Without a doubt—yes.
Together with the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, he once defeated the Rocks Pirates, a crew that nearly ruled the world.
He chased the Pirate King across the Grand Line. In the future, he would defeat the legendary pirate Golden Lion, Shiki, alongside Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

Even Sengoku, Vice Admiral Tsuru, and others believed Garp could easily overpower the current Akainu.
But as Garp's legendary fist tore through the air toward Sakazuki…
Akainu didn't flinch.
Instead, he sneered and swung his own fist, magma boiling around it.

A torrent of molten lava burst forward, warping the air, crashing directly into Garp's Haki-infused punch.

The impact was catastrophic. A massive shockwave erupted outward, magma and force rippling through the Marine Headquarters, instantly reducing the conference room and nearby buildings to rubble.
Hundreds of Marines were blown away, buried in debris, screaming in confusion. Many thought they were under attack by a Yonko.
"W-What the hell was that!?"
Sengoku, Zeffar (Z), Aokiji, and the others remained unscathed, but their eyes widened as they looked toward the center of the destruction.
There, standing locked in a punch, were Garp and Akainu, neither budging even a single step.

Vice Admiral Tsuru, her eyes narrowing, said grimly:
"Garp... is injured."
"What!?"
"Impossible! How could Vice Admiral Garp be wounded... by Sakazuki!?"
But with a sweep of their Observation Haki, the truth became clear:
Akainu's uniform was torn, but he was unscathed.
Garp, on the other hand, had several patches of scorched skin where the magma had made contact. The air reeked of burnt flesh.

Garp pulled back his fist, grinning like a man half his age.
Akainu stood with a cold expression, but even he was stunned inside.
Under the effect of Daemon's Strength Enhancement Necklace, his power had more than doubled. Not a simple 1+1=2—his current power was like having tripled his past self.
And yet, even with all that, he had only managed to slightly injure Garp.

Halfway there, the Multiverse Chat Group lit up again.
Time in the chat group was strange—uniform while inside, but varying wildly between worlds when inactive.
To Daemon, only a day had passed since the broadcast.

And it seemed chaos had erupted there too...
