"Oh dear, why are you still holding the child, sister? He's already gone", A voice sneered in the dim light.
"Come on, give him to me, I promise we'll make the most of his body", the voice continued, as someone rudely shoved Luna Curtis, causing her to stumble.
But in the next instant, she clutched the child in her arms like a frightened bird, screaming, " Get out! All of you, get out!".
The intruder laughed coldly, as if hearing a joke " Luna Curtis, what's the point of holding him now? He's already been drained of his blood. It won't hurt to donate his organs and corneas. Once we've taken what we need, we'll make sure he's buried in a nice spot".
" Mira Curtis, you'll pay for this!" Luna screamed again, her voice raw and filled with anguish " Trevor was so young, How could you do this to him?"
"Listen to yourself,sister. I didn't lay a finger on Trevor. You, his own mother, agreed to the blood draw", Mira replied, her voice dripping with mockery
"And honestly, I admire you, sister. It takes a special kind of heartlessness to do that to your own son", Mira laughed, the sound like a dagger stabbing into Luna's heart.
It was her! She agreed to let them draw Trevor's blood. But she hadn't known this heartless people had planned to kill him all along.
They made her watch as Trevor was drained of every last drop of blood from his body.
His innocent beautiful eyes closing forever. Luna fought with all her might to reclaim Trevor's body, and in the struggle, they blinded her with acid.
The burning agent sensation in her eye sockets hadn't faded, and her heart was filled with regret.
She held her child tightly,but Trevor's body continued to grow colder. The little boy who always called her "mommy" with a cute serious face was truly gone forever.
Luna screamed in anguish, "why, Mira Curtis, why did you do this to me?"
" I gave you everything, I treated you more than a cousin, I loved you like a sister"
"Why? Because you, Luna Curtis,don't deserve anything!"
"I am the rightful heiress to the Curtis family, but everyone only remembers you, Luna Curtis. And Maybell , she's my and Irving's biological daughter. She should enjoy the status of the Horton family's little princess, but because of you, she can only be known as Irving's adopted daughter!. Do you know how much that hurts me?".
"Maybell Horton..... Is your biological daughter?". Luna asked in disbelief.
"Of course, I was pregnant with Irving's child before you married into the Horton family. From the beginning to the end, you were the only fool , Luna Curtis " Mira laughed triumphantly.
The piercing laughter struck Luna like a bolt of lightning. She trembled and whispered, "impossible, Irving was always by my side, comforting and reassuring me".
" Of course, he had to comfort you. How else could he trick you into handing over the Horton's family shares.
Luna's world crumbed. She gritted her teeth and growled, " even if you get my shres, Shane Horton will never let you succeed".
That god like man was always in control....
Mira sneered "Speaking of which, I have to thank you, sister,if it weren't for you stealing those confidential documents from Shane Horton s study for us, we couldn't have won so quickly"
"As for Shane Horton, he's probably fish food by now! So, Luna, be smart and hand Trevor's body to me, and I might consider leaving him in one piece".

Regret exploded in Luna's heart, turning into an endless pain. Suddenly, she erupted, clutching her child tightly and charging at Mira with all her might!
She remembered clearly that there was a small table to her left.
One the table were the remnants of alcohol, and in her pocket was a custom lighter . She had originally planned to give Irving Horton a surprise. Now ,it would serve it's best purpose.
Clicking the lighter, she tossed it on the table and fire engulfed the room.
Hearing the terrified screams of Mira, amidst the fierce flames, she smiled eerily...
