Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Royal Brain

"Definitely."

Chen Luo cupped his hands in farewell.

Putting aside their identities as bandits, Cai, the寨 head, was actually a good person—loyal and true to his word, a good brother. It's just that his strength was a bit lacking.

After parting ways with the group from the Tiger Mountain Band, Chen Luo and his uncle settled down in the nearby Fan family village.

This village was the closest to Salt Lake County.

After arriving, the uncle and nephew rented a secluded house from the local village elder, temporarily settling down there.

"Once the heat dies down, we should go back to the village. With such a big incident happening in Qingya County, Big Brother and the others must be worried," Uncle Chen said as he prepared some food and brought it over to the table.

When he mentioned Big Brother, he was referring to Chen Luo's parents.

Life in this world was tough even in the villages. The villagers spent the whole year toiling in the fields, yet they often couldn't even afford a full meal. Chen Luo's father, unable to bear it any longer, had no choice but to send his son to the city to seek refuge with Uncle Chen.

In the past, Uncle Chen had been the most accomplished person in their Chen family village.

Though he was just a grave digger, he was still someone who ate from the government's table.

"It's about time to go back," Chen Luo nodded in agreement.

After a simple meal with his uncle, Chen Luo and his uncle went to their respective rooms to rest.

The houses in the village were nothing like those in the county town; the most noticeable feature was their size. The house that the uncle and nephew rented was a large courtyard with four main doors, and the rooms inside were quite spacious.

Sitting in his room, Chen Luo focused his attention on calling upon the royal brain.

As he concentrated his thoughts, his consciousness once again shifted to a third-person perspective. The new royal brain took over his perception, and it felt as if his entire being had been rebooted. Though the memories were the same, the sensation of recalling them was now incredibly vivid — he could even remember clearly the time he wet the bed as a child.

'The Black Tiger Fist shouldn't be practiced this way.'

After recalling the training method for the Black Tiger Fist, such a thought suddenly emerged in his mind.

The martial arts techniques optimized by over a hundred martial artists' brains now appeared riddled with flaws. Not only were there numerous incorrect methods of exerting force, but there was also a disharmony in the application of power. Although it was only a brief moment, when Chen Luo eventually mastered the Black Tiger Fist at a later stage, this slight "disharmony" would be magnified infinitely. If he were to face a higher-level expert, this flaw would become the very point that could cost him his life.

"Weak in the mental aspect, and agility is somewhat lacking. However, it might be useful to borrow from Wei Gonggong's brain, as he has a lot of experience with speed cultivation."

The royal brain continuously analyzed the current abilities, optimizing and reorganizing them.

Soon, it helped Chen Luo establish a completely new direction.

The strength was still the same strength, and the martial arts remained the same set of techniques. But his combat power had nearly doubled out of nowhere!

When the royal brain withdrew, feeling exhausted, Chen Luo suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of fatigue, a sensation that was hard to put into words. So intense was the exhaustion that he forgot all about continuing his practice, collapsing onto the bed and falling asleep instantly.

A night passed.

When Chen Luo woke up, he felt refreshed and full of energy. All the lingering internal injuries from his previous battles with Wei Gonggong and others in Qingya County had healed. His internal energy became more vibrant, and his mind was exceptionally clear. The bottleneck he had encountered while learning the Black Tiger Fist was now completely understood.

"This royal brain... does it have some kind of special enhancement?"

Chen Luo paused for a moment, slightly stunned.

It was the same type of brain, so why was there such a huge difference between the royal brain and the others? Could there be something inside that he couldn't see?

For example... a spiritual root!
