Bryce tore into the room, the sound of gunfire still reverberating. Executioner sat on the floor, pistol clutched in his small hand, his laughter chilling contrast to the lifeless body. Bryce's eyes gaze locked as he grabbed the gun and snatched up Executioner.
' we need to get out of here'
They left the house behind, the darkness of the night swallowing them whole.
In a new town, Bryce rented a dingy room, his wallet almost empty. A neighbor, a man with a third eye, stood in the hallway. " you are holding a devil, a killer in the making." he said.
Executioner's eyes locked onto the man, cold calculations burning in their depths. His small hand made a swift, slashing motion across his throat, but Bryce didn't catch it. " Back off," Bryce growled, pushing the neighbor toward his door.
As the neighbor retreated, Executioner's gaze lingered on the door, his body stiff. Bryce's grip on him tightened. " let's go." he whispered, pulling Executioner into their cramped room.
Bryce and Executioner tidied up the room, their gentil giggles filled the room as they worked side by side. Once the chores were done, they settled down together as father and son, the atmosphere cozy and warm.
Executioner waited patiently for his father to drift off to sleep, and as the night deepened, rain began to patter against the windows. Bryce eventually succumbed to slumber, his breathing steady and peaceful.
Executioner rose quietly, glancing at Bryce to ensure he was truly asleep.
Satisfied, he stood in the dim light, casting playful shadows on Bryce face, a wicked smile spreading across his own. With a sudden shift demeanor, he retrieved a sleek assassin sword from his bag, admiring it's glinting blade with dark, twisted smile.
As the rain continued to fall, he slipped out of the room, the sound of the storm masking his footsteps. He made his way to the man with the third eye's room, where the man lay oblivious in the darkness. With a swift, practiced motion, Executioner plunged the sword into him, a chilling satisfaction washing over him as he cut through flesh and bone, leaving nothing but chaos in his wake.
Quickly, he retrace his steps, but as he exited the house, a woman caught sight of him.
" whose child is this?" she exclaimed, her voice laced with curiosity.
Executioner, concealed the sword and allowed the woman to approach. She scooped him up, her smile warm and inviting, but it was short-lived. In a flash, he drew the blade once more, severing her head with a precise slash.
With a laugh that echoed in the stillness of the night, he darted back to his room, slipping inside as nothing had happened. Bryce remained undisturbed in his sleep, blissfully unaware of the darkness that had unfolded just beyond the door. Executioner made his way to the kitchen, washing the blood from the sword with meticulous care before hiding it back in his bag. Satisfied, he climbed into bed, closing his eyes and drifting off into dreamless sleep.
4:00am
Bryce jolted awake, the sounds of screams and the distant wail of an ambulance slicing through the heavy silence of the dawn. His heart raced as he heard urgent knocks on the door, a frantic rhythm that pulled him from the depths of sleep. He turned instinctively, his gaze landing on Executioner, who was towered over the room.
With a deep breath, Bryce pushed himself up and made his way to the door, curiosity mingling with dread. As he opened it, a police officer stood there, his expression grave, the weight of the night heavy on his shoulders.
" I'm investigating a double homicide," the officer said, " A man and a woman were found dead last night."
Bryce's stared expanded as he caught a glimpse of a body being carried out from a nearby room, a shroud of disbelief wrapping around him.
The officer continued, " Did you see anything unusual?"
"No,"
Bryce replied, his thoughts spun out of control. He couldn't shake the memory of the man from the previous day, the one who had called his son a devil.
"what exactly happened?"" Two people were killed, it appears they were attacked with swords." The officer explained.
Shock coursed through Bryce, and he instinctively turned to look at the Executioner. To his horror, he found him watching from the windows, his lips curled into a wicked smile, as if he reveled in the chaos unfolding outside. Laughter that bubbled up from Executioner's throat was a chilling reminder that darkness lurked just beyond the threshold of his understanding.
Bryce pulse quickened as he glanced over his shoulder, the officer's footsteps resonated faintly in the hallway. He quickly slipped into his room, shutting the door with soft click. with trembling hands, he pulled down the blinds, ensuring no prying eyes could see inside.
He turned to face Executioner, who lounged casually in the chair, a sinister grin on his lips. Bryce approached, his voice low and urgent.
" Did you kill them?"
Executioner leaned back, a glint of amusement in his eyes.
" I had to. They deserved it."
Bryce staggered back, disbelief washing over him. " What do you mean they deserved it? they were innocent!"
Executioner smile, a chilling contrast to the gravity of Bryce's words. " Innocence is a luxury, Bryce. sometimes, the world needs to be cleansed. You all people should understand that."
Bryce's stomach churned as he processed the twisted logic. " You 're not a judge. You don't get to decide who lives and who dies!"
" Maybe not, and I'd do it again if it meant ridding this world of fifth." Executioner replied, his tone dripping with mockery.
Bryce face turn in anger, a protective instinct flaring within him. " You 're sick! This isn't justice, it's murder!"
Executioner shrugged, unfazed.
" Justice is a just a word, Bryce. It's all about perspective. And from where I stand, I'm doing the world a favor."
Bryce's thoughts swirled in chaos, grappling with the reality of his child's darkness.
" You are not a monster, you 're my son. You can't think like this."
Executioner's expression hardened, the whimsical air vanished from his face. " maybe you should have thought about that before you let them get to me. I'm not the one who created this monster, Dad, you did."
Silence hung heavy in the air, the weight of their confrontation settling like a veil. Bryce's heart ached, torn between love and horror as faced the chilling truth of who his son had become.
