" What on earth are you doing here?"
Lyra smirked. She crossed her arms over her chest as she took a step closer to they guy saying, " You act like I'm here to see you. Sorry to disappoint but I'm here for Morvan. Tell him I'm here".
But instead, the guy blocked the entrance with his huge body as he said, " My father has nothing to do with you, Lyra. Leave him be. Each time you come here, you always bring worries and trouble. Now, we are finally living a peaceful life, let us be". Lyra chuckled at his statement.
She found him funny. If she indeed brought trouble, they should be dead by now. Regardless of how bad she wanted to hex this guy, she answered him rather arrogantly, " Hunter, I'm sorry to break it to you but if it weren't for me, you'd be dead by now, you and your father. So, you should be thanking me. And who knows, I might've come with the intention to warn you about some big issues but with your attitude now, I don't think I want to anymore ".
Hunter frowned. What did she mean by his attitude? He was just saying the truth. Sure, he was being way too blunt but the truth hurts, and she should be able to take it after all these years. He still couldn't understand this girl after so many years, not like he wanted to. He didn't like her enough to want to try.
Hunter frowned as he opened his mouth to respond. But he couldn't due to the interruption from inside. His father, Morvan Larmos, had arrived at the scene. He was the one Lyra was here to see. Seeing that the man had arrived, Hunter shut his mouth. He knew any words against Lyra would not put him in a favourable position with his father. His father liked Lyra a lot.
Lyra seeing the old man arrive, smiled. " Father Morvan", she greeted. The man smiled. The man, named Morvan, was quite old. He had some strands of grey hair on his pale black hair and wrinkles on his skin. But he stood upright. One could tell from his build right now that he was a very handsome and muscular fellow in his youth. It was only logical seeing as he gave birth to such a guy as his son.
Hunter stepped aside for Morvan. He bowed his head as he greeted, " Father". Morvan nodded and looked at Lyra and smiled wholeheartedly. Lyra smiled back as she hugged the man. The man laughed as he invited her inside.
When Lyra went in, Morvan didn't follow. Instead, he stopped at Hunter's side and whispered, " I'll talk to you, later". Hunter frowned. Morvan didn't say anything else as he followed Lyra inside and soon after, Hunter went in as well.
Inside, Lyra and Morvan sat in an opposite position. Morvan had asked Hunter to fill the white teacups on the brown round coffee table with tea, thus leading to Hunter pouring Lyra a cup of tea. Lyra smiled as she took the cup of tea and placed it on her lips. She didn't thank Hunter but simply took a sip and said, " The tea's very delicious. Seems like it was made from...Yerin leaves?"
Morvan laughed. " Your taste is still as sharp as ever, just like your mother's". At the mention of her mother, Lyra's eyes dimmed as she smiled. There was sadness in her eyes as she thought of her mother. She hadn't seen her in years and as inhumane as it sounded, she was beginning to forget her mother. Her face, it was nothing but a blur in Lyra's memory.
The only memory she had of her mother was her gruesome death. Recalling the face of her mother as she burned but was still smiling comfortingly at her, the smile on Lyra's face faltered. She missed her dearly. But she could do nothing about it.
Morvan, noticing Lyra's expression, chuckled. He smiled as he said, " We all miss her, kiddo. But we have to bear with it. Your mother was a good woman and that's all you have to know. She sacrificed herself for your safety and happiness. So, don't let her down by feeling sad and endangering yourself. It won't help you positively in anyway".
Lyra nodded. Her mother was indeed a good woman. She was kind, selfless and helpful. The only mistake she made was trusting people too much. Sh had trusted people blindly and that led to her death. If only her mother didn't put her trust in such people, she would still be alive by now. She wouldn't be alone now. She sighed.
But she shouldn't be thinking about this now. She came here for a purpose. And to make sure that her mother's sacrifice wasn't in vain, she had to achieve all her purposes. Lyra put down her teacup as she schooled her expression.
She looked at Morvan as she said, " Father Morvan, I thank you for your praise, on behalf of my mother and I of course. But I came here for something else, something odd".
Morvan frowned. " Something odd?" Lyra nodded. Morvan seeing Lyra's seriousness also dropped his teacup as he leaned forward. " What is it, dear? Tell me".
Lyra nodded and began explaining, " I'll get straight to the point, Father. Earlier today I encountered some blue elves...". Father Morvan raised a brow. Sensing that there was more to it, he didn't ask about the blue elves.
Lyra continued by saying, "I find it odd because I encountered these elves in the Elven Glades. If I remember correctly, the Elven Glades isn't a place for blue elves right?". Morvan frowned. Indeed, the Elven Glades wasn't a place for blue elves. It was a witch territory, more like an abandoned one as witches hardly go there anymore.
But why did blue elves suddenly appear in the Glades? Morvan answered Lyra honestly, " Indeed. Blue elves are corrupted elves who are vile and run around with murderous intent. Although they kill mindlessly, they seem to have minds. They know where and where not to go, the territories that are and are not to be messed with. But now that they were found in the Glades which is an abandoned witch territory, could it be that they are... expanding zones?"
Lyra shook her head as she said, " I would have thought so if the were there without a purpose. But this time, they had a target. A boy, he is a Tenorian. The elves were attacking him. They even bit him. It seems they had the intention of killing him but ran when I appeared at the scene". Morvan was perplexed. Killing was a normal thing for the blue elves. But why the boy? They clearly had a target which was clearly the boy. When elves killed, they killed anyone seen, which made them seem mindless. But they ran when they saw Lyra. That only proves his theory of them having minds to be right.
They might have minds but not fully sane ones. Morvan rubbed his chin as he thought hard, " If the elves indeed had a target as you have said, that could mean two things. One is the boy must have something threatening to the elves, thereby leading to them seeing him as a threat to the pack. The latter option is not that different from the first except, the elves were ordered".
Lyra seemed surprised at his reasoning as she asked, " Ordered?" Morvan nodded. He stopped rubbing his chin and stared deep into Lyra's eyes. " The fact that the elves ran when they saw you means they know who you are and what they are capable of. This means they understand that they stand no chance against you in combat. But based on the understanding of blue elves over the years, they kill regardless of the rank of their opponent. All they feel is bloodlust. But they ran away from you, even when they saw that you are a living being, they ran".
" It would only make sense that they had a target that they were ordered to kill. And seeing as you had arrived, they ran because of two reasons, one was because that had fulfilled their target of killing the boy by the fatal bite if a blur elf. Second, was because they sensed you were superior in power and they would probably die in your hands. They couldn't die yet when they haven't reported back to their superior about the situation. So, therefore they ran".
Lyra immediately understood everything from Morvan's explanation . Those elves were working for someone. And that person's target was Luc. The person probably knew about Luc's abilities and he senses Luc would become a threat if he stayed alive. So, he sent his elves to get rid of the big while he was still in the discovering stage.
But with this explanation came another question.Luc said hardly anyone in Tenoria k ew about his ability. And even if they knew, it wasn't threatening at this stage and would only seem like a unique ability of his sight. But this person knew Luc had this ability and knew thE full extent of his ability.
That only made her guess even more correct. But she needed more proof. But she didn't tell Morvan about anything about Luc's abilities. She couldn't trust anyone blindly at the moment. If Luc was really what she thought he was, then no one was as they seemed.
.....
Hunter heard part of their discussion. Though he had gone to the backyard to check in the meat he was cooking , he had come back out when he was done just in time to to hear the talk about the blue elves.
But if blue elves were in the Glades, didn't that mean he and his father were in danger with their current location? As usual, Lyra only brought more problems. He clicked his tongue at this thought
