Chapter 18 - Chapter Eighteen: The One Who Waits

The message came at 2:47 AM.

No name. No trace.Just a private ping on a line only dead agents were supposed to know.

Jin stared at the glowing words:

"She's waiting. Alone. No tricks. No war."Coordinates: 48.8797° N, 2.3252° ETime: 9:00 AM. Don't be late."

He ran the coordinates.

Paris.

A quiet corner near an old district that had no cameras. No known surveillance. No recorded incidents.

Too clean. Too intentional.

He didn't tell his team.

He didn't trust anyone enough.

☠️ Meanwhile — Ren's Shadow

Kai Ren leaned back in his chair, staring at the incoming movement reports.

"Jin just submitted a clearance request," said one of his internal agents."Solo travel. No reason given."

"Destination?" Kai asked without looking.

"Paris. Specific coordinates. Quiet district. He's going alone."

Kai said nothing. His mask glinted faintly in the low light.

"Do we deploy Phantom scouts?"

Kai shook his head once.

"No. He's already surrounded."

"But—"

"Just track him. Stay invisible. I want eyes on the ground."

He stood and walked toward the gunmetal wall where his personal travel gear was kept.

He didn't take an army.

He didn't take his generals.

He took his silence—and slipped into the city behind Jin.

🌫️ Paris — 9:03 AM

The street was quiet.

A breeze swept dried leaves along the cobbled sidewalk. There were no cameras, no foot traffic, no noise—just the faint smell of coffee in the air.

Jin stood across the street from a café with no name. One door. Six chairs. A single umbrella casting a lazy shadow over an iron table.

And at that table…

A woman sat alone.

Slim figure. Legs crossed. One hand around a white coffee mug.

And a mask.

Black. Elegant. Smooth.

The same one from the Nyxara video.

Jin didn't move.

His heart was thudding like it remembered something he didn't.

He scanned the area. No visible backup. No comms.Just her.

Sitting. Calm.

Waiting.

He stepped across the street.

Every inch felt heavier. The air colder.Like the world itself was holding its breath.

He reached the table.

She didn't look up.

He could see now—she was real. Breathing. Solid.

Not a hologram. Not a projection. A person.

He stared at the mask.No voice yet.No greeting.

Just silence…and the faint clink of a spoon in coffee.

"Are you her?" Jin asked finally.

The woman turned her head slightly.

Not a nod. Not a no.

Just movement.

Then—her voice.

"You made it."

In the shadows, across a rooftop nearby—

Kai Ren knelt behind a pair of binoculars, unmoving.

His jaw clenched under his own mask.

"That's her," he whispered.
