Chapter 1 - The Train— 1

Hmmm... where am I? Ah, my head hurts! Putting my head with my hands, I slowly opened my eyes. My gaze was hazy, making it difficult to discern between objects. But even without my vision, I could feel that I am moving. Not literally, but within something. After some seconds, with the help of frequent blinking and rubbing, I got my vision back.

But shouldn't I be dead? From what I remember, I died from a car accident. By the fault, it was my fault. I was driving under the influence of alcohol with full speed as if I was a Formula 1 racer.

As a 'supposedly dead,' I am surprising alive. No, I am a dead... in a way. Even if I survive the accident, I would have been in the hospital, not here. There are no injuries on my body. Only a headache.

I was inside a train, sitting in a seat. And I am not the only one who is in this train. Almost forty people are sitting in their respective seats in this passenger coach.

One by one, they opened their eyes. Confusion was evident in their eyes. Yet, some had fear mixed in them. Their reactions slowly turned into disbelief. It was as if someone had told them that the sun was flat and the earth was a star.

A woman was sitting on the right side of me, while a man was sitting on my left side.

"Where are we?" said a man with green hair and blue eyes. He was wearing shorts and a hoody. He asked this question to the beside him.

The old man beside him glared at him. He yelled, "How would I know? I just opened my eyes now. I don't why I am in this train," he stood up, "I was sleeping in my house. Did you all do it? Did you kidnap me?"

The woman beside me sneered at him. "Are you an imbecile? Think before you say anything. We are just as confused as you."

The old man snorted, "Young people like you are so rude. Tch, no manners whatsoever."

A young girl with red hair said, "Then, why are we here? I mean, did someone kidnap us from our respective places."

These words created an uproar. They started discussing among themselves.

"I was eating in my office, and suddenly I felt a sudden dizziness."

"Yeah, same for me as well. I was taking my daughter home after her piano lessons. I am really worried for her! If I am here, what is she going to do? She is just 10-year-old."

"I was fighting someone, and I remember... he hit me hard in my head."

"A truck almost crushed me."

"I was trapped in a building which had caught fire."

"I was writing my annual report."

"I was teaching my students and suddenly, I felt a pain in my chest."

Numerous people voiced their thoughts, breaking the silence from before.

I lowered my gaze and analysed their words. There is only one outcome from their statements. Like me, they are also dead. They haven't realized it yet. Honestly, I don't think they will ever realise this unless, someone points out this. Then again, they won't believe it. Denial is the strongest shield of human beings. Whenever things go eery, they fall into the phase of denial.

"What do you think?" asked the woman, who was sitting beside me.

I pointed at me and replied, "Me? I don't know anything. To be honest, I am scared," my eyes reddened, "I don't know what will happen to us?"

The woman looked at me in disgust. It looked like she had some expectations with me. Perhaps she thought I would realise something. Lady, I am sorry. I can't reveal anything unless I know what kind of shit, I am gonna face.

The man beside me smiled at me. Ah~ I didn't look at him but now I am cursing myself for my idiocy. What a handsome man he is! Just my type.

"My name is Louie Stylar, and don't worry at all. It's okay to be scared," replied the handsome man, Louie.

"Are you scared?" I asked him.

Louie nodded, "I don't know. Although if you want, I can be scared for you."

"How is this possible? Also, you are trying to flirt, aren't you?"

He smiled a bit wider and said, "Is it working?"

I smirked, "Your flirting needs some training. Women like me need a man who can flirt cleverly. Without proficiency, it becomes boring quite easily."

"Then, I will try to be better."

"I hope so."

"I think you two should stop now," sneered the woman.

I turned towards her and asked, "Do you want to flirt with him too? Or, me perhaps?" The woman glared at me and averted her gaze.

"Madam, I think it will be better for me to go there and try to get some information out of them," said Louie.

I shrugged, "Sir, I can't stop you, can I? Be safe~"

"Of course."

Louie gave another brief smile and walked towards the group of the 'discussing' passengers. My seat is almost at the end of this coach.

"Do you think it's some kind of joke? You are not here for vacation," said the woman.

I smiled at her and said, "I know. Didn't I say before that I am scared? See, I am even trembling in my seat. Wait, you never told me your name. What's your name?"

The woman lowered her gaze before standing up. She slammed her hands on my seat's headrest, trapping me between her arms.

Raising her head, she looked at me with anger filled eyes. I shrieked my neck a bit at her action. This woman was much bigger than me. She slowly moved her face towards my ear and whispered, "I know women like you very well. Let me give you a piece of advice. Change your attitude or else, you won't survive," she moved her eyes over my figure, "with that face and body, it will be a matter of time before you fall into their hands. On top of it, you don't look intelligent. An idiot like you may not survive."

"Is it over?" I asked blankly. The woman's eyes widened drastically as if she never expected my reaction would be so empty.
