Chapter 2: (Fragments)
Mike and Mio reappear just a few meters away from the bus station where Mio almost had an accident.
"Woow!! Wh...what just happened?, where are we Mikey? she asks while shivering from the shock of having her life flash before her eyes, "haa! I think we were able to get away from the bus station some how I guess, that was really close Mio, seriously u shouldn't....."wait a minute! What's this?, Mio suddenly cuts off Mike's words, "I think the real question is "when are we? She says while looking at the live broadcast on the big screen with a surprised expression, the live broadcast is as follows (TODAY THE 16TH OF APRIL 2025 WE ARE WITNESSING A GLOBAL PHENOMENON WHICH IS NOT ONLY CAUSING THE DESTRUCTION AND SPLITTING OF CONTINENTS BUT ALSO THE RAPID MUTATION OF ALL LIVING BEINGS, EVEN HUMANS ARE STARTING TO AWAKEN UNNATURAL ABILITIES, PLEASE STAY INDOORS AND WAIT FOR AN EVACUATION, THE MILITARY WILL ENSURE THAT CIVILIANS ARE BROUGHT TO SAFE.....) The broadcast gets cut off by a wave of unknown radiation. "Umm... I don't know what's happening but that wave is definitely getting closer, we gotta get out of here! She says while hearing the sound of shattering glasses from near by buildings, "Mikey.. Mikey?! Mikey!!, she yells while running towards him, Mike who is in a state of extreme shock, is seeing flashes of unknown but familiar images in his head,"aaaahhhh!! My head.....! It hurts!!! Make it stop...!!, he shouts while on his knees with his two hands on his head, "Mikey!! Please u gotta snap out of it! Huh... Mikey! look out!!!, Mio sees an incoming debre, she rushes towards mike and pushes him down so they manage to dodge the debre but are immediately pushed back by the unknown wave, Mio passes out because of the shock from the wave but Mike who is still conscious gets up and rushes over to her. "Mio!! Mio...!! No I gotta get u out of here, just please hold on Mio! aahh! Come on!, some how "I got us here, so I should be able to get us back right?!! So come on! Focussss!!!. And suddenly while Mike is holding Mio in his hands with extreme focus they both disappear again.
Mike and Mio both re-appear in Mike's room and he drops her on the bed, "Mio just hold on, I'll call an ambulance and get u to the hos..pi..tal...., Mike collapses on the bed due to mental exhaustion.
THE NEXT DAY, IN THE MORNING
Mio wakes up slowly to what seems like a wonderful dream, (it's been a while since I had a dream this realistic, and honestly, I don't wanna wake up, I just wanna stay like this, and get swept away by his cute sleeping face, he looks so peaceful and handsome 💗 💗 gosh am such a pervert, but.. Since this is a dream, that means it doesn't matter if I...) As her thoughts unravel and she brings her face closer to Mike's in an attempt to do something she's always wanted to, Mike suddenly opens his eyes, "uhh..! M-Mio what are u doing? He asks while blushing, "well... What do u think am doing?, just hold still I'll be done in a minute, gosh! this dream is so...! realistic, she replies while getting closer to him, "umm... Mio, I don't think this is a dream.., he says with a nervous tone, "huh?!, wha..?! Aaahhh!!!, she jumps off the bed Completely embarrassed. "Wait y are we in bed together? U know what don't answer that, j-just forget this ever happened....!!! She screams while running out the house.
"Was she....actually going to... Ugh! What am I thinking! More importantly something strange happened to us yesterday, there's no way it was a dream cuz I remember bringing Mio to my room after that I.... I guess I passed out which explains y we were in bed together but how come we were under a blanket, ugh! I think that's probably mom's doing I wonder what weird thoughts must be going on in her mind when she did that Aaahh! Mom!, Come to think of it I brought us back yesterday by just thinking about coming home, hmm...I wonder...., suddenly Mike teleports himself out of bed, wooow..! All I did was think of where I wanted to go, this is Awesome! Mike grabs a book from his shelve and teleports it back to the shelve, "it seems like I can also teleport anything I touch, and for some reason I have these fragments of memories that show me and Mio being really close, some of them are quite strange too...Aaahh! am almost late for school!, Mike rushes into the bathroom, take's a shower, puts on his uniform and grabs a sandwich from the kitchen, "At this rate I won't make it in time...wait a minute I can just warp myself there with my new ability, Mike immediately teleports to school.
Mike appears in the boys bathroom in his school and immediately runs to the class room.
In class the homeroom teacher has something to announce, "Ahem! Class, today we have a transfer student so make sure to be friendly to her, Mrs Hawkins u can come in and introduce urself to the class now, the teacher says while a female student walks in to the classroom, her appearance and figure are top notch which impresses everyone except a boy who seems to be lost in thoughts in the back row, (who is that guy, everyone is already carried away by my beauty but he's not even fazed, let's just introduce myself first) "hi guys my name is Chloe Hawkins but my friends call me Chloe and although am a 3rd year student i'm only 17 years old my favorite color is sky blue like my hair, I hope I make a lot of friends and have fun while learning, thanks for having me, she introduces herself elegantly. Ok Mrs Hawkins u can sit where ever u want in the back row, the teacher says. She walks to the back row and sits besides mike who is still zoning out, "Hello?! Hello...Hello!! She says while slightly touching his arm, Huh?! Oh! Umm hi...sorry didn't see u there, he replies with an apologetic expression, "huh?! U didn't see me? Anyway my name is Chloe what's ur name? She asks with a slightly sad expression on her face, "...well my name is Mike...Mike Morgan nice to meet u, he replies reluctantly, "ok Mike let's be friends I'll call u Mike and u call me Chloe ok, she says with a smile on her face, "ok I guess but.... "Shouldn't students be paying attention to the teacher instead of chatting, Mio who is also sitting beside Mike near the window cuts off their conversation while glaring at Mike with an angry expression, Mike who was sitting in the middle of two beauties was extremely uncomfortable (who is this new girl and y is she talking to me, she seems familiar though, almost like I've seen her some where before, Anyway y does it feel like I did something wrong to Mio, she keeps glaring at me, I gotta get out of here...) lessons go on and The first period ends.
AT LUNCH BREAK, Mike is on the rooftop eating lunch alone when suddenly someone comes behind and covers his eyes with their hands, "umm...Mio if u wanna hit me cuz of what happened this morning just go ahead already, he says with certainty, "huh?! Mio? Who's that? Is she ur girlfriend? She removes her hands from his eyes and asks the question with curiosity, "Chloe...! what are u doing here? He asks nervously, "well I came to eat lunch with u as my new friend ofcourse, but u haven't answered my question yet, is Mio ur girlfriend or a friend, she asks with extreme curiosity, "well..No and no,I don't have a girlfriend and I don't have any friends and she's more like a bully than a friend although we've known each other since we were kids so... "I'm ur friend dummy! She cuts off Mike's words,"but since u knew each other since u were kids doesn't that make u her childhood friend... Hmm whatever, what are u eating ugh! What is it with guys and junk food, here let's share my lunch, open wide and say Aaaahh! She says while reaching out to Mike's mouth with the food in her hands, "umm...Chloe isn't this supposed to be done by couples? He immediately stands up while asking nervously, "huh?! Well friends can do it too, come on say Aaaahh! She says while getting up and walking closer to him as he keeps stepping back, Chloe accidentally steps on her shoe laces and trips and is about to fall, "Chloe careful! Stop! And suddenly Chloe and everything else freezes in place except Mike, "what's this,...is this another...ability of mine?, how many abilities do I have? #ANSWER- U HAVE 3 ABILITIES, 1 REGISTERED ABILITY AND 2 UNREGISTERED, WOULD U LIKE TO VIEW THE ABILITY LIST?# An AI computer voice suddenly answers Mike's question, "what the hell is happening? who is this, it sounds like an AI voice, what are u and y are u in my head? Mike asks out of shock #ANSWER-I AM THE SURVIVAL SYSTEM DESIGNED TO ASSIST THE HOST# the AI voice immediately replies to him. "Wait what? System? Survival? What is that? He asks again #ERROR! ERROR! THIS INFORMATION CANNOT BE REVEALED AT THIS TIME# the AI replies in a static tone, "what? Can't be revealed I thought it's meant to assist me... Whatever I have to stop Chloe from falling cuz whatever this ability is I can't hold it for long, am loosing control, After saying this Mike immediately grabs Chloe by the waste while everything goes back to normal, "huh? Wh-whoa! How did u get close so fast?! She says out of surprise, "umm...uh..Chloe I don't think u should be worried about that right now, I don't know how long I can hold onto u like this so... "Whaaaaa?! She cut's off Mike's words while immediately pushing mike away in embarrassment. (What was that just now, he's so fast, he caught me in a blink of an eye, plus from that angle he looked so handsome and cool, was he always that good looking or am I just noticing it now?, oh my gosh what am I thinking, my heart is beating so fast what is this feeling?) Chloe's thoughts unravel as she blushes in embarrassment "umm..Chloe...are u...okay? Mike asks with a slightly worried expression, "oh! I'm fine...umm uh..thank u for catching me, u must be really good at sports right? I mean ur so fast u must be, right? She asks out of curiosity, "...huh?!..well I've never really participated in sport activities before, he replies reluctantly while scratching the back of his head with his hands, "what?! Really..?! So how are u...., "umm sorry Chloe something just came up I gotta go!, Mike interrupts her words while running down the stairs in a haste, Mike wait! Ur lunch!, She yells while chasing after him, Mike gets to the second staircase while Chloe is still in the first staircase, he uses the opportunity to teleport as Chloe couldn't see him from her position. Huh?! Woah he's gone, I can't believe how fast he is, at this rate he should join the Olympics. We couldn't even share contact info... "What a shame right?!, a strange voice suddenly interrupts Chloe's words, the figure appears to be a girl in the same class as Chloe. "Wait ur the girl that was sitting beside Mike in class right? Miss model student!, Chloe says with sarcasm, "the name's Mio cruz, and word of advice stay away from Mikey, I won't warn u again!, she says angrily, "huh?! Why do u care?! Ur just a bully, although u might have known each other since u were kids but ur not even friends so why should... "Mikey is mine so stay away! As Mio says this, static electricity noise is heard while the lights on the stair case flicker and suddenly a huge breeze blows a bit of dust into Chloe's eyes. "Aaahh! My eyes! Mio help me, I think I got a little dust in my eyes! Chloe says as she wipes away the dust with her hands and opens her eyes. "Mio?! She's...gone?!.
Mio who ran to her locker to get her things to leave school early, confused at what is happening. (Something's not right! But I know for a fact that what happened just now was caused by me, I don't know how but I felt like I released some kind of energy, I have to go home and tell mom about this before something bad happens..) "Hey Mio can I get ur number, I was hoping to get to know u, a figure who appears to be a guy in Mio's class. "Oh uh! Sorry Brad I'm not interested, Mio replies, "Aww! Come on..! I don't bite, atleast give me ur number, he says while grabbing her hands forcefully, "hey! Brad let go of my hands immediately, she says with an irritated expression, "come on don't be like that, I think we'll be great friends, Brad says while getting closer to Mio. "I said..! LET GO!!!, Mio who is in a hurry to go home and is now irritated by Brad's behavior tries to push him away but a huge gust of wind suddenly blasts him away through her hands, and Mio who is scared and confused runs away with out looking back.
Meanwhile Mike who reaches home through his teleportation ability suddenly starts trembling, fragments of strange memories start flooding into his head all at once, and due to excessive mental stress he collapses on the couch in the living room of his house.
