Chapter 9 - Bite the Rune, Fluff the Tail!

The sound was weird, while it seemed to be a scream. It sounded weirdly suppressed. Not by the person but rather by something on the outside. In quite a weird way.

The three blinked for a second at each other, before the fox moved himself and dashed out! Right towards the bigger training ground. Leaving the others quiet in the dust taking his increased agility.

Just as he entered the room. The screams were made clear. No, once again it wasn't a villain. Noah and Rowan were proceeding to just body slam and throw each other around onto the mattresses. Ends up that the weird suppression was their faces shoved into them.

Soon arrived the other two from the back. Fen and Mina sighing at the situation. Why does all the stupid stuff find a way to happen right here and right when they are having fun?

All though, Tris did not need time to choose, the next second he launched himself into the air...Right at the mattresses! Proceeding to fully just bodyslam both Noah and Rowan at once! Seemingly his agile frame was useful at this one thing!

Rowan and Noah were surprised. Still laughing their asses off, Mina and Fen began laughing as well the moment that happened. Though Fen seemed to get a little idea, as he looked around.

That was just the bait! Moving himself, he proceeded to pick up Mina and throw her at the three! Doing so successfully he launched the archer forward! Now having the four of them ragdolled onto the mattresses.

"And that is what I call a VERY successful attack!"

Fen answered as Tris was the first to get up, shaking himself like a washed puppy. His fur furrows around as he lets out a small, higher-pitched hiss. Closer to a fox than any other hissing animal.

The group just began laughing at his cute attempt... Yet murder resided in the fox's eyes. His hand danced into the air, threads moved as he conjured a small, long and sharp needle! With a second flick of his wrist, he proceeded to throw it at Fen! Playing dodge with the immortal.

Fen instantly blinked, grinning aswell! His body moved with swiftness, dodging the needle with a swift motion, seemingly he had dealt with this before. Wooww, who would have thought? It is not the first time a crazy fox has thrown needles at him.

"All you can do boy?"

He cackled, Fen simply speaking, but perhaps, that was not a good idea. Suddenly, the fox boy seemed to almost be fuming. Was he willing to burn all his energy and shit just to pierce him a thousand times? Yes.

And as such, the boy conjured three needles and proceeded to throw one with each hand. – And of course, one with the tail! His movements were swift, and almost targeted perfectly. His eyes held no regret of trying to harm him.

Fen dodged them one by one... Seemingly his throwing skills needed improvement, like. BIG improvement. Or it was most likely the fact he was not trying hard enough to hit him. He was just being a lazy boy in the end.

But then, his ears flickered... Mina had gotten up as well! And just as he attempted to conjure another three... One of them was simply taken. No questions asked, with a small flicker of her wrist and taking a stance. She threw it forward!

This one was not thrown out of a funny joke, but rather genuine murder. The needle flew through the air perfectly, almost in a trance... Fen was fast enough to move his body, dodging. – Or that's what he thought. The needle was not sent at that location. But at a prediction. As such, It hit him right in the leg, the same spot the arrow did! Mina just gave a soft smile as Tris BLINKED. Deadly women.

Now that Tris knows to NOT mess with Mina's fight-wise characteristics. His eyes moved over to Fen, who was just blinking trying to pull the needle out of his leg, his hand just slipping off it, it was quite the hilarious scene. He long ago learnt to just ignore pain altogether after all.

The bard proceeded to cackle a bit more, waving his hand as the needle dissipated into the white threads once more, allowing Fen's flesh to regenerate once more. The skin covering the small pierced spot, as it suddenly appeared as if nothing hit him at all.

And that was it! Right? – In your dreams, Mina seemingly took a step forward and proceeded to grab and mess up with the fur on Tris's tail! Our bard let out a small whine as he jumped, shaking his head.

Raising a hand, Tris swiftly scribbled a rune into the air, concentrating the outburst towards Mina! 'Wind' And suddenly, she was launched back into the mattresses on the walls! Letting out a serious chuckle as Tris proceeded to BITE the rune to disable it. His tail flickered into the air in front of him as he swiftly moved his hands across it, making sure the fluff wasn't messed up and was pretty!

Mina was just lying on her back, chuckling loudly. Seems today's playtime went well! A chaotic fox demon, a chaotic and murderous archer, and two golden retrievers messing around in there. . . And one old immortal chew toy.

Perhaps that was just a recipe for chaos, perhaps it was one to a chaotic day. In the end, one thing was true, it was fun! It was something to do until. – And here did the fox sigh again. Realising this was merely a dream until Monday came! God damn it.

He shook his body lightly, ears giving a small flicker. Raising his hand, he wrote a second rune into the air. 'Tide' A small ball of water contracted itself into his palm. – Mina moved her body, thinking he was going to throw it at her again! But no. He simply bit into it and sipped, just drinking the cold water. His tail wiggling, he was happy! At least for now.

Mina seemingly just got up, dusting herself off as he walked a bit, getting off the mattresses with a chuckle, looking straight at Fen! Wanting an opinion on her target.

"So, how does your leg feel Hm? I say it was a good shot! Right where I hit last time!"

She teased, grinning from ear to ear. Proud of her sudden attack on him. No regret in her voice, and no reason. After all he wasn't actually hurt, and he could choose to not feel the pain, even he sometimes did some antics to make them laugh.

"Good target, good strategy. But you might have to work more on accuracy and hitting for sensitive spots, or disabling their feet by hitting a vein! Sounds good to me!"

Fen spoke with a cackle, clearly taking the joke, but also went a bit on the factors itself, after all, they were trained to fight, so a small talk about this skill of hers could prove useful later.

"Aw come on! It was good! I could've aimed higher if it was an actual target!"

Mina whined, giving a huff and crossing her arms. Yet still chuckling, in the end she was the only range fighter in the group for a reason, they did not need another as she performed like a master in her arts. Who would've thought that those archery lessons in her younger ears could have caused this? Probably not many.

"Yeah fine, it was good. You did well, right at the target, and a BULLY, hitting my leg right in the same spot as this morning! You hate me I swear-"

Fen spoke, moving himself lightly from side to side, still sliding in a few jokes with his words, after all keeping them happy was always effective on their training, and still is their best option!

"And that's what I wanted to hear! I am not the only archer in the group for no reason, my performance is best! You should begin saying that more often, HMPH!"

She spoke with a chuckle, clearly letting it get to her head, or was she joking? You could not tell, perhaps it was both! But there was that sassy discovery in there. And a sly grin. – Yeah No, those words were clearly just getting to her head.

"If you're so good, then I suppose your voice is the reason you are single!"

The voice came from behind, the sly fox was just sitting in a W position with his legs, smiling as he slid in that line. Clearly he was mostly half joking, her voice sometimes made him want to slam his head into all the walls he saw.

"Aw shut up! Fox boy, at least I have more people interested in me rather than the dust in your Snapchat!"

Mina snapped at him, giving a clear huff as she crossed her arms. Teasing the boy with quite the ease, not like he was making it hard anyway.

"I don't use Snapchat..."

He mustered, yeah, she got him again. He barely even used Instagram, the poor guy was being bullied. And she wasn't even trying to limit it.

Mina just went silent... Blinking... Seemingly a small, big teaching for a random teenager in high school was coming... Good luck.
