Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

Once upon a time, in a world inhabited solely by humans, everything seemed to flow as it always had.

Human civilization thrived, kingdoms rose in splendor, knowledge began to take form, and progress marched forward steadily.

But everything changed on a night that would never be forgotten.

The sky cracked like glass struck by a colossal hammer. A deafening roar shook the earth, and blinding light tore the heavens into fragments of reality.

From those fractures emerged beings the world had never known: the Orcs, towering and green-skinned with fierce gazes; the Goblins, swift and cunning; and the Elves, graceful and mysterious, carrying with them an ancient magic from forests.

This convergence of races something that was never meant to be, threw the world into chaos.

Language barriers, cultural divides, and clashing ways of life birthed deep mistrust and fear.

It didn't take long before war erupted. Blood was spilled, and the world that once belonged solely to humans turned into a battlefield for two full centuries.

But like embers dying in the wind, the war eventually lost its fire.

After two hundred years, the leaders of the four races gathered for tense negotiations.

They came to a realization: war brought no progress, only endless suffering.

A peace treaty was signed.

For the first time in two centuries, the world knew silence.

The four races began to coexist, learning to understand one another and rebuild a shattered civilization.

But peace, as always, was fleeting.

The sky cracked once more.

But this time, no new race emerged but only monsters appears.

Grotesque, mindless creatures with no language, no reason, and only one goal: to destroy all living things in the world.

They poured endlessly from the dimensional fractures, attacking cities, villages, and anything in their path.

Fear returned.

But unlike before, the four races didn't turn on each other.

They united.

For the first time in history, Humans, Orcs, Goblins, and Elves stood side by side not as enemies, but as comrades-in-arms.

Together, they formed alliances and fought back against a threat far greater than inter-racial conflict.

From those same dimensional rifts came something else, an anomaly.

A raw, unknown energy later called the Arcane.

Arcane became the foundation of magic, a force the world had never possessed.

Quickly, all four races studied its power.

Battle-mages were born, Arcane scholars rose, and new weapons combining magic and technology were crafted.

Three centuries passed, and from that long struggle, a mighty organization was founded: H.O.G.E short for Human, Orc, Goblin, and Elf.

More than just a symbol of unity, H.O.G.E became the central force protecting the world.

Their mission: maintain balance and defend the earth from the monsters that still emerged from the rifts.

Within H.O.G.E, a special division was created: The Sentinels.

Elite warriors chosen from the finest across all races.

They were the last line of defense when ordinary armies could no longer hold the line.

Becoming a Sentinel was no simple feat.

It demanded brutal training, life-or-death trials, and unwavering dedication.

But the rewards were great, enormous pay, fame, and access to the finest weapons and Arcane technology available only to H.O.G.E.

Five centuries have passed since H.O.G.E was born. The world has changed.

Cities now rise into the skies with floating towers powered by Arcane and mechanical ingenuity.

The four races live together in multi-racial cities.

A Goblin can become an engineer.

An Elf can teach at a university.

Differences no longer divide but empower.

Yet danger still lingers.

Rifts continue to appear, sometimes without warning, bringing disaster in their wake.

To counter this, H.O.G.E's greatest minds created a revolutionary tool called the Radar.

Not just any device, Radar can detect Arcane patterns from other dimensions, predicting when and where rifts will open.

It can even analyze the type and strength of monsters emerging, giving Sentinels time to prepare.

Threat levels are classified into five colors:

Red: Extreme danger. Only A-Rank Sentinels can respond.

Yellow: High threat. Requires experienced teams and advanced tactics.

Green: Dangerous, but manageable by C-Rank teams or higher.

Blue: Standard threats.

White: Low-level threats but not to be underestimated.

In turn, Sentinels themselves are ranked:

RankA – Living legends. Only five known exist. They are the world's balance-keepers.

Rank B – Seasoned fighters, capable of handling major threats.

Rank C – Skilled warriors with broad experience.

Rank D – Standard combatants.

Rank E – Rookies still in their learning phase.

Though rare, some individuals rise through the ranks at lightning speed due to immense talent or mysterious power.

They are called Phenomena the ones who may become legends.

But not everyone can wield Arcane freely.

In truth, most people across all races are born with only a faint trace of it.

They cannot shape spells, enhance their bodies, or control elements.

They live ordinary lives as office workers, merchants, teachers, or laborers.

High-ranking Sentinels are admired by all.

Their names are spoken on the news, their faces plastered on billboards, and their stories inspire children around the world.

Becoming a Sentinel is the ultimate achievement one reached by only the most gifted.

Modern life on Earth is also structured into districts, labeled from A to Z.

District A houses H.O.G.E's headquarters.

And in District C, on a stormy night lit by flashes of Arcane from a minor rift in the sky, a child was born.

Doctors quickly noticed something strange.

The child emitted no Arcane at all.

Even the scanners read zero.

In a world that had depended on Arcane for centuries, this was nearly impossible.

The child was given a name: Lucian Valenhardt.
