Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Uchiha Reina—No More Regrets

The first day of Ninja Academy was finally over and all students went back to their homes, including Seimei and Reina.

However, as Reina was on her way home, she was a bit dazed.

Clearly, her mind was swirling with numerous thoughts, as if she couldn't figure out something.

Minutes passed by and she quickly reached the Uchiha compound. She stopped and surveyed the bustling Uchiha clan.

Young kids were running around with bright, happy smiles. Many Uchiha clansmen who could no longer work as Shinobi either managed shops in the Uchiha district, spent time with their relatives or guided young Shinobi.

The clansmen who didn't have enough talent to become Shinobi also lived safely with their loved ones. They no longer had to go to the front lines and risk their lives needlessly.

They could start a business or work in the existing shops to earn a decent wage and settle down to live a fulfilling life.

Witnessing all this brought a faint smile to Uchiha Reina's lips.

It was a light, gentle yet melancholic smile—a smile that old people would often show when reminiscing about their long lives.

By all means, a 7-year-old kid with a happy, fulfilling family like Uchiha Reina should never have such an expression on her face.

However, she didn't waste too much time.

She looked around a bit and then continued walking toward her home.

After a while, she arrived at her home, opened the door, entered, and said, "I'm home."

"Welcome back, my dear."

A warm and mature voice of a lady greeted her.

Reina smiled softly and made her way to the kitchen.

There, she saw a woman in her late twenties preparing dishes.

"What's on today's menu, Mom?" Reina asked with a little curiosity.

Yes. This woman was Uchiha Reina's mother, Uchiha Aiko.

Aiko turned around and said with a smile, "Oh! It's your favorite dish."

"By the way, how was the first day of the Academy, dear?"

Reina's eyes sparkled a little when she heard about her favorite dish, but she quickly composed herself.

"It was fine. We got Jonin as our new teacher. You know, from the Kamishiro clan."

"We introduced ourselves and the teacher just conducted a few practical drills to see our fitness and skill levels."

"The real training will probably start pretty soon."

Aiko kept listening to her daughter's school day while working in the kitchen.

Suddenly she felt she was being hugged.

Aiko looked back and saw her daughter hugging her tightly.

She thought her daughter was probably uncomfortable in her new classroom environment.

'Even though she always acts mature, she's still a kid,' thought Uchiha Aiko as she turned around and hugged Reina back.

"Shinobi training is tough. But don't you want to become the best Kunoichi of this world?"

"That place will help you become a real Elite. You can also forge new bonds, make new friends, and learn many interesting things."

"So, don't worry. Everything will be fine. There's nothing to fear."

Uchiha Aiko kept patting her daughter's back gently as she encouraged her.

Uchiha Reina didn't say anything—only nodded her head slightly in her mother's embrace.

Reina quietly returned to her bedroom after he finished eating and slowly locked the door from the inside.

Then she slowly exhaled, and her Sharingan activated. Her blood-red eyes, with two rotating tomoe, shone with a determined glint.

"No more regrets."

She murmured in a low voice.

This 7-year-old Uchiha Reina has a secret that she never shared with anyone.

Not even with her parents.

She is a regressor.

She was Uchiha Reina, a being who was just a few steps away from becoming a True Transcendent.

Her incredible prowess and combat abilities made her feared throughout multiple galaxies.

Yes, galaxies.

Countless advanced and supernatural civilizations feared her.

That included the extremely notorious Otsutsuki Clan.

Such power would make anyone born into a world filled with superpowers and cruelty brimming with confidence, pride, and happiness.

However, she could hardly describe her life as a happy and proud one.

Even with all this power, she was always a bit too late to protect her friends, comrades, and loved ones.

Born of an extremely talented Uchiha father and a mother from the Senju clan who also had Uzumaki blood, her potential was naturally off the charts.

She had the Sharingan of Uchiha, a Uzumaki's chakra reserves, and a Senju's boundless vitality.

The combination of these powerful bloodlines was so overpowered that she overcame the bloodline dilution problem of the Uchiha clan and directly awakened Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan once her three-tomoe Sharingan evolved.

Such talent naturally bred arrogance in her.

All her life, she only relied on her talent and rarely worked too hard to develop her abilities.

After all, she will live for hundreds of years and her potential will unravel eventually.

Or at least, that's what she thought.

Her happy and carefree life came crashing down when the Otsutsuki Law Enforcement Teams attacked her planet in the Konoha Year 096.

Of course, other Otsutsuki patrol teams also attacked the continent in the middle, including figures like Momoshiki, Urashiki, and Kinshiki.

Sure, they were powerful. Many of them were even as powerful as a Super Kage-level Shinobi, just a step away from the Sage of Six Paths level of power.

But the Shinobi of this world still repelled them.

However, the Otsutsuki Law Enforcement Teams were on an entirely different level.

No one could stop them.

Nations were destroyed. Shinobi villages were obliterated. The ordinary citizens of her world were transformed into nourishment to sustain the Divine Tree and Chakra Fruits for several cycles.

Very few were able to escape the tragedy due to their unique power.

Uchiha Reina was one among those very few survivors.

At the moment of crisis, she unlocked Rinnegan and used its innate space-time ocular technique to escape to another planet along with a few more lucky survivors.

She survived but none of her family members did.

Her father was blasted apart. Her mother's head was severed. None of her friends or close comrades survived the decade-long battle against the Otsutsuki Enforcement Team.

Her once-happy life became empty in the blink of an eye.

For a few years, she spiraled into deep self-loathing.

If she trained hard from the beginning, maybe she could have resisted them.

If she hadn't wasted her talent and unlocked its full potential, her friends and family wouldn't have died.

If only she trained harder and unlocked Rinnegan earlier, she could have saved her loved ones and her village.

All of them could have avoided the conflict and traveled to a safe planet to rebuild their life.

But regret has no medicine.

So, she sought revenge.

She trained hard. She trained herself to the brink of death.

And she eventually surpassed her limits. She broke through the Sage of Six Paths level of power, ignited her divine spark, and became a true galactic powerhouse.

She protected the people she rescued from her home planet for hundreds of years.

Uchiha Reina even found many other survivors who successfully escaped the tragedy and brought them to the new peaceful world she found.

And then she went to her home planet to kill the people who destroyed her home.

She even traveled to the Otsutsuki clan's home planet, found the true culprits, and killed them.

But even that couldn't soothe her empty heart.

The only thing she could cling to was her own strength, so she always immersed herself in crueler, harsher training.

Although she eventually found a way to become True Transcendent—beings who couldn't die even if they wanted to, she didn't have the courage to take the final step.

Her heart had already become hollow.

She had no goals, no friends, nothing more to live for.

If she became a Transcendent, she couldn't only suffer for an eternity in loneliness.

Something she didn't want. So, she took her own life to end her miserable wandering.

But who would have thought that she would end up regressing back to the time when she was just one year old?

At first, she was confused.

Didn't she die? Then why could she still see her old Uchiha clan house?

Why could she still see her parents smiling at her?

She wondered if she was dreaming about her deepest desires just before her death.

But she quickly realized that she wasn't dreaming.

She really regressed back to her childhood.

She could see her mom and dad again.

She could see her beloved Konoha again.

And this time, she wouldn't let those alien bastards destroy her home again.

She wouldn't let her loved ones die again.

Therefore, as soon as she became capable of exercising and refining chakra, she invested most of her time into training and honing her skills.

Except for resting while eating, sleeping, and spending time with her family, she spent all her time growing stronger.

She had no choice.

Her future enemies are truly a bunch of monsters, wielding one strange technique after another!

Without a doubt, all her training paid off.

At the Age of 7, she was already as strong as an Elite Chunin.

Her chakra reserves had already equaled to, if not surpassed, many civilian Jonin.

She was steadily building her strength.

However, today, at the school, something special happened.

She found a cute, 7-year-old, white-haired, blue-eyed Senju kid. It was interesting to see him becoming nervous as he met her eyes.

But It wasn't his cute face or funny behavior that attracted her attention.

No!

It was his vast reserve of chakra. He was only 7 this year, and yet his chakra reserves were astounding. It even surpassed her own chakra reserves by a slight margin.

Plus, he possessed Tenseigan.

Others might not recognize this special eye, but she did.

However, the strangest of them all was that she didn't remember someone like him in her previous life before the regression.

Did her memory become hazy after 600 years or she simply didn't pay attention to someone with such immense potential before?

Or was it the butterfly effect of her regression that some people talked about in the novels on one of the planets she traveled to before her regression?

"Meh…who cares?"

She was sure that if he trained hard enough, he could easily break through the limit of the Sage of Six Paths level of power within 50 or 60 years.

Wasn't that simply gaining a capable lackey…*cough*...she meant comrade to share her burden and smash those alien bastards' faces?

Yes.

She had to grab him and make him train hard like there's no tomorrow!

Such talent. Such looks.

It would be a huge loss for humanity to not make this guy ignite his divine spark!

He clearly didn't train hard in her past life and must have slacked off.

What a waste!

For the sake of her, his, and everyone's homeworld, she must commit child abuse!

There is no other choice.

With that, she made up her mind and walked towards the training ground to polish her skills further.

"I won't make the same mistakes anymore,"

"I must become strong and gather powerful allies."

"That's the only way to save this planet and my home."

"This time, I will control my own destiny."

"I will no longer live a life full of regrets"

"Not anymore!"
