Behind the door was a small village at the middle of a forest, the village was surrounded by some fences, those fences were weak, so weak they could just break if an invasion happened.
Gray walks around, refreshing himself and making him familiar with these places. People called him out in a familiar tone,asking how he have been, Gray just smiles at them and continued on. At the center of the village was a chapel not too big. Upon entering, he sees that no one was there and so he just leave.
North to the village was a house(post) , near the fences. These were for the knight stationed at the village, at day they teaches some apprentice swordmastery and at night, they patrol the forest.
"Hmm, why can't I remember anything? "
Gray said to himself while walking towards the post.
"It seems the headache I had caused the memories to cut before it completely transfered to me. "
While talking to himself, Gray bumped to an old big guy with a big sword. Gray was flustered, seeing the scars on his face and his big sword he wondered to himself
"What the heck? He looks like a bad guy, will he kill me?"
But when Gray look at him again, he saw the old guy laughing.
"Hahaha, it seems you really did recovered from the poison of that centipede"
"Although not that lethal, it takes weeks and even months to be complete healed"
Gray was confused but after not very long, he gets the idea that he might be a knight. Gray thinks to himself
"What should I say? What should I do? Should I lie and act normal, should I act as if I know him? " Completely in sweat, Gray finally decided to answer.
"Ummm... Do I know you? "
The old man was surprised.
"Are you joking? Did you forget who I am? "
"I really don't know you... " Replyed Gray
"Hey, I know you like pranks but this isn't something to joke about, you know me, I hate people joking with me."
"Sorry but I really don't know you, Sir. " Said Gray
"Hmmm, seems like you really did lost your memories, alright you come with me. "
"Where? "
"Don't ask questions and just follow me. "
Soon they reached the post. The old man called the outers inside the post and shout
"Mens, it seems our little Gray had a memory loss, what should we do? "
All the mens stared at the old guy and laugh
"Oh boss, I thought you hated pranks? What happened to you? "
Another said.
"Hahaha, yesterday Mr. Ander just visited him and he knows him pretty damn well."
Another one shout
"So is it you or haha, Gray's idea to prank us. "
The old man was angry "You punks, you think I'd joke around about something serious?"
One guy told him to stop the prank which made the old man more angry that he punched the man, thus knowing him out. All the others who were laughing stop, there was a serious silent.
One brave guy ask him," So, he did really lost his memories?" "This is really bad. "
Gray speak up, " Well I have lost almost all my memories but for some reason, I still have the memories of Mr. Ander. " One could see he was pretty nervous saying things to strangers that they were almost sad.
The old man replied, "Hey, lemme introduced myself, I'm Hawk, the captain of Tanna village's guard, nice to meet you. "
Gray was flustered but shak hands with Mr. Hawk. In his mind he was completely shocked to know that he was actually the captain.
Others also followed their captain and decided to introduce themselves to Gray one by one. By the end of the day, they were talking and laughing as if they know each other for a really long time.
It was already night, while they were still laughing, Mr. Hawk shout
"Mens, it's time to go for patrol. You too Gray. "
Gray thought, " Wait, are they trying to take me to patrol with them? " With a scared face.
Hawk continued, " Go home fast before it get too dangerous."
Seeing the sky Gray also thinks it's time to go home, he said goodbye to his new friends and goes back home. About a few steps away from his, he saw a white hair girl with a basket in her hand, coming from his home. Gray couldn't help but wonder how beautiful she was, he thought that only a few models from Earth were a match to her.
The girl in white hair slowly approach Gray and said "Hey Gray, how have you been? Does the poision have any effect on you? " with a calm and soothing voice, her voice was sweet as a Mayna singing. Gray stood there, frozen and dazed, the white haired girl calls his name out and Gray snap back to reality.
The girl then said, " Well, it's good to see you well, here I've made some food for you, hope you like it" with a sweet smile on her face, she than hands him the basket and left.
After she's gone, Gray still stood there mumbling to himself "She was gorgeous" And after coming back to his semses, he went inside.
As he was having the soup she made, he wandered who she was and what's her relationship with him.
"Damn, this soup is tasty, on top of that she's really pretty too. It would be nice to have her as a wife." He couldn't stop complementing the angel he had just saw. After some failed attempts of trying to hopefully remember her, he decided to just ask about her from his friends. He quickly finished the soup and goes to sleep.
The next day, he goes to the post after having breakfast, the breakfast was some bread and tea he found on a shelve in the cottage. Arriving at the post, he noticed that all the guys were sharpening their weapons. Gray ask why and they replied.
"It seems some guys discovered an Ancient Cave at the forest so we were planning to attack it today."
Gray asked what an Ancient Cave was
The replied, "You don't know why, oh, right you lost your memories, sorry for that", Gray quickly comfort him and said it wasn't his fault.
After a while the man told Gray. "Long ago, way before this continent was formed, the Gods were presence on this world, however they soon realised that this place was unbefitting for them so they left this world after forming a continent, but some of their power remains, which accumulated deep down the Earth resulting in high mana concentration, caves containing higher mana formed, as a results the monsters in these kind of caves are mutated according to the level of higher mana".
Gray was intruged and thought to himself, "Mana? There's magic in this world?"
The old guy then said," Well, this particular cave seems to have lower mana so us kinght should be able to handle it, usually they would send Holy Knight." The guy looks at Gray who looked confused and then offered him "Hey, wanna tag along. " But Gray refused saying he still haven't recovered.
Gray then leave for his home as he didn't want to disturbed them preparing.
