Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 – The Forgotten Blade

---

While the world burned with the clash of Serian the Hero and Malveth the Demon Lord, a storm was brewing in the cracks of society.

Deep beneath the capital, in the sewers and shadowed ruins—where nobles never dared step and guilds turned blind eyes—a figure walked in silence.

Kael, veiled by magic, cloaked in plain black, moved through the filth like a ghost.

He wasn't searching for warriors.

He was searching for monsters.

---

He found the first one in a cage.

A girl with jagged scars, fangs too sharp for a human, and eyes like broken stars. She'd been discarded by her village, labeled a cursed child. Now, she fought rats for food and hissed at anyone who came close.

Kael stepped in front of her cage and offered no food.

Just one question.

> "Do you want to burn the world that burned you?"

She didn't speak. But the way her eyes lit up…

That was enough.

---

The second was a man known only as Gravehand. A former paladin who'd lost faith and limbs, now living as a drunk in a corpse pit. Kael didn't offer him salvation.

He offered revenge on the god who turned his back on him.

Gravehand joined without asking a second question.

---

And so, Kael moved like a phantom—gathering broken blades, forgotten talents, and cursed bloodlines that both Serian and Malveth would never accept.

Not light.

Not dark.

Something else entirely.

Meanwhile…

Serian was celebrated in the western cities, statues being built in his honor.

Malveth's name echoed like death in the east, kings begging for alliances to stop him.

And in the center of it all… the real Kael waited.

A god in disguise.

Not yet ready to reveal his hand.

But when he did—there would be no light left bright enough, and no shadow deep enough to hide from him.
