Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 – War, Broken and Bound

Location: The Crimson Crucible – Domain of Destruction

The skies above the Crucible were stained red, constantly aflame with storms of molten power. Here, destruction wasn't feared — it was worshipped. Mountains crumbled and rebuilt themselves daily. Lava rivers danced to the rhythm of a goddess's rage.

And in the heart of it all stood Valeria.

Towering, muscular, wrapped in black armor lined with crimson sigils, her eyes glowed with raw divine fire. Her voice had shattered planets. Her wrath had silenced gods.

She stood atop a field of broken weapons and fallen giants, her warhammer resting on her shoulder.

She felt him before she saw him.

"You're bold," she said, without turning. "Stepping into my forge without a challenge."

Ren's voice echoed, calm and cold. "If I thought you were a challenge, I might've brought backup."

She laughed — a deep, thunderous sound that split the sky.

"You think I'm just another one to collect?" she asked, finally facing him. "Another prize to tame?"

Ren shrugged. "Not a prize. A partner."

Her eyes narrowed.

"I don't partner with men who think they can control me."

"And I don't collect women who can't stand beside me," Ren replied, stepping into the heat as if it were air.

The shadows around him surged and hissed, reacting to the volatile divine energy. But Ren didn't flinch.

"You're powerful," he said, eyes locked onto hers. "But power without purpose is just noise. You're angry because they made you a weapon — then chained you like a beast."

Valeria's fist clenched. The skies growled.

"You want to be unleashed?" he asked. "Then follow me. I won't chain you. I'll set you free — to destroy everything that dared keep you leashed."

Valeria didn't move.

But her heart skipped.

No one had ever spoken to her without fear. No one had dared offer her not submission… but sovereignty.

"You think you can handle destruction?" she growled.

"I am destruction," Ren whispered, stepping within arm's reach.

The flames around them exploded, reacting to their presence, turning black and violet in a cyclone of shadowfire and divine fury.

For a long, tense moment, they simply stared.

Then, finally… Valeria smirked.

"I'll give you one chance," she said. "Prove you're not just words."

Ren returned the smirk. "You'll see soon enough."

Later – The Broken Forge

The ancient forge, which had burned for eons, now stood in eerie silence. Blackened, shattered metal littered the ground. In its center, Valeria stood — her armor cracked, her warhammer embedded in the stone behind her.

Ren stood nearby, his cloak billowing in the embers.

She looked at him differently now. Not with scorn.

But with respect.

"You're dangerous," she said. "And reckless."

He stepped forward, brushing a stray lock of crimson hair from her face.

"I'm exactly what you've been waiting for."

Valeria didn't reply.

But she didn't stop him either.

Meanwhile – Divine Council Chambers

Three thrones sat empty now.

Time. Life. Destruction.

The other gods watched in tense silence as Ren's influence grew, consuming domains one by one. Panic and temptation warred within them.

"He's corrupting them," one whispered.

"No," said another. "He's changing them."

"Either way," rumbled a deep voice, "we need to act before we're next."

But even as they plotted… one of the council members stared too long into the shadows.

And smiled.
