**[Welcome to the system interface! You can check your attribute panel or open your newbie gift pack.]**
Roy froze for a moment before opening his attribute panel.
**[Roy Black]**
**Species:** Human
**Strength:** 13 (The standard for an adult is 10)
**Agility:** 12
**Constitution:** 15
**Memory:** 9
**Spirit:** 8
**Willpower:** 11
Not bad. His physical attributes were quite decent, especially his constitution, which was 50% higher than the standard adult's. Well, it made sense—he *was* the star quarterback of the football team, after all.
His memory and spirit, though… could use some work.
**[Special character detected: Needy Lesnicki. You can extract Fate Power to receive rewards!]**
"System, what exactly is Fate Power?"
**[It is the power possessed by characters with unique stories. Their fates are often filled with twists and turns.]**
Got it. Basically, it's the luck that main characters in movies and games tend to have.
"So, how do I extract it?"
**[You have two options: conquer the person with Fate Power and continuously extract from them, or kill them to receive a one-time reward. No matter which method you choose, your first successful extraction comes with an additional bonus.]**
So, one option was *sustainable exploitation*, and the other was *unsustainable exploitation*.
Roy glanced at Needy, who looked exactly like Amanda Seyfried. He decided to go with sustainable exploitation.
Don't ask why. Let's just say Roy had a kind heart.
"System, open my newbie gift pack!"
**[Newbie gift pack opened!]**
**[Acquired: Mike Tyson's boxing techniques]**
**[Acquired: Bob Munden's shooting skills]**
**[Acquired: Grigori Rasputin's charisma]**
Mike Tyson? No surprises there. The whole country knew the saying about Tyson switching to billiards.
But who were the other two?
The last name was ridiculously long. Sounded Russian.
Just as Roy was about to ask the system for more details, he suddenly felt something strange *down there*.
What the hell? Did those bastards spike his drink?
Needy, watching Roy's shifting expressions, assumed he hadn't meant it when he said he was feeling better.
"Roy, if you're really feeling down, you can talk to me about it!"
She mustered up her courage and scooted closer. Normally, she was a shy girl, but she must've had a few drinks tonight, making her unexpectedly bold.
Roy looked at Needy and sifted through the original owner's memories.
Needy was actually Jennifer's best friend. One was the dazzling cheerleading captain, the other an ordinary, bookish girl. Strangely enough, though, they were incredibly close.
And it wasn't just talk—Needy had *definitely* been harboring a crush on him.
Made sense. He was the football team's star quarterback, a true campus heartthrob. Nearly every girl in school had dreamed about him.
Jennifer had rejected his confession. Needy probably had something to do with that. Not that Needy herself knew it.
High school drama. Instead of focusing on their studies, these kids were busy playing love triangles.
If Roy had to choose? Easy—he'd take both. Why waste time thinking about it?
Sensing Roy's gaze, Needy's face turned even redder.
"R-Roy, why are you looking at me like that?"
From a certain perspective, Needy was the original Roy's personal fangirl. Conquering her should be a piece of cake.
"Needy, I just realized… you're actually really beautiful."
Her heart pounded wildly. Her entire face turned the color of a ripe tomato.
"R-Roy, are you drunk? You're talking nonsense!"
"No, Needy, I'm completely sober."
Roy took her hand and moved closer.
Needy, naturally introverted and shy, was now completely overwhelmed. She felt like a kettle on the verge of boiling over.
"R-Roy, this… this isn't right… Actually, Jennifer talked to me about you. She *does* have feelings for you, she's just unsure about it!"
Roy raised an eyebrow. Well, that was unexpected. No wonder Needy had stayed behind to comfort him.
She probably didn't want him and Jennifer to have any misunderstandings.
If Jennifer rejected him because she was considering Needy's feelings, then these two really weren't fake friends. Their bond was strong.
"Needy, when it's just the two of us, I don't want to hear her name. Do you understand?"
He placed her hand against his chest. Needy panicked, trying to pull away, but there was no way she could break free from a football quarterback's grip.
She felt as if electricity was coursing through her body, making her limbs go numb.
"R-Roy, stop… I-I feel weird…"
"Needy, don't be scared. Just follow your true feelings. Do you like me? Even a little?"
Roy leaned in closer. Needy, drowning in his presence, felt dizzy and tongue-tied.
"No… We shouldn't… Jennifer would be hurt…"
Roy's nose brushed against hers. They were *this* close to kissing.
Then, suddenly—
*RING RING RING!*
The phone rang, snapping Needy out of her daze.
Like a startled rabbit, she leapt off the couch, completely out of Roy's grasp.
"Roy, this isn't right!"
Roy cursed whoever was calling. If not for them, he would've sealed the deal.
"Needy, don't overthink it. I'll answer the phone."
He walked over and picked up the receiver.
"Hello, this is the Black residence."
A voice on the other end, deliberately low and raspy, responded.
"Hey there, Roy Black. Enjoying the party?"
Roy instantly knew the caller was disguising their voice.
"Who the hell are you? Stop playing games."
"Heh heh heh. Why don't you take a guess?"
Roy wasn't in the mood for a guessing game. He had more important things to do—like dealing with Needy. Without hesitation, he hung up.
"Who was it?" Needy asked.
"Just a prank call. Nothing to worry about."
He returned to the couch, but Needy had sobered up. She kept her distance, avoiding his gaze.
Well, that was that. No chance of making a move tonight. Roy cursed the caller again—if not for them, he might've already unlocked a system reward.
Since things weren't going his way, he decided to be a gentleman. No need to let Needy's opinion of him drop.
"Needy, it's late. Let me walk you home."
"Thank you, Roy."
Just as they stood up—
*RING RING RING!*
The phone rang again.
