Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Rest Stop and Royal Correspondence

The baggage carriage halted in front of the inn in the small town. With the innkeeper's help, Omar parked the carriage in the stable behind the inn, and Varokar led the five guards to the town's church to find a priest to treat their injuries. Seeing that he had nothing to do, Galen asked the innkeeper to prepare three of the best rooms and food for eight people, and then chose the middle room. He entered the room, found the study, sat down, took out a piece of parchment, picked up a quill, dipped it in ink, and began to write.

Danath,

My beloved cousin. While traveling south through the Arathi Highlands, I encountered a group of troll hunters, and my guards and I annihilated them.

I discovered that they were collecting spider venom sacs in large quantities. As a Trollbane, you must have read in the library about the use of venom sacs collected by the Witherbark tribe.

The hunting team I annihilated included a level-seven warrior and a level-seven witch doctor. This level of strength has already entered the ruling class among trolls.

The annual troll sacrifice is approaching. I suspect the Witherbark Tribe will make a big move this time. You must be vigilant and watch out for trolls attacking villages and plundering civilians for live sacrifices.

Although this trip was short, I benefited greatly from fighting trolls of the same level.

I am now resting in Three Forks and will then return to Stromgarde. I will beg my father to let me form an army. As a Trollbane, I hope to join the army as soon as possible to defend the glory of Trollbane and protect the people.

Sincerely,

Galen

After finishing writing, Galen let out a long sigh, rolled up the parchment, and tied it with a ribbon. He took out sealing wax and lightly heated it over the flame of a nearby candle, then dripped it onto the seam of the parchment. He took out his ring and pressed it into the wax, and the Trollbane family emblem was imprinted on the seal. After doing all this, Galen leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes to rest. After a while, he connected his spirit to the Heart of Origin and turned his attention to the base. The base was brightly lit at night.

Eight or nine hours had passed since they departed at noon, and the base's population had increased significantly. The newly trained farmers were assigned tasks according to Cliff's arrangement. The farmers' work could be roughly divided into four categories. The first type settled in each farm to harvest wheat and then process it in the small mill on the farm itself. Galen observed the base almost every day, so he had a general understanding of the farmers' work mode on the farm.

Once the farm was built, there would be a batch of mature magic wheat in the farmland. After sending a farmer to be stationed there, they would immediately begin harvesting the wheat and then continue to sow new seeds, transport water for irrigation every day, and eliminate insects and weeds after irrigation. As the land had constant fertility, there was no need to apply fertilizer. During this period, the farmers would go to small mills to process the harvested wheat. Ten days later, the wheat would mature, and then a new round of harvesting and sowing would begin.

The second category was relatively simple. These were farmers chosen by Galen to construct new buildings. They would leave their current work and prioritize construction until the building was completed and they became idle again. The previous two categories were not under Cliff's command. The remaining two types of work were mining and logging. Currently, due to Galen's previous top-up behavior, the amount of gold was large and wood resources were scarce, so there were more lumberjacks than people in the mine.

Six new infantrymen also came out of the barracks and joined the patrol team. The two teams that had been patrolling during the day were resting in the barracks and would need to take turns to take over during the night. Turning his mental attention to look at the other side, he discovered that the Altar of Kings had been completed. Galen was excited. This was a building that could train heroes. Each of them had the potential to become a level-ten legend. Moreover, with them, the base's troops would have someone to command them.

Altar of Kings: Can summon new heroes and revive fallen heroes. Can provide powerful strength to the host. When deploying the Altar of Kings previously, Galen had read the introduction of this building, which was about summoning and resurrecting heroes. He understood that, just like in the game, it should be possible to summon four heroes: Archmage, Paladin, Blood Mage, and Mountain King.

But what did it mean by providing powerful strength to the host? With this doubt in mind, he finally waited until the Altar of Kings was completed so he could find out what it was like. The Altar of Kings was entirely built of enormous white marble. It was basically a platform with dozens of huge stone steps. On the platform stood a giant stone statue with a sword in both hands, and to the left and right of the giant were two Roman columns guarding it.

Galen also didn't know how the Heart of Origin managed to build a marble building with 1,800 units of gold and 500 units of wood. You can't ask, asking is the power of God. Cast your spirit towards the Altar of Kings and connect with the Heart of Origin subsystem within the altar. The altar panel will appear with two figures on it.

Archmage Hero Type: Intelligence Hero, proficient in frost magic Talent Skills: Blizzard, Water Elemental, Brilliance Aura, Group Teleport Hero Enhancement: Level 7-10 (depending on host strength) Summoning Time: five days

Paladin Hero Type: Strength Hero, devout user of holy light Talent Skills: Holy Light, Holy Shield, Devotion Aura, Resurrection Hero Enhancement: Level 7-10 (depending on host strength) Summoning Time: five days

These four lights and shadows were the first interface of the Altar of Kings. Although there were only two heroes for the time being, Galen was still quite excited. When he saw that there was a second page to the Altar of Kings, he became extremely excited. He had previously guessed that the function of the Altar of Kings was not just to summon heroes, and he was right. He moved towards the second interface with excitement. Two abilities appeared, put your mental energy on them.

Power of Kings: Absorbs the soul power of powerful creatures, with a certain probability of transforming into altar heroes.

The Royal Road: Passive You will be able to have one-thousandth of the power bonus of your people. Requirements: Rule a city with a population of more than 10,000, and you will become the king (secondary main city unlocked)

King's Call: Instant. As king, you can summon the power of every powerful being that has ever appeared on your planet (unlocked at the third-level castle) Duration: 120 seconds (renewable) Cost: Gold per unit, Wood per unit

What incredible news! The three abilities on the second page were like winning a 50 million jackpot, making Galen feel extremely happy from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. The first ability should be used to supplement the multiple original heroes in the Altar of Kings. Needless to say, the second ability meant that the more people under his command, the stronger his power would be. He just didn't know if the people here referred to the population trained in the base, or included the native population of Azeroth, or even included intelligent races other than humans. He would have to test this himself later. In Galen's opinion, the third ability was simply a cheat. The powerful beings that have appeared on this planet, Azeroth, is a planet transformed by Titans. It has been visited by Titans, and Azeroth is known to have the strongest Titans since its birth. Even if Ai-chan (T.N. the soul of the planet) and the Titans are not counted, there are still powerful beings such as the Titan Keepers, Odin, Ra-den, and Tyr. There is also a group of desert demigods and the four elemental lords, all of whom have strength far exceeding the legendary level. Compared to obtaining the power of these powerful creatures, ten thousand units of gold and ten thousand units of wood seemed worth it.
