Cherreads

Chapter 8 - My Mom is Calling Me Home

The prices at this seafood hotel were really high. The minimum consumption for a couple's private room was $400. However, the delicious food here was definitely worth the price, especially with the unique visual experience. The hotel's special feature was to project the kitchen surveillance video into the private rooms, allowing customers to watch the entire cooking process of the food. All ingredients would be shown in front of the camera to ensure they were fresh and live seafood.

Take that huge conch, for example. It was directly smashed with a hammer, and the meat inside was still wriggling. The scene was really shocking. The conch meat was sliced and stir - fried with scallions in the pot. When it was served on the table, it was full of fragrance. The conch meat was firm, chewy, smooth, and extremely delicious. It was springy and chewy in the mouth, and both of them couldn't stop praising it. Seafood tastes worlds apart when it's alive and when it's dead.

When the king crab was served, it was a large, bright - red basin, and Aaron was stunned. He had always heard of the king crab, but when it was really in front of him, he realized its huge size. The meat of each crab leg was scraped clean and drizzled with crab roe. The combination of red and yellow made people's appetites increase at the sight. One bite was full of tender and fragrant crab meat, with a unique umami flavor. It seemed that a little salted egg yolk was added, leaving a bit of a granular feeling on the tongue. It was not only delicious but also in large quantities. One person couldn't finish it at all.

Sophia, on the other hand, had a small appetite. She only took a few bites of each dish and then put down her chopsticks. Aaron was left to "battle" alone. He was really troubled. Either he couldn't afford to eat or he was stuffed. Aaron ordered a bottle of Penfolds red wine, which cost $1000. Originally, he wanted to order a Lafite worth over $20,000, but he was afraid that showing off too much would make Sophia dislike him, so he chose a relatively cheaper one.

The waiter brought the red wine, first showed the label and the bottle, then opened it in front of them, poured a small glass for Aaron, and motioned for him to taste the flavor. Aaron thought the taste of this red wine was not as good as beer, but on the surface, he still nodded slightly in approval and pretended to say it was okay. Then the waiter filled their goblets.

Sophia didn't want to drink at first. After all, it's easy for girls to be taken advantage of when they drink. But seeing that Aaron had ordered such an expensive wine, she couldn't resist clinking glasses with him twice. After the meal, Sophia's eyes were already a bit hazy, and her cheeks were flushed, making her look even more charming.

Walking out of the restaurant, Aaron saw that her steps were a bit unsteady and wanted to put his arm around her. Unexpectedly, she hugged his arm instead, and then he felt the girl take the initiative to rest her head on his shoulder. Aaron's mind immediately started to wander, and he became completely restless.

On the city's night, the neon lights were flickering, reflecting on Sophia's fair skin, adding a bit more charm. The refreshing breeze blew through her skirt, adding a touch of alluring spring color to the night. Aaron lowered his head and said softly, "Sophia, I'll book a room for you to rest."

This sound seemed to wake up the sleeping beauty. Sophia regained a bit of clarity, the haziness in her eyes gradually dissipated, and a trace of vigilance flashed between her brows. In fact, her drinking capacity was not bad. Half a bottle of red wine just made her blush a little, and it didn't really affect her. She knew very well that all the things she wanted to buy in the afternoon had been bought, and at night, it was the time when a girl might have to pay the "price." But before figuring out Aaron's background, she didn't want to give herself up so quickly, so she planned to pretend to be drunk and slip away.

Sophia looked up and pretended to say reluctantly, "I can't. My mom said I have to go home at night."

Aaron also knew that he had asked too eagerly and smiled to explain, "What are you thinking? I just meant to find a place to sit and sober up."

Sophia smiled, thinking that he must have seen through her little trick. "Are you sure it's just to sit?"

Aaron said seriously, "Sure!"

"You must be kidding me." Sophia gave him a flirtatious glance.

Aaron was so charmed by this glance that his mind was filled with some not - so - proper thoughts. He lowered his head and couldn't say a word for a while.

Seeing that he didn't say anything, Sophia thought that her refusal to his invitation had made him unhappy. It was necessary to take good care of a high - quality "fish" like Aaron.

She suggested, "Let's take a walk in the park across the street to digest food."

Aaron replied blankly.

The two walked along the winding stone path into the fresh park. On both sides were lush trees, and the leaves were gently swaying in the breeze. The air was filled with the faint fragrance of flowers and grass, making people feel relaxed and happy. But Aaron felt hotter and hotter as they walked. The dimly - lit environment was really easy to make people have improper thoughts. Two steps into the grass beside the road could avoid the weak light of the street lamps. And Sophia beside him was smiling, as if she was saying "come and take me," constantly testing his bottom line.

Finally, he couldn't hold back anymore. Without saying a word, he walked in front of Sophia, put his arms around her slender waist, and looked straight into her eyes. Seeing that her eyes were full of provocation and there was no sign of resistance, Aaron summoned up his courage, lowered his head, and kissed...

Just as he was about to kiss her cherry lips, a slender finger pressed against his pouting mouth. Who could stand being stopped at this critical moment? Aaron opened his mouth angrily and bit that annoying finger.

Sophia was startled. She didn't expect Aaron to be so "shameless." This made her panic, and her previous composed posture instantly collapsed.

"Ah, don't do this." Sophia tried to pull her finger out, but Aaron held her arm, and she couldn't move. Without room to struggle, she said shyly, "You're so annoying. Let go."

Only a sycophant would let go. Aaron was a "Wolf Warrior" now and wouldn't let go.

Sophia lowered her head, not daring to look at him. "If you keep this up, I'll shout that you're a pervert."

At this time, there were still quite a few people taking a walk in the park, and there were also many people jogging at night. Passing by Aaron, seeing the affectionate appearance of the two of them, they didn't think much of it. The park was a place for lovers after all. Hugging and cuddling were very common. But seeing how beautiful Sophia was and that she was with someone else, they felt a bit jealous in their hearts and secretly cursed this "couple" in their minds.

Aaron had a thick skin. He had to be thick - skinned when working as a food delivery guy in all kinds of weather. He gently bit Sophia's finger with his teeth and said vaguely, "So, are you still going to stop me?"

Seeing that he wouldn't give up, Sophia first smiled at him as if begging for mercy, and then suddenly stepped on Aaron's foot. Amid Aaron's cry of pain, she took the opportunity to pull out her finger, pushed Aaron away, and ran away, leaving behind a string of silver - bell - like laughter.

Aaron hugged his foot and hopped on one leg twice. After the pain subsided a bit, he immediately chased after her in big steps.

"You little vixen. You offended me and still want to run!"
