They walked along the road on the motorbike. Several times Robby made jokes in between the stories that came out of Trisya's mouth. Until finally, Robby stopped his motorbike right in front of Richard's house.
"Why here? I want to go home."
"Your dad texted earlier, he said to stop by the house. We'll have dinner there."
"I don't want to!"
"Come on…" Robby pulled Trisya. "Remember, if Mom gets mad, you just stay quiet."
Trisya didn't answer.
Robby knocked on the open door.
In the living room, Richard was sitting with Ardi and Bayu.
"Robby, Trisya… Come in," Richard said.
"How's your arm, Bang?" Trisya asked.
Ardi looked at Trisya.
"I'm fine."
Trisya sat in front of Ardi.
"I'm sorry, because of me, your arm got hurt."
"It's okay," Ardi replied.
"He's faced worse than that when he caught a robber. Right, Bang?" said Bayu, who was sitting next to Ardi.
Trisya looked at Ardi. The man smiled.
"Next time, think first before you do anything! It's a good thing Ardi's arm isn't broken!" Ariana said angrily, coming in carrying Aldo with Renata.
Richard held Trisya's hand so she wouldn't answer Ariana's words.
"Just take the lesson, Ma," Richard said.
"We're going home, sir…" Andika said goodbye.
"Oh… Have dinner here first," Ariana offered.
"No need, ma'am. It will be troublesome," Ardi refused.
"It's not troublesome… Just for a while. You guys just sit down."
"I'll prepare it," Trisya stood up.
"I'll help," Renata said.
"Wow, it's troublesome for you, Re," Ariana said.
"So that when I become a wife, I can be relied on," Renata said.
"Haha."
"Auntie, just stay here… We'll prepare dinner," Renata said as she hurried after Trisya.
"Sya…" Renata called.
Trisya didn't answer.
"I know you're mad at me."
"Don't ruin the mood!"
"I'm not mad about you pulling my hair."
Trisya looked at Renata.
"I… don't regret it!"
"What?"
"I appreciate you being my best friend… But your interference in my personal matters, I can't forgive you."
"What mistake did I make?"
"Why are you asking?"
"Is it wrong if I want the people close to you to know the story I heard?"
"Did you ask me before you told Robby?"
"What's wrong with it, Sya? You didn't do anything bad outside, did you? Why are you so afraid if Robby knows about Uncle Steven's problem? What are you hiding?"
"It's none of your business!"
"You're aiming for Bang Ardi, aren't you?" Renata asked.
"What?"
"Just answer, Trisya!"
Trisya laughed.
"Why are you talking about Bang Ardi?" Trisya asked.
"I see you often stealing glances at him."
"It's none of your business!"
"You're playing with Robby!"
"You're crazy! Jealous, okay, but don't be blind like this!"
"You're attracted to him, Trisya!"
"If I'm attracted to him, does it bother your life? You like him too, don't you?"
"Why are you like this?"
"You started it!"
"What's going on here? Why are you fighting?" Richard reprimanded, suddenly in the room.
"Uncle…" Renata greeted.
"What's wrong? Re?"
"It's okay, Uncle…" Renata opened the refrigerator and took out some fruit.
Richard turned his gaze to Trisya.
"Trisya?"
Trisya didn't answer, she grabbed a knife and immediately started cutting vegetables.
"Re, can you leave us?" Richard asked.
"But…"
"It's okay."
"Okay…" Renata immediately left the kitchen.
Richard looked at Trisya, who was still focused on cooking.
"What are you cooking?" Richard asked.
"Just cooking snacks."
"Mom has ordered food."
"Why? Don't you trust my cooking?"
"No… I just don't want to trouble you and Renata."
"Oh… Why are you here, Dad?"
"I just got off the phone and heard you guys fighting, so I came here right away."
"Then why are you still here?"
"Not allowed?"
"Later, people will think I'm flirting with you," Trisya replied flatly. "Renata could tell Mom."
"The food is here…" Ariana appeared.
Trisya and Richard turned around.
"I haven't had time to cook anything except vegetables…" Trisya said.
"Let's eat," Richard said.
"Yes…"
