Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Holy Grail War Begins

A quiet night in Fuyuki City. Deep in a secluded forest, a lone figure stood on an empty lawn, his hands trembling slightly.

Waver Velvet took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. This was it—the Holy Grail War was about to begin.

He had spent hours preparing, making sure every detail was perfect. With careful precision, he drew the summoning circle on the ground, using chicken blood to inscribe the necessary patterns. He muttered to himself, double-checking the incantation.

"No mistakes… No mistakes…"

With one last deep breath, he began the summoning.

---

"Let silver and iron be the foundation.

Let stone and the Archduke of Contracts be the cornerstone.

Let my great teacher Schweinorg be the ancestor.

Let the winds blow against the four walls.

Let the gates be closed, and let the crown emerge.

From the three-forked road to the Kingdom, let it be guided and bound."

---

Meanwhile, in another part of Fuyuki City, Tokiomi Tohsaka stood before his own magic circle, a gleaming red gem in his hand. He let a single drop of blood fall into the circle, his expression serious.

Kirei Kotomine, Risei Kotomine, and Arthur watched in silence.

The altar before them was covered with relics, the most prominent being a shed snakeskin.

Kirei frowned. Snake skin? Seriously?

Even with his usual indifference, he couldn't help but feel a little unnerved.

But there was no turning back.

The moment had come.

---

Elsewhere, Kiritsugu Emiya stood beside a simple magic circle, frowning slightly as he checked his work.

Irisviel, standing nearby, looked unimpressed. "That's it? Just this simple pattern?"

Kiritsugu didn't even glance at her as he replied, "Summoning a Heroic Spirit isn't about theatrics. The Holy Grail does the real work. I'm just setting the coordinates."

With that, he placed Avalon—the legendary scabbard—into the center of the circle.

"Alright. It's done."

---

In the decaying depths of the Matou family's underground lair, the air was thick with the stench of rotting insects. Matou Kariya stood in the darkness, his body wracked with pain, his breath shallow.

Matou Zouken observed him with an eerie smile.

"Do you remember the summoning spell?" the old monster asked.

Kariya nodded weakly.

"Not bad, but you need to add two more spells," Zouken instructed.

"Why?"

The old man let out a dry, raspy chuckle. "Because you are weak, Kariya. If you want this to work, you'll need a little… push."

Zouken's grin widened, his voice filled with twisted glee.

"Add Mad Enhancement to the Servant. Let it consume them!"

Kariya clenched his fists, ignoring the agony in his body. He had no choice. This was for Aoi. For her daughters. For the promise he made.

He could endure. He had to endure.

---

And so, all across the city, under the same moonlit sky, mages stood before their summoning circles, preparing for the war to come.

Though their reasons differed, their goal remained the same—to claim the Holy Grail.

---

Waver inhaled sharply, his heart pounding. This was it.

"Declare—!"

He raised his hand, pouring all his magic into the chant.

"Let your soul be clouded with chaos and your heart with rage.

Come forth, prisoner of madness!

I am your Master, and you shall serve under these chains!"

At the same time, Kariya, gasping through his pain, chanted his own spell.

"Thou art the Guardian of Balance and the Chains of Restraint!

Come forth from the Wheel of Fate—!"

Then—

A blinding light.

A surge of wind and lightning.

Magic erupted in all directions as the summoning circles activated, tearing through time and space.

And then—

A figure clad in golden armor stepped forward.

His presence was overwhelming. His very being radiated arrogance and majesty.

Tokiomi's eyes lit up with excitement. He clenched his fists, grinning like a madman.

"Kirei! Look at this! This war… is ours to win!"

Gilgamesh had arrived.

---

From the swirling magical energy of another circle, a second figure stepped out.

A knight in silver armor. A golden-haired warrior with piercing emerald eyes.

She gazed forward, calm yet resolute.

"I am Saber. I have answered your summons."

She raised her gaze, locking eyes with her summoner.

"Now, tell me—are you my Master?"
