Eira disagreed. "My clan hunted for it. They called it the Truth-Render. It shows you not what you are—but what you will become."
Kael shivered. "I don't want to see that."
"But we need to. If Vaelion still lives in you… we have to know how much."
Their path led them through the Verdant Abyss, a forest that grew upside-down—its trees hanging from the sky, roots clawing through the earth.
In its heart lay the mirror, silent and smooth as frozen moonlight.
It reflected nothing.
Yet it watched everything.
