I hate him.
Everyone in the room was staring at me with wide eyes. As if they've never seen a she-wolf before. One of the grey men broke the silence first.
"Oh Holy moon goddess. Is she the last descendant of the Lunar Bloodline?"
I raised my brows as they all gasped. How dramatic. I saw Damien sighing before nodding his head. Everyone gasped again and I was this close to clawing at them. I got up from the chair and everyone got attentive, standing up at the same time.
"Relax. She won't run this time." Damien said through gritted teeth. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"I need to know what's going on. I can't just sit like some fool and wait for those bloodthirsty creatures to come get me."
I needed to know what was going on. If they won't tell me, I will find it out for myself.
"Hey rogue," I darted my head towards the voice. He was tall, broad shoulders, built similar to Damien, grey hair. "Did you know the stunt you just pulled would have gotten all of us in trouble."
He walked close to me, narrowing his eyes. A low growl was heard and I did not need to turn my head to know whose voice was that.
"Get away from her, Beta Xavier."
Beta? Oh, so he's the Beta.
All of a sudden the main door of the hall opened and a slender, beautiful woman walked in. Swaying her hips side to side, she stopped before me giving me a nasty look from head to toe.
"Oh, so this is the important stuff you meant, Damien."
She raised her brows, walking past me, making sure she bumps her shoulder with mine. I stumbled backwards, turning my head towards her. Her arms wrapped around his bicep as she smiled up at him.
"I do deserve to know what's going on right?" She purred to which I scrunch my nose.
Such a pick me.
"She is the last descendant of the Lunar bloodline. And I hope you know the details, Lady Selene."
I still don't know what they are talking about. Sure they talk about me but I don't know what the hassle is about.
"And what does it mean," I stepped forward, my eyes lingering on her hands which grabbed him tightly. "Me being a Lunar Bloodline, is there a problem?"
The rude Beta Xavier from before stands before me, his face twisted in hate.
"You are the cursed one. Your blood is sacred for the vampires. The last descendant of the sacred Bloodline."
I froze on the spot. So… they wanted my blood all along.
I saw Selene's hands running along his arms and a strange knot twisted in my stomach. Why do I suddenly want to go and tear Amherst into pieces?
Mr psycho Alpha came up to me. held my chin between his fingers, he made me look into his eyes.
"Till we figure out a solution, you will stay within these walls of Shadowfang Pack. Understood?"
His tone was demanding and my skin burned where he touched me. Weird thing, I wanted him to keep touching me as long as he could but sadly he pulled away.
"Why are you protecting me?"
I asked him as I saw him retreating. He threw me a look from his shoulder before he opened his mouth,
"Because, just like me, you're a werewolf.
DAMIEN POV
Because you're my mate.
I wanted to say them out loud but the wise part of me knew it wasn't the smartest thought.
Without saying anything further, I went towards my office and closed the door before my eyes landed on the figure sitting behind my desk.
"You love her don't you?"
I sighed, taking off my jacket. It's suddenly too hot in this room.
"I don't know what you're talking about Xavier." I shake my head before plopping down on the chair. Throwing my head backwards, I ignored his glare.
"You can fool everyone, even yourself but you cannot fool your brother, Damien."
Shit.
This little jerk is too smart. I straightened myself facing him.
"She's my mate. My fated mate. What else do you expect from me towards her? Hate?"
His face displayed a hint of surprise before it went back to its cold form.
"What about Selene then? How will you keep the girl safe when you're destined to kill her?"
Kill her. I was supposed to kill her till the moment her scent filled my nostrils and my wolf slapped me to behave myself. I wanted her. So bad that I forgot what my original mission was and brought her to my personal cabin.
"There's a way," he looked at me, raising his brows.
"I will make her my Luna. My secret Luna."
