Chapter 11 - The Stone of Covenant

As the temple crumbled around them, the Lord of Darkness moved swiftly, using his energy to shield Rain and Lilith from the falling debris. "No time for arguing now! We must get out of here before we are buried alive!" the Lord of Darkness yelled, his tone sharp and commanding.

They dashed through the dilapidated corridors, dodging falling rocks and cracks that suddenly appeared in the ground. The Servant of Darkness was laughing hysterically, unleashing their magical power to accelerate the temple's collapse.

"You will die here! You will not escape my grasp!" the Servant of Darkness shrieked, their voice echoing through the ruins.

"We won't let you!" Lilith retorted angrily, firing a shadow arrow towards the Servant of Darkness. But the arrow veered off course due to the violent tremors and struck the wall.

While they were running, Rain noticed something glowing in one of the side chambers. "Stop!" Rain shouted. "There's something here!"

Rain rushed into the room, followed by the Lord of Darkness and Lilith. The room was small and dark, but in its center was a stone glowing with a faint blue light.

"What is this?" Lilith asked.

"This is the Stone of Covenant," said the Lord of Darkness in an awestruck tone. "It is a very ancient artifact, said to grant its wielder immense power."

"But what is it doing here?" Rain asked.

"It doesn't matter," said the Lord of Darkness. "We must take it with us. This might be the very thing we need to defeat the Council of Light."

Rain approached the Stone of Covenant and touched it with his hand. The moment he touched the stone, he felt an immense surge of energy flow through his body. He felt as if his soul was merging with the stone, as if he had become a part of it.

Rain began to see vivid visions of the past and the future. He saw the history of the temple, the priests who had lived there, and the dark rituals they had practiced. He also saw the future, the coming war, and both victory and defeat.

"I know what we must do," said Rain in a confident tone. "We must use the Stone of Covenant to turn the tables on the Servant of Darkness."

Rain focused his spiritual energy and began to invoke the power of the Stone of Covenant. An aura of blue light surrounded him, and the ground began to tremble.

"What are you doing?" the Servant of Darkness shrieked, lunging towards them.

"I'm going to end this now," said Rain.

Rain unleashed the power of the Stone of Covenant, directing it towards the Servant of Darkness. The force struck the Servant of Darkness directly, causing them to scream in agony. The Servant of Darkness's body began to glow with a bright blue light, then suddenly exploded.

The temple's collapse abruptly ceased. Silence filled the air, broken only by the sound of Rain, Lilith, and the Lord of Darkness's breathing.

"What happened?" Lilith asked.

"I used the power of the Stone of Covenant to kill the Servant of Darkness," said Rain. "I also used the stone to rebuild the temple. I stopped it from collapsing."

"You are truly powerful, Rain Valen," said the Lord of Darkness. "You possess a power I have never seen before. I am certain you will lead us to victory."

"I'm not sure about that," said Rain. "But I will do my best. I will do everything in my power to protect my friends and bring about justice."

After Rain rebuilt the temple, they decided to stay there for a while. They needed to rest and recover, and they needed to plan their next move.

"What will we do now?" Lilith asked. "Where will we go?"

"We must go somewhere safe," said the Lord of Darkness. "We must find a place where we can regroup, train, and plan."

"I know a place," said Rain. "There is a hidden cave located in the Misty Mountains. It is a safe and fortified place, and we can use it as our base of operations."

"The Misty Mountains?" Lilith asked. "That's a very remote place. Are you sure we can get there?"

"Yes," said Rain. "We will use the Stone of Covenant to transport us there. The stone can travel through time and space, and it can take us anywhere we want to go."

"That sounds dangerous," said the Lord of Darkness. "Are you sure you can control the power of the Stone of Covenant?"

"I'm not sure," said Rain. "But we have to try. We don't have any other choice."

Rain focused his spiritual energy and began to invoke the power of the Stone of Covenant. An aura of blue light surrounded them, and the ground began to tremble.

"Get ready," said Rain. "We are about to teleport."

Suddenly, Rain, Lilith, and the Lord of Darkness vanished from the temple. They had teleported to the Misty Mountains, to a hidden cave that awaited them.

Meanwhile, in the city of Oris, Lord Elias was seething with anger. He had learned of the Servant of Darkness's death, and he knew that Rain Valen had acquired the Stone of Covenant.

"This young man poses a greater threat than I initially thought," said Lord Elias in an enraged voice. "He must be stopped at any cost."

"What will you do now, my Lord?" asked Sorcerer Malik.

"I will send an elite team," said Lord Elias. "I will send my best warriors and mages. They will take the Stone of Visions with them, and they will use it to track down Rain Valen. I will not rest until that wretch is eliminated."

And so, the Council of Light began to mobilize its forces. The war was about to begin, and the fate of the world of Eridos hung in the balance.
