It was a lovely Friday morning at Graystone University. Skylar was rushing through the halls with her notebook, trying to find her class. It has already been a week since she arrived and yet she was still struggling to find her classes!
'Am I suppose to go left or right?' She thought to herself. "Hmmmn It's right" She said taking a turn to the right. In her haste, she makes the turn and slams into someone.
The book in her hand fell and she stumbles back, barely catching herself.
" Finding it difficult to see?" a deep, amused voice drawls.
She looks up to see a tall young man with dark, piercing eyes and an unreadable expression. Dressed in a white T-shirt,black jacket and blue jeans. The sleeves of the jacket were rolled up, revealing strong forearms. He looks… effortlessly cool.
"I—I can see just fine," she stammers, cheeks burning. She didn't understand her reaction.
He raises an eyebrow. "Right. So you just believe you can pass through people?"
Flustered, she glares at him. "That's not it! I—I just.."
He chuckles, amused by her reaction and walks away without another word. She watches him go, her annoyance rising.
"Ugh. Who does he think he is?" she mutters, picking up her book as she dashes through the hall to her class. Luckily she arrived on time for the class.
Later that day, at the cafeteria. Skylar was standing by the counter with her sister ready to order food.
" I'm soo tired, ugh, I felt like that class was never going to end" Kira said rubbing the back of her neck.
"Was it that bad?" Skylar asked.
"It wasn't bad but it was boring and long. It was the most boring history class I've ever been in" Kira sighed. She had a pityful expression on her face, making sure to show the torture she felt.
" Ah, you poor thing " Skylar said has she took their tray of food.
Meanwhile, a pair of eyes were watching her from the far end corner of the cafeteria.
"How was your class today? " Kira asked as they started walking to their table.
"It was fine but...…" She tripped before she could complete her words. Though she was able to catch herself the same couldn't be said for her food that splashed on a girl sitting at a table close to her.
The spaghetti and her drink splashed all over the girl's back!!
Her eyes went wide with shock as the food landed on her. She stood up abruptly. Her mouth wide open as she turned to face Skylar.
"What the...." the girl said as she looked at Sky.
"I am soo sorry, I—I uhm uhm" She didn't even know what to say to the girl. She could only apologize, as she felt really bad about what was happening.
The girl was putting on a white blouse and pair of white jeans. her dark eyes staring at her in disbelief.
Skylar was already feeling the tension as all eyes were fixed on her and the girl. The entire room was quite! It was as if everyone was holding their breath waiting for the girl's reaction.
She felt a sudden sense of dread as she looked around to see other students looking at her in horror. Some were shaking their heads looking at her in pity. Others looked at her like she has committed a terrible crime. Even Kira couldn't move or speak as if she was frozen with shock and fear.
Skylar looked at the girl again whose mouth was opening and closing like she was trying to say something but couldn't. She was already feeling cold sweat forming in her back. She wondered who this girl is.
After what seems like eternity. The girl took a deep breath and released it through her mouth. She didn't say a word. She just closed her eyes and said " It's okay"
There was evident shock in the room. With everyone having the same wide eyes.
" I can see your laces are untied and you probably didn't notice it" She paused. "so I might just let this slide cause it looks like you're new here" Skylar's mouth was hanging open. Then the girl patted her shoulder and walked away without saying another word. She took a glance at her and Kira before leaving the café.
Skylar was confused as she had expected the girl to lash out on her. She expected her to explode or hit her even. Yet none of that happened.
She turned to face Kira and Kira was also staring at her. They both shared the same expression. Everyone was equally stunned.
After a while they both walked to their table, still trying to process what just happened.
"What just happened? " Kira asked still in shock.
"I don't know" Skylar said. She was still confused.
Then a girl from the other table rushed over to them.
" Hi, my name is Rose" She said
"Hi?" The sisters said in unison.
"I'm sorry for asking but can I sit at your table? Rose asked. The sisters nodded and she sat down.
" Hmm, I wanted to ask if you know who that girl was" Rose said her eyes looking intently at the sisters.
" I think I do but I'm not really sure if she's the same person" Kira said.
"I don't know who she is" . Said Skylar. "do you know her?" She asked Rose.
"Everyone does. There's no one in this school who doesn't know her. And even if they don't know her, they have at least heard of her." Rose said filling her in. "Her name is Bella, Bella Moon."
"Yes I've heard about her but I've never seen her" Kira said.
" Who is she? " Skylar really wanted to know, so she'll know if she should go into hiding.
" Well she's the most popular girl in school. She's at the top of her class and the most "scariest" person in the whole school ". Rose said.
" Why did you use quotation when saying the scary?" Kira asked.
"It's because the school sees her that way....No she gives off that vibe. Though she hasn't done anything to anyone but the school fears her and her friends ". Rose said.
"You mean the GOLDEN THREE?" Kira asked.
"Yes" Rose confirmed.
"Who are they?" Skylar asked.
"From what I heard, the gold three are the most feared group in the school. They practically run this place. They are said to be the top students in the school. Always at the top of their class and have a reputation of sending people to the hospital ". Kira said.
"That's true " Rose said nodding. "But no one knows if she has ever sent anyone to the hospital though, it's just the boys".
"can you tell me their names?" Skylar asked.
"Sure" Rose said excitedly.
Skylar could tell that Rose was the type to love gossip and she can also tell she's a talkative.
"There names are Jace Cliff and Cyrus Brown. These seniors are the terrorist of the school. Some say the only reason they are still here is because of Bella." Rose said in a whisper like she's telling them a secret. "Some say the boys came to the school because of her while others believe she came because of them. But either way they are very close and she's known as the center of the group".
"I see..." Skylar drawls and nodded her head. "I just decorated the center of the group with Spaghetti and Orange juice". She didn't know if she should cry or laugh at herself at this point. "That explains why everyone looked at me with dread... I'm doomed!" She said as she bangs her head on the table.
Lifting her head, she said, "I wanted to graduate peacefully but it seems That's not going to happen "
" Don't worry, I think you'll be fine.... as long as you keep a distance from them and never cross paths with her friends" Rose said.
But little did they no that she had actually meet all three of them. She met one at the library two days ago, the other this morning and now.
"No offense Sis but I think you're lucky that it was Bella and not the other two" Kira said. " I'm not gonna lie, She gives off a strong, oppressing aura. I've never been so scared of a girl before"
" Me too. I just hope I don't get put in a 'to be sent to the hospital' list". Skylar said.
" Don't worry, she said she'll let it slide so I think you're safe " Rose said.
"I hope so" Skylar said.
Far from the cafeteria, a young man was sitting under a tree playing a game on his phone. Then he saw Bella walking to her dorm covered in spaghetti. He lifted a brow in amusement a smile on his face as he skipped towards her.
"What happened to you?" he asked as he approached her.
" Nothing, just a little accident in the Café ". Bella said with a shrug.
" Little? you look like you're a part of the ingredients for a meal". He had an amused smile on his face. " I was starting to get hungry so I might as well eat from you ". He said picking a strand of spaghetti from her shirt.
" Stop it Cy" Bella said shooting him a glare. He stopped but that didn't stop the annoying grin from growing on his face.
"Fine, but have you seen Jace? I haven't seen him today". Cyrus said.
" He's at the cafeteria. Now if you'll excuse me". Bella said pushing him to the side and walking to her dorm.
Cyrus chuckled but went back to sitting under the tree. He wondered what happened in the Café. oh well, he'll just ask Jace later in the evening then. He smiled.
