"Kaien please could you wrap up that sack next to you"
We were back in the carriage and moving, the sun was starting to rise in the horizon.
We had atleast taken a few hours of sleep, and we took turns watching the night, the way they had told me was that it was dangerous not to keep watch at night.
"Okay, don't worry"
And this was due to monsters that roamed at night, stalking for sleeping prey, to me that was scary, to know that there were monsters that were lurking around while we were sleeping.
"Look at him sleeping without a care in the world"
Analese said as she steered the carriage, the old man was sleeping soundly, and he was even snoring too, this also added to Analese's frustration.
"Don't be like him when you grow old Kaien"
At this I released a light laugh, the grandfather and granddaughter duo was pretty nice and fun to be around too.
"Don't worry, I'll try to not be like him"
I had stayed up all night pretending to sleep, questioning the voice about its purpose and why I was chosen and such, but it's answers were vague at best.
It kept repeating that I needed to reach a certain amount of strength to get the answers I needed.
"Aye Analese don't be like that to your old grandpa"
The old man woke up and looked at us with a sly smile as he scratched his head.
"No grandpa you should help with steering I'm tired so you should take over."
Saying this Analese gave the reigns to the old man.
She walked and over to me and sat down next to me, and now that I saw it she was really beautiful, I felt like she was too beautiful.
"Kaien do you not remember anything?"
I still didn't remember anything and my name which I didn't even know was my name was probably fed to me by the voice in my head.
"No except my name I don't remember anything."
I said with a low voice, I was still unable to remember anything.
"It's okay give it time it will come naturally"
Saying this she turned her head to her grandfather who steering the carriage.
"Old man slow down, don't rush!"
The old man who was steering slowed down clearly hearing his s granddaughter.
"Kaien I bet you're curious about what we are doing here, travelling in the middle of a forest."
Yeah I was kind of curious about that but I was hesitant to ask, I knew that they owned a business of some sorts and they hired me as their delivery boy.
"Yeah"
At my answer Analese smiled a little and looked at her grandfather who steering while whistling.
"Well you wouldn't have guessed but, my grandfather was once the head of a noble famiy"
I didn't expect that really, who knew that this carefree old man was so important, he didn't even show it.
"That's unexpected"
"Haha you're right, he doesn't look like a noble at all"
With a little laugh Analese looked at her grandfather with warmth in her eyes, she clearly loved her grandpa very much.
I didn't know why but seeing their family love for each other I felt a prick in my heart, I felt a longing something that was missing.
Did I also have someone I loved like Analese loved her grandpa.
I wouldn't know it would I, I didn't have any memories.
"It was due to his love for his children that we are merchants now, his sacrifice for fatherly love"
I could feel the the sadness in her voice, she truly loved her grandfather.
