Prom was around the corner, and Dimitri, being the loner he is, didn't ask out anyone or even think of going, unlike Peter, who asked out Sarah right after hearing that it was time. Peter tried to get Dimitri to ask out so many different girls, but Dimitri turned down the idea. Secretly, Dimitri has been wanting to take Lilly to prom so badly, but he knew one of the more popular guys already asked her out.
But today he heard her reject the most popular kid in school, dimtri was so happy to hear her say no, like he'd just won the lottery, the prize being her. Dimitri finally got the courage to ask her out, probably from being so happy. So he took a deep breath, and walked up to her, his hands clammy and shaky, his breath ragged "H-hey lills" he started, his voice back to sounding like a boy who's going through puberty, she smiled and turned to him "Hey Dimi, what's up?" she said with that beautiful smile and eyes shining like 2 brown topaz gems, dimitri's ears flushed a bit, gulping with slight sweat on his forehead, lilly tilted her head slightly, oh he loved when she did that, but he needed to get this done, or he'd regret this forever, so with a deep breath, he spoke shyly "um...are you going to prom?", lilly smiled wider "if this is your way to asking me out, yes, I want to, I actually been waiting for you to ask, lame ass jim tried to ask me out but he's an ass, so wanna go?" lilly said casually, which was surprising how easy she agreed, I mean all boys in this school wanted her, so it probably is natural to accept a date, but to him it was everything, and to her too, she hid how happy she was, "so you waited for me huh?" dimitri teased with a grin, "yea dummy, you're my friend and i trust you more than touchy jimmy, ugh even his name sounds like a perv, ew, btw peter asked sarah out, its funny how those two used to hate each other so bad but now they're shy like middle schoolers around their first crush, honestly its cute" lilly playfully said, dimitri chuckled "yea...oh i almost forgot, um...do you want me to pick you up or..." dimitri asked, hoping lilly more about this date stuff than him "yea that sounds good, around 7:30?" lilly answered, which dimitri responded with a nod "cool, i guess I'll see you then" dimitri added, before they both parted ways.
A few weeks pass, and it was prom night, dimtri spent all morning learning how to tie a tie, and he finally got it, he felt proud, but a part of him felt sad he didn't have anyone teaching him, the only things that saw him do it was his funko pops and other figures and posters, he felt hurt that this day that should have a nagging mom, a dad helping him tie his tie, a younger sibling that was annoyed by the whole thing, family photos, being late because mom wanted to take more pics, or wanted to make sure his hair was right, but all he got was the loud noise of loneliness, and damn it was too noisy, it got too loud that he went over to sarah's house and Mrs. miller knew he felt like this so she asked her husband to help out, Mr. miller sighed, and went over to dimitri, helping him with everything, giving advice too, while carl, sarah's younger brother was annoyed that the living room was getting too loud, and he couldn't play video games with the loud noise, dimitri chuckled when he saw that, ruffling carl's hair "you know that game is rated R, right?" dimtri teased, "yea yea yea" carl mumbled, Mr. miller laughed, fixing dimitri's tie for him, patting his shoulder, feeling like a proud father, and dimitri sensed that, feeling a little better, it wasn't so depressing here, it was.....calm. Soon he snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Sarah call out for him, telling him that he was going to be late. Dimitri gasped, running to the front door, before he was stopped by Mr. Miller "take this, and don't tell carl I gave you the keys okay son?" Mr. Miller whispered while handing Dimtri car keys, "Don't want to walk your date to prom now do ya?" Mr, miller teased, dimitri teared up a little, but quickly wiped them away, thanking Mr. Miller before walking out of the apartment, and heading into the car, driving to Lilly's house.
Lilly waiting for Dimtri by the door, wearing a beautiful blue dress, just like his eyes, her hair like chocolate being poured, when Dimitri saw her he stood for a while, taking it all in, he felt like he was floating, "is this what being high feels like?" he thought to himself before he saw Lilly walk up to him, chucking "What? never saw a girl in a dress before?" Lilly bantered while Dimitri blushed, "n-no! it's just too warm in this suit dumbass!" *he replied with a flustered tone. Lily laughed, walking up to the passenger door, dimtri quickly opened the door for her, and she raised a brow, smirking "What a gentlemen" she spoke playfully, he chuckled softly, before going into the driver's side, turning the car and driving to prom.
The gym was filled with teenagers, staff, food, and colorful lights,Peterr and Sarah dancing goofy-like, other students felt a bit weirded out by them, but they didn't care, hell they danced weirder when someone stared. Lilly and Dimitri walked in, and a popular jock was standing by the punch, he smirked at Lilly, looking her up and down, which made Dimitri feel inferior, "Hope she doesn't go over" Dimitri thought to himself but all that Lilly could think of was how gorgeous Dimitri's blue eyes looked under the colorful prom night lights, and how adorable he looked, to her she saw him as a puppy, an adorable golden retriever but with blue eyes puppy, "come on, lets dance but not near those 2" Lilly spoke, grabbing Dimitri's hand, guiding him to the dance floor, Dimitri'ss heart stopped when she held his hand, he felt like his legs were made with silly puddy, but soon they were slow dancing, without a care in the world.
The night was like any movie, quiet and relaxing, the 4 headed to the park to rest and talk after prom, each of em holding onto their date, for a moment things were peaceful....
