Chapter 4 - The one left behind

The wind blew softly, the question seemed to hang in the morning air, without waiting any longer.

"Of course, of course you will go to nature, to a place where you can rest peacefully," said Genderuwo, his eyes staring straight at the girl.

A moment of silence filled, only replaced by the cold morning wind.

"So... Will you choose to leave? Someday?"

The girl was silent, her gaze dull, then she looked away, seeing the sun rising from behind the shadows of the city.

"I... Maybe, I want to rest," said the girl in a very faint tone.

"That's good... I will support you, I respect your decision."

They stood side by side, watching the beautiful sun rise slowly.

"Genderuwo." Called the girl, turning her head towards him while holding an old-fashioned camera.

Genderuwo sighed, then his hand rose to gently stroke the girl's head.

"Don't call me that, okay... It's just a classification, you know?"

The girl was pensive, looking up to observe the Genderuwo.

"Classification? So that's not your name?" The girl's tone came out innocently, like a curious child.

The Genderuwo nodded slightly.

"That's right, my name is Tirta, that's my real name."

The Genderuwo's body was covered in red light, until finally it seemed as if the light was knitting, forming something, a young man in a regular t-shirt.

The girl was still silent, then her eyes looked up and down, examining the figure standing beside her.

"Come on, don't look at me like that, so? What did you want to say earlier?"

Instantly the girl's eyes withered, her head bowed down, the light in her eyes dimmed instantly.

"Can we go to where her sister is?" She said in a very soft tone.

Tirta's eyes dimmed, then he nodded slightly.

"We can do it, give me the camera."

The girl held out her camera, and Tirta's hand reached for it, holding the camera together.

Like a short journey, where the scenery that was passed was only like a liquid canvas, the girl was agitated.

When the girl saw all the scenery like a cassette tape that was played quickly, the figure in front of her smiled thinly.

And now... They stopped moving, right in a small apartment.

From behind the window, he saw a girl, studying and focusing on her worldly things.

They stepped forward, looking closer.

Tirta held the small camera, and a small scratch was visible there.

"Her name is Mifta, right? It seems she is the younger sister of the young man."

The girl approached, to see Mifta, studying? Or... Something else? As soon as the girl was close she saw her, she was drawing, drawing Monas with perfect detail, with beautiful colors.

The girl remained silent and watched, her eyes were dull, and the feeling of tightness came back to her. Mifta's hand reached out to take a monochrome photo frame, seeing a long lost memory.

His hand moved to gently rub the frame, Mifta's lips spread sincerely and sadly.

"Brother... If only you were still around... Maybe you would praise my drawing, right?" He monologued, while looking at the frame in front of him lovingly.

Silence fell, the sadness seemed to make the world gray.

"But that's impossible... Brother is no longer there... May you rest in peace."

The girl put the small camera aside, gently, without Mifta even realizing it.

"Hey... Are you sure you want to give it?"

The girl didn't answer any more, she came out of the apartment room, now looking at the faded morning sky and feeling comfortable.

Meanwhile, Mifta was surprised to find his brother's ancient camera beside him, he took it quickly, it was still working.

Her hands... Trembling, she began to examine the photos, and at that moment, her eyes widened, seeing the photo of her brother taking a photo next to Monas, her tears fell heavily.

A cry of sadness, a soft scream that howled the soul... Her hands hugged the camera tightly.

Now they walked side by side, still lost in their own thoughts. Tirta glanced, seeing the gloomy expression of the girl beside him.

"Come on... Don't be sad, you've done something good, you know?" Tirta said, trying to lighten the mood and cheer her up.

The girl was lost in thought, staring straight ahead, she saw a vehicle starting to pass by in the city.

"It feels like this world is unfair, I don't know... Maybe it's just my joke." The girl said in a slightly sad tone.

Hearing those words, a small chuckle escaped Tirta's mouth, the girl turned her head, she narrowed her eyes, feeling a little offended.

"Maybe you're right... This world is indeed unfair, for those who are alive, or even those who are dead? Well... What differentiates these two things is hope... Because those who are dead... Can't hope anymore."

The girl fell silent, looking down with a worn expression, and with drooping eyes.

They walked again, continuing their journey, until something disturbed the girl's senses. A fishy smell was smelled, she covered her nose.

The smell came from behind, and when she turned her head, her eyes widened.

The creature was only a head, and the lower body was only an organ that was open and extremely exposed, A small scream escaped her lips, her eyes trembled, as did her body.

"Hey, don't bother us, aren't you investigating?" Tirta's sarcastic tone came out, he stared at the creature sharply.

The girl's tongue felt numb, her head spinning in confusion. And once again when she turned to the creature... She changed, into a girl with short black hair, with casual clothes in general.

"What do you want to come here Astri?"

Astri sighed, then she stepped forward to pay attention to the girl.

"Her name is Kunti, huh? That suits her very well," she said in a friendly tone, then her hand reached out. "Let me introduce myself, my name is Astri, and I am the ghost of Kuyang."

Silence filled, the girl's body was still shaking slightly.

"So... That form was you?" She said in a slightly trembling voice.

"Yes... It looks ugly and disgusting, very, if I wanted I would want someone as beautiful as you." Astri said in a friendly tone typical of women.

Tirta cleared his throat, his gaze sharp, and there was a sense of dislike in his tone.

"If there is nothing important you want to say, hurry up and leave."

Astri sighed then nodded in resignation.

"Well... I think I need some people to investigate the Runner, he is a bit difficult to track." She said with a fake casual gesture.

The girl narrowed her eyes, her gaze turned to Astri curiously.

"The Runner? Who is that?" She asked in a faint tone.

"So it's like this Kunti... I got an investigation to investigate Manggarai Station, there have been many reports of apparitions there, one of them being the Runner."

A few seconds of pause filled, then followed by Titra.

"I heard many reports from the train drivers who saw shadows running in front of the train, and it disturbed their work." Tirta added in a tone that was still unhappy.

Astri stepped forward to catch up with Tirta.

"I beg you Tirta, help me investigate this, if you want to invite Kunti too, that's okay." Astri pleaded pleadingly, making Tirta's heart waver a little.

Tirta turned to the girl.

"How about Kunti? Do you want to come?"

The girl hesitated, glanced a few times in confusion, but then she nodded gently.

"Okay, let's go."

Astri held their hands, then they floated, starting to fly in the air to get to the place.

Time eroded, and now they arrived at Manggarai Station even though it took quite a long time, they walked observing the surroundings, looking right and left, feeling an unpleasant atmosphere.

"So this is where many strange events occur?" Tirta asked, his tone heavy, emphasizing his focus.

Astri nodded slowly, Tirta sighed and started walking again, examining and looking around.

"Is it just me... Or is this place a little darker than usual—Akhhh!"

Tirta's body staggered, the pain spread, something penetrated him from behind, his consciousness faded, and when he looked down, he saw a foot, just piercing through his body.

"Tirta!? Tirta!?" Kunti and Astri's voices were heard faintly, the supernatural blood tinge disappeared, and slowly... His consciousness disappeared.
