Day 22: Back..

The next day, as Kiddy walked into school, he was greeted by the familiar buzz of students filling the hallways. It felt good to be back after a day of rest, even if he still felt a bit sluggish. As he made his way to class. He saw his friends, greeting them. They immediately started asking questions.

"Oh Kiddy! You're back!" Mando exclaimed with a grin. "Feeling better?"

Kiddy nodded, smiling at the concern in their faces. "Yeah, much better. Just needed some rest."

"Good to hear," Sam added, patting him on the back. "We were all wondering what happened. Ammy told us you were sick, but it's good to see you back on your feet."

Lily chimed in, "Yeah, we missed you yesterday. Glad you're okay."

"Who does he think he is? A celebrity." Whispering while making a annoyed face.

Kiddy smiled gratefully at his friends. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it."

As the bell rang and they all filed into the classroom, Kiddy took his usual seat beside Ammy. She was already focused on her work, scribbling notes in her notebook, completely absorbed in whatever the teacher was saying.

Kiddy glanced at her for a moment, then leaned over slightly and whispered, "Hey, Ammy."

She looked up from her notes, her expression calm but with a hint of curiosity. "Yeah?"

Kiddy gave her a sincere smile. "Thanks for checking on me yesterday. My mom told me you came by. That was really nice of you."

Ammy shrugged casually, though a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. "No big deal. Just making sure you weren't skipping school for fun."

Kiddy chuckled softly. "Not this time, I promise."

Ammy nodded, her attention already drifting back to her notes. "Well, glad you're feeling better. Now, focus—we've got exams to crush."

Kiddy grinned and nodded, pulling out his own notebook. As the class went on, he found it easier to concentrate, as his health went back to normal.

As the day progressed, the students were informed that their next class would be a free period. The news spread quickly, and while many students used the opportunity to relax, Ammy's mind was still on the looming exams. She turned to Kiddy, who seemed a bit too excited about the unexpected break.

"Ammy, it's a free lecture!" Kiddy grinned. "Perfect chance to unwind a bit. Come on, let's do something fun!"

Ammy raised an eyebrow, already sensing where this was going. "Kiddy, we need to study. This is the perfect time to catch up on some notes."

Kiddy sighed, looking torn. "I know, but… just one last game? I promise I'll focus after this. One last time before we're buried in books."

Seeing the genuine excitement in his eyes, Ammy sighed. "Alright, fine. One last game. But after that, no more distractions, okay?"

Kiddy's face lit up, and he quickly grabbed his bag. "Deal! I'll be right back."

Ammy watched him slip out of the classroom, knowing exactly where he was headed. She shook her head with a smile and pulled out her English notes. As much as she wanted to stay focused, she couldn't help but feel a little envious of Kiddy's carefree attitude.

Kiddy made his way to Eric's class, quietly peeking in through the door. Eric, a fellow volleyball enthusiast, was sitting near the back, looking just as restless as Kiddy had felt. Kiddy caught his eye and gave him a quick nod. Eric grinned, understanding the signal immediately.

Kiddy mouthed, "Come on!" and motioned for Eric to follow him. Eric, with a quick glance to make sure the coast was clear, slipped out of his seat and sneaked out of the classroom, joining Kiddy in the hallway.

"Volleyball?" Eric asked with a smirk.

"You know it," Kiddy replied with a grin. "Let's go."

The two of them made their way to the school's outdoor volleyball court, their steps light and quick. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp—perfect weather for a quick match. They grabbed a ball from the equipment shed and set up the net, the familiar thrill of the game already pumping through their veins.

As they started playing, the world seemed to fade away, and all that mattered was the game. The sound of the ball thudding against their hands, the rush of the wind, and the feel of the court beneath their feet—it was exactly what Kiddy needed to clear his mind.

Meanwhile, Ammy had followed them to the court but chose to sit on the nearby benches, her English notes in hand. She occasionally glanced up from her notes to watch Kiddy and Eric, a small smile playing on her lips. They were having a blast, and it was hard not to get caught up in their energy.

But even as she watched, she stayed focused on her work, determined to make the most of the free period. She knew Kiddy needed this break, and she also knew that once the game was over, he'd be ready to dive back into studying with her.

The match went on for a while, both boys laughing and giving it their all. It was exactly the kind of fun Kiddy had been craving, and as he looked over at Ammy sitting on the benches, he felt a sense of balance. This was the perfect way to relax before the intense study sessions to come.

Eventually, the match ended, with both boys catching their breath and laughing as they walked off the court. Kiddy, still grinning, walked over to Ammy.

"Alright, I'm done," he said, his voice slightly breathless but full of satisfaction. "Ready to hit the books?"

Ammy looked up from her notes, giving him an approving nod. "Good game?"

"Great game," Kiddy replied, grabbing his water bottle and taking a long drink. "Now, let's get serious."

Ammy chuckled and stood up, gathering her things. "Alright, let's go. No more distractions."

With that, the two of them headed back inside, ready to tackle the rest of the day. The break had done wonders for Kiddy's energy, and as they returned to their studies, he found it easier to focus, knowing he'd had his fun—and that Ammy was there to keep him on track.

After school, as the students were packing up and heading out, Kiddy was still feeling the high from his volleyball game earlier. He was gathering his things when a boy he recognized from the game approached him. It was Harry, a quiet guy who had played on the same team as Kiddy during the match. He had been great at receiving Eric's powerful spikes, something Kiddy had noticed but hadn't had a chance to comment on during the game.

"Hey, Kiddy," Harry said, a bit shy but with a friendly smile. "I just wanted to say—your setting skills are really impressive. You made it easy for all of us to get those hits in."

Kiddy looked up, pleasantly surprised. "Thanks, Harry! You were awesome out there too. The way you handled Eric's spikes was pretty amazing. Not everyone can pull that off."

Harry smiled, clearly pleased with the compliment. "Thanks, man. It was a good game. We should do it again sometime."

"Definitely!" Kiddy replied, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "You know, I'm surprised You're really cool, and we're into the same stuff."

"Yeah, I think so too." Harry said, as they started walking out of the school together.

As they walked, they continued to talk about the game, classes, and even some shared interests they hadn't known they had. Harry fit right in with Kiddy's easygoing nature, and their conversation flowed naturally, making the walk home feel shorter than usual.

When they reached a point where their paths would separate, Kiddy grinned and gave Harry a fist bump. "We should hang out more, man. You're officially part of the crew now."

Harry chuckled, returning the fist bump. "Sounds good to me. See you tomorrow, Kiddy."

As Harry headed off in his direction. Ammy said "looks like you got yourself a new friend." "Yea" kiddy expressing happieness. It had been a good day—he'd gotten back into school, had a great game, and now had another friend to add to the group. His circle of friends was growing.
