Kael stepped closer, his eyes locked on hers. The air between them felt thick, charged.
"You're dangerous," he said, his voice low, laced with tension.
Lyra smirked, tilting her head. "And you're not?"
His lips twitched with a hint of amusement, but the intensity in his gaze never wavered. "Not like you."
She took a slow step forward, closing the distance between them. "And yet, you can't seem to stay away."
His breath caught in his throat, his pulse racing. "You make it hard to resist."
Lyra's eyes darkened. "Is that so?"
Kael's fingers brushed her cheek, his touch barely there but enough to make her shiver. "It's the truth."
She leaned in, her lips barely grazing his ear. "Then don't resist."
His body reacted before his mind had the chance to catch up. He grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer, their lips crashing together in a fiery kiss. Her taste, sweet and dangerous, flooded his senses, and for a moment, he forgot everything—his duty, his pride, and the consequences.
Lyra didn't hesitate. Her hands slid under his shirt, fingers tracing the lines of muscle beneath. She pulled him closer, deepening the kiss, urging him to give in.
Kael's hands found the curve of her waist, tugging her body flush against his. He could feel the heat of her, the softness of her skin, and the undeniable pull between them.
"You're playing with fire," he growled against her lips.
"I know," she breathed, her fingers threading through his hair, tugging him closer. "And I don't care."
Their lips met again, desperate now, hungry for more. His hands roamed down her back, pulling her against him as their bodies collided with an urgency that felt like it had been building for years.
Lyra gasped as Kael's mouth trailed down her neck, his breath hot against her skin. She tilted her head back, giving him more access, her hands moving to his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart under her touch.
"Tell me you want this," he demanded, his voice husky.
She arched against him, her body responding to the unspoken command. "I want this, Kael. Don't stop."
That was all he needed. He lifted her effortlessly, placing her on the table beside them. His body followed hers, never breaking the contact, never allowing a moment for hesitation.
The world outside didn't exist anymore. All that mattered was the heat, the hunger, and the pull between them that neither could deny.
With every touch, every kiss, Kael knew he was losing himself to her. And he didn't care.
