Chapter 1: The New House
Author : Quratulain
In a peaceful city, there lived a girl named Eliza. She was happy there — her heart was full, and her world made sense. But one day, her father got transferred to a different country — a faraway place called Cresthill Bay.
The news broke her heart. She didn't want to leave. She didn't want to say goodbye to her friends, her streets, her little world. But fate had something else written for her — someone new was meant to enter her life. A stranger, who would bring with them a story both unexpected and beautiful.
A few days later, during the quiet hours of dusk, Eliza and her family left their old home behind. Two days later, they reached their new house in Cresthill Bay. Everything felt different.
Eliza quietly walked to her bedroom, hoping to find a bit of peace. And she did. There was a window next to her study table, and just across the street stood another building. In one of its windows, someone was sitting — writing.
The breeze played with his hair as the curtains swayed gently around him. Eliza couldn't see him clearly, but something about that moment made her pause.
Just then, her mom called from the kitchen:
Mom: "Eliza, come eat!"
Eliza quickly shut the window and went to the dining table. But when she came back and peeked outside again, the boy was gone. The window was empty.
She sighed and went to sleep.
The next morning, she woke up early for school — but nothing there felt exciting. It was just... empty. Later that day, she came home and began writing poetry in her diary — her way of healing.
That evening, when she looked out again, he was there. The same window. This time, Eliza caught a glimpse of his face as he opened the window slowly. Just for a moment — but enough for
her heart to pause.
